5 more favourite posts about … goal-setting process
Guys, you know I love talking about goals.
I’m actually so excited that I’ve found like-minded people on my @OrganisingQueen instagram page who like to see so much talk about goals

Bullet journal 101 – planning pages
Thanks again if you took the bullet journal survey. If you still want to weigh in, go right ahead – I have one more post planned besides this one, but if there are more questions left on the survey link, there might be a third post this month.
If you’ve never done a bullet journal and you want to try….but you feel intimidated by the fancy ones you see on Instagram (clearly not mine!), I’d say if you do nothing else but a few standard pages, your life will feel at least ten times more organise...

What I learned in August
August is a big month for me because it’s my birthday month and I always have friends over for a birthday lunch.
So here’s what I learned this month:
I’m really much, much happier in the cold weather
Johannesburg had spring happen 6 weeks earlier than it was supposed to. I was not a happy camper but the last two weeks it’s cooled down again. Yay to not being deprived of a “proper” winter.
I always feel I need to qualify my #marcialoveswinter statements with a few facts. In summer, any temper...

Here’s your permission to reward yourself
My default setting is usually go, go, go.
As such, I usually keep striving and reaching towards the next thing, without taking a moment or two to just enjoy having accomplished a goal.
I’m not great at the resting and rejuvenating types of rewards but I’ve become a lot better.
A large part of it is a monthly ritual I’ve put into place where I review what I’ve gotten done during the month.
I celebrate all by myself that I’ve done x, y and z, and that it was, indeed, an accomplishment. Since I...

Your amazing habits
We all have some things we do that we don’t even think about.
These are our habits.
Hopefully they’re good ones and not habits we need to break.
The best thing about habits are that once they’re ingrained, you don’t have to expend mental energy to make those good decisions on a daily or weekly basis.
Here are some of my current good habits to give you an idea:
drink 2L of water daily go outside for at least 5 minutes a day (you might have seen some of my instagram stories where I literally...August 21, 2017
3 things I do that help my productivity
I adored reading this blog post from Ramit Sethi. It’s one of my favourite blog posts of all time.
One of the main things that were insightful for me is that fundamentals are first, second is psychology and third are the details. Most people focus on the details when they actually need to start focussing on fundamentals.
Fundamentals are things like sleeping enough, psychology is being able to say no or set good boundaries, and the details are what type of notebook or app or calendaring syst...

How I organise my Tupperware cupboard
My plastics cupboard had been driving me crazy for awhile. So when I asked for blog post suggestions and a follower asked me how I organise my Tupperware cupboard, it was just the motivation I needed.
Confession – I have zero pieces of actual Tupperware but I think we all call plastics “Tupperware”.
Ready?
Let me show you my cupboard and talk you through my process.
Here is the before pic. It’s organised but there is too much stuff.
The back of the cupboard opens to my dining room so I’ve alw...

Do you suffer from perfectionism?
If you’ve ever been for a job interview, you’ve probably been asked the most awful interview question, “what is your biggest weakness?”
At that point you probably want to position yourself in the best possible light so you frantically scramble and try to think of a weakness that’s not too bad.
I’ll confess that years ago when I used to go for job interviews I used to answer that biggest weakness was that I was a perfectionist.
It is a weakness and yet it’s a weakness that is seen as a streng...

Lovely things to do this year
I have some routines I like to do around my birthday every year which I thought I’d talk about and link to, so that you can be reminded to do them too, if you’re so inclined.
If your birthday’s at a completely different time of year, put a link to this post in your calendar, a week or so before or after your birthday.
If you’re reading on a mobile device like an iphone, tap the square with an arrow pointing up, copy and paste the link into your calendar.
Here’s my annual birthday routine:
1...

July project update and August theme – delight :)
Happy August!
My theme for July was refresh – you can read about the 7 areas I wanted to focus on in July.
Now here’s a confession – I completely forgot about one of them (number 3) because I didn’t write it down on my monthly goals list.
But 6 out of 7 is great. Technically, the window washing happens tomorrow but July was spent getting quotes. Though, if this company does a good job, I will just diarise and get them out every time the windows need doing. I can’t WAIT to see out of clean u...
