Kevin R. Hill has been a trouble-maker since he tried to make an unscheduled appearance into this world from the back seat of a speeding taxi. At twenty he found the freedom of travel, and spent a decade abroad. His love for mischief resulted in his being deported from England, and in being told to leave Israel. "If you've never been thrown out of a country," he often says, "well, you just haven't Lived."

Having been raised in a law-enforcement family taught him the price cops pay for their service.

He'd love to give you a free book here, https://www.amazon.com/dp/B077Y84H79 And please try one of my mysteries here, https://dl.bookfunnel.com/yv95k30yka

BookBub ads!

Authors, be aware, a listing on BookBub is a gamble. Yes, they have a great reputation. But they charge outrageous for that reputation. However, paying for an ad on the high-and-mighty BB, despite what most authors believe, does not guarantee success.

I recently paid $900 for the privilege of a listing with their 'New Release' ads. I was shown a chart by BB of the average number of downloads (sa... Read more of this blog post »

A PI with PTSD who takes care of his elderly aunt--now there is a great character!

I found this an exciting continuation to the New Breed Detectives series.

This is a fun book with great compassion. A PI who is caring for an aunt with dementia. It has terrific action as well. It shows that often as adults we are forced to examine the memories we have of our childhood.

The Killer Trap (The Detective, #2). by Kevin R. Hill
Should I take the book out of publication and repackage it? Sales have been terrible, and I can't help but wonder if the title, or the cover, or both, repel readers. Is the title too harsh, too simplistic? I can't help but wonder if the work would have a better chance, if it would sell better, reach more readers, with a better title and cover. What do you think?

"Did not enjoy

This book is stupid. Terrible dialogue. No character buildup. Story didn't keep me interested. The only thing I liked about this book was the cover. Don't waste your money. "
The Killer Trap (The Detective, #2). by Kevin R. Hill
"Hard to follow

The story line was hard to follow as characters came into the story that didn't have any introduction of who they or why they were there."
" I decided, when writing this, that the story of Deutz, the cop, needed to be there. I knew it slowed the pace of the book, but I thought it important ...more "

“Writers, that deep dark secret is not something you should hide from the world. It is your gift. Take it from memory and illuminate it in literature, shake the dust from it, unless it will get you arrested, lol.”

“We danced alone, apart, without time. It was not Jade who bit or clawed my shoulders. It was the creature at the root of her being, hidden beyond the bursts of color, the quivering muscles, exposed when joy shakes the mind free of the constraints of traditional thinking and leaves it standing warm in the sunshine, naked, asking to be taught anew. It was Jade.”

Kevin Hill To make a reader sad and feel they are leaving a good friend as they finish a book is one of the greatest gifts a writer can give.
