I'm a British writer of SF and fantasy stories (mainly the former), examples of which have been published in Interzone, Postscripts, End of an Aeon, Daily Science Fiction, Nature Futures and Music for Another World, amongst others. I've seen translations of my stories in Hebrew and Polish publications.

Recently I've started "reprinting" some of my published stories in ebook editions. You can find links to them here.

Needless to say, I'm working on a series of novels. It's been described as being a cross between apocalyptic pulp and modern hard science fiction. I take that as a compliment.

Like most writers, I adore cats. Recently, one has appointed me and my partner as its servants.

Cat's Breakfast by Juliana Rew
"A wonderful salute to Kurt Vonnegut. At times it feels like the writers are channeling Vonnegut as they present story after story in his wry, humorous voice. From intelligent life accidently spawned in the vat of a restaurant's synthetic meat gene..." Read more of this review »
Cat's Breakfast by Juliana Rew
"As one only vaguely familiar with Vonnegut, I was uncertain as to how much I could appreciate this anthology. Now, after reading, I intend to fully investigate the writer and his work. Though the premise maybe self-consciously derivative, this is..." Read more of this review »
Cat's Breakfast by Juliana Rew
"Tribute anthologies can be disappointing: either the link between the stories and the work that inspired them is so tenuous that the spirit of the original is totally lacking, or they are rehashes with nothing new to offer. Thank goodness Cat's Br..." Read more of this review »

Dylan Hearn has taken on a difficult task in writing this complex, near-future thriller, but for the most part he has succeeded admirably in his goal. Second Chance is a compulsively readable novel, which engages with some knotty political and philos ...more

Spilt Milk is a sly, engaging read. It contains a dozen literary slices of life. Each story is written in the author's lean, economical style, which casts a penetrating gaze on what at first seems a fairly ordinary scenario, but which invariably reso ...more
