Report: Joe Biden facing post-presidency with far fewer economic options than other presidents

Joe Biden addresses America on Monday, Aug. 1, 2022. (Video screenshot)Joe and Hunter BidenJoe and Hunter Biden

It seems like the cash flow the Biden family members enjoyed during his years in power in Washington now is only a trickle.

WND reported some weeks ago that former First Son Hunter Biden, documented by congressional investigators to be among the Biden family recipients of tens of millions of dollars in a years-long influence peddling operation while Joe Biden was vice president, then president, was claiming of a lack of money.

A report in the New York Post at the time explained the 55-year-old was pleading with a judge to dismiss one of his lawsuits because he was too broke to continue it.

Hunter Biden cited plunging sales of his artwork, a lack of interest in his book, and “significant” debt.

He said in a court filing, “[Hunter] has suffered a significant downturn in his income and has significant debt in the millions of dollars range.”

He said he knew his “financial position” was deteriorating, then suddenly realized action had to be taken.

“In the 2 to 3 years prior to December 2023, I sold 27 pieces for art at an average price of $54,481.48, but since then I have only sold 1 piece of art for $36,000. Similarly, for my book sales, in the six month period before the statements (April 1, 2023 through September 30, 2023), based on the September 30, 2023 statement, 3,161 copies of my book were sold, but in the six months after the statements, only approximately 1,100 books were sold.”

And he’s not getting any invitations for those speeches, which often bring big paychecks.

Now a new report from the Wall Street Journal points out that Hunter Biden isn’t alone: Joe Biden isn’t having a great time financially either.

In fact, that publication said Joe Biden’s “post-presidency” is “less lucrative than what he had expected.”

After two terms as vice president, and one as president, his current reality is “a leaner next chapter that lacks the well-funded foundations, plans for exquisite libraries and full calendar of paid speeches.”

All of those perks have been delivered for other former presidents.

He’s taking American Airlines flights instead of private jets, and while paid speaking engagements can generate $300,000 or more, they are “limited, and at least one organization tried to negotiate below that range.”

He has said he intends to pay off some $800,000 in personal debt, including loans on one of his homes, the Rehoboth Beach house.

“On top of bills for his son Hunter Biden’s legal woes, Biden also wanted to help his daughter Ashley, who filed for divorce last month, and ensure money is left for his grandchildren, people close to the Bidens said,” according to the report.

There is a $10 million book deal that will provide some financial boost, and he gets pensions from taxpayers of more than $400,000 a year.

One publication source said if the family keeps a “modest-for-the-powerful” lifestyle, things will work out.

But Hunter Biden recently delivered a round of harsh statements on podcasts, “including one that triggered a lawsuit threat from First Lady Melania Trump.”

One recent appearance for Joe Biden was to SHRM, a lobbying organization, which reportedly had offered $275,000 for his appearance, eventually agreeing to the $300,000 that was at the low end of the requested range.

And Joe Biden’s “memoir” was sold to the Hachette Book Group for a payment in the range of $10 million, only a fraction of what the Obamas secured when they left the White House.

Even social media has noticed:

Joe Biden is mired in debt and struggling to secure income

One big change is what investigators have bluntly called a pay-for-play scheme run by family members for years but no longer generates any revenue, as Joe Biden is out of power in the U.S.

Even his fundraising for a presidential library isn’t going well.

“I want an $800,000 refund,” demanded John Morgan, a lawyer. He was referring to the nearly $1 million he said he raised for Biden that went to then-Vice President Kamala Harris last year, after she assumed Biden’s role as the Democratic presidential nominee, one report explained.

“I don’t believe a library will ever be built unless it’s a bookmobile from the old days,” he said.

My 2 conversations with martyr Charlie Kirk

Christianity has never been politically correct. It never will be. Therefore, there have been numerous attempts to snuff it out, beginning with its very Founder. As the saying goes, if you don’t like the message, shoot the messenger. But beginning with Him, there’s always a resurrection that its opponents had not counted on.

The killing of Charlie Kirk last week was a Christian martyrdom. And that assassination could well see a positive turning point in the life of America.

Martyrdom has been an historic fact in the 2,000 years of the Christian faith. One of my favorite stories involving it goes back to around the year A.D. 300.

At that time, there was a Roman emperor who was so anti-Christian that he did everything he could to stamp out Christianity. His name was Diocletian. He killed Christians for being Christian, and he burned their scriptures. There are fragments of the New Testament that exist to this day that were saved from the fire of Diocletian’s persecution. Diocletian’s chief general was quite suspicious of the Christians, and he had them completely purged from the Roman army.

Thankfully, Diocletian’s anti-Christian crusade did not last too long. He resigned because of illness. And after him, the first Caesar to claim to be a Christian took his place: Constantine. For the first time in the history of the Roman Empire, Christians were allowed to worship the Lord freely.

Diocletian had declared in effect, “You worship Christ over my dead body.” And God said, “OK – if that’s the way you want it.” Ironically, Diocletian’s tomb eventually became the cornerstone of a church. So in truth many people have indeed been worshiping Christ over Diocletian’s dead body. My parents have even worshiped in this church; it’s in what used to be Yugoslavia. A lot of people visiting that church probably assume Diocletian was some saint from centuries ago.

The Scripture notes, “There is no wisdom,no insight, no plan that can succeed against the Lord.” (Proverbs 21:30, NIV)

I got to be interviewed by Charlie Kirk once on his radio program, and it was a great honor. Christians have been praying for decades for a true revival in America. When revival began to break out at Asbury College in February 2023, Charlie interviewed me on his podcast to get some commentary.

He asked me about my Providence Forum film, “The Road to Independence,” which shows how America was essentially born in the wake of a Christian revival – the First Great Awakening.

Charlie even played a short clip from the film, which was a sound bite from Dr. Os Guinness, and Charlie commending me for getting such a stellar guest for my movie.

In that sound bite, Guinness commented on the great role Rev. George Whitefield, the British preacher of revival in America, played in our nation’s history: “The Awakening was the sowing of the seeds for what became the freedom of the Revolution. So, I’m a great admirer of Whitfield, and Americans should appreciate his immense contribution.”

A year or so later, I got to interview Charlie for a Providence Forum podcast on the need to fight against cultural Marxism, i.e., “Woke-ism.”

Charlie’s fearlessness came through loud and clear. We were discussing his book, “Right Wing Revolution: How to Beat the Woke and Save the West.”

In that interview, Charlie told our viewers: “Liberty is not man’s idea. It is God’s idea. And that is a very important thing – that God wants us to be free. … The Woke do not want us to be free. They want us to be controlled and afraid.”

The secret of Charlie’s fearlessness came through loud and clear. He only cared about God’s opinion of him, not that of man. He said the Woke have been “weaponizing name-calling” throughout the West, but that can end when Christians exhibit more courage.

He argued: “We need to care less about what the bad guys call us. I can’t tell you how many people are just paralyzed, and they’re in a place of almost hypnosis by what the bad guys call them or what the Woke call us when they call you ‘racist’ or ‘bigot’ or ‘misogynist’ or all that nonsense. No, you should not care what they call you. You should care about your close relationships. You should only fear the Lord.”

The ultimate case of “cancel culture” is murder. And so, the hatred against Charlie Kirk canceled him on Sept., 10, 2025. As Gary Bauer notes: “All this hatred simply because he promoted Faith, Family and Freedom.”

But because of his faith in Jesus, Charlie Kirk was hopeful, even for the future of America – knowing he was on the winning side. As Martin Luther’s hymn, “A Mighty Fortress,” puts it: “The body they may kill. God’s truth abideth still. His kingdom is forever.”

The Democrats’ mask is slipping off

Democratic New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (video screenshot)

The Democratic Party is having an identity crisis.

To win elections, it must pose as moderately liberal. It is anything but.

The rise of Muslim/socialist Zohran Mamdani as the Democratic nominee for mayor of America’s largest city shows how far left the party has plunged.

New York City voters may yet reject Mr. Mamdani, but he’s favored right now to win in November. That would saddle the Big Apple with a functionally Islamic/communist regime.

Mr. Mamdani wants the government to take over vital services, from grocery stores to childcare, and to provide free transportation. He says he will impose a rent freeze, which would reduce housing and create more slums.

Mr. Mamdani is backed by the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA), who count on the media to conceal their Marxism. While Mr. Mamdani slyly pushes the parts of the DSA agenda that most appeal to the Democrats’ Free Stuff Army, the mother ship itself is unabashedly communist, although they’d reject that term as bad salesmanship.

As in Karl Marx’s “The Communist Manifesto,” the DSA wants public ownership of the means of production, something Mr. Mamdani said needs “seizing.” The DSA calls for nationalizing railroads, utilities, tech companies and manufacturing, in fact anything that creates wealth and jobs.

The DSA also demands “social ownership” of the media and internet, which would turn America into a latter-day Soviet Union, whose state-controlled press covered up its failures and horrendous crimes.

The Congressional Progressive Caucus, which embraces the DSA’s policies, has nearly 100 members – nearly half the Democrats in the House – plus openly socialist Sen. Bernie Sanders, Vermont independent.

Mr. Sanders and the Progressive Caucus are obsessed with the “1 percent,” the people who make billions off providing things people want in America.

Not so much concern is voiced about Russia or the “1 percent” rulers of China, North Korea, Cambodia, Vietnam, and Cuba.

Like the former Soviet bloc, these regimes purported to be “for the people” and then turned murderous. All told, “socialist republics” have killed more than 100 million people, a conservative estimate. The Shia Muslim government of Iran is also murdering its share of dissidents.

The DSA’s website prominently features Mr. Mamdani and U.S. Rep. Rashida Tlaib, Michigan Democrat. She’s a Muslim and vice chair of the Progressive Congressional Caucus who keynoted the 2025 Democratic Socialists’ convention.

The objectives of the Progressive Caucus and the Democratic Socialists are virtually indistinguishable from those of the Communist Party USA (CPUSA).

“To solve the challenges facing humanity, we need to replace capitalism with socialism, a system of cooperation, democracy, and equality,” the CPUSA declared in its party program adopted on July 13, 2025.

The Communist Party backs key elements of the Democratic Party platform, from government-monopoly health care to forcing the transgender madness on schoolchildren.

Tlaib told The Guardian newspaper that “we need to replace capitalism with socialism, a system of cooperation, democracy, and equality.”

How about this one: “In overcoming the old, barbaric order of capitalism, the working class will not only liberate itself from its own shackles, but all of humanity from the parasitic death-drive of capitalism.”

It’s not from the communists. It’s from the2021 Democratic Socialists platform.

Capitalism is not a system. It’s the market at work, supported by investment capital, labor, and the protection of private property. Buyers and sellers operate under the economic law of supply and demand.

Prices reflect what people think a product or service is actually worth, not what a socialist regime tells them it’s worth.

Nations that embrace socialism become poor and tyrannical. Socialism’s only sure outcome is misery for the many under the power of the few.

The U.S. government enforces the rules of law and liberty better than most. It’s why so much foreign investment comes into America from less-free countries.

The Bill of Rights safeguards property, religion, speech, the press, assembly, and the right to petition. Lacking such protections, socialist governments inevitably turn to tyranny.

A recent Gallup poll showed that more Americans, especially young people, are warming to socialism and rejecting capitalism.

A significant number of the young, however, are rejecting campus indoctrination and rediscovering American exceptionalism and faith in the God of the Bible.

Much credit for this goes to Charlie Kirk, who in 2012 co-founded Turning Point USA, a conservative outreach to campuses.

A devout Christian, Kirk helped launch a counter revolution, teaching students how to answer lies. Unbelievably sharp and articulate, he posed a great threat to the Left’s grip over students.

This past week, his powerful voice was shockingly silenced when a sniper shot him at a Utah college. Mr. Kirk, 31, left behind his wife and two young children.

Leaders of both parties rightly condemned the assassination. However, when House Speaker Mike Johnson was asked after a moment of silence to pause for a moment of prayer, a group of Democrats yelled, “No!”

One of them screamed, “Pass some gun laws!”

The Democrat blogosphere was rife with unprintable comments about how Mr. Kirk had it coming.

llinois Gov. JB Pritzker, a Democrat presidential contender for 2028, condemned the political violence, but also laid blame on President Donald Trump, saying, “I think the president’s rhetoric often foments it.”

Even the Washington Post called that “a disgracefully ill-timed comment.”

It’s not about the timing.

How Democrats pretend they care about crime

Iryna Zarutska looks up in horror after being stabbed on a Charlotte, North Carolina, commuter train on Friday, Aug. 22, 2025 (Video screenshot)

In the 1936 movie “Libeled Lady,” Spencer Tracy plays a hard-boiled newspaper editor working on a generic story. His assistant asks, “What’ll we use as a headline?” Tracy growls: “I don’t care. Anything. ‘War threatens Europe!'” The assistant asks: “Which country?” Tracy answers: “Flip a nickel.”

Today’s generic headlines read: “Democrat demands stricter gun control.” Which Democrat? Flip a coin. What type of control? Spin the wheel and see where it lands.

The shootings at a Catholic school in Minneapolis, the debate over federal intervention to counter Chicago’s crime crisis and the murder of conservative icon Charlie Kirk have elicited the predictable calls for more gun control.

Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz says he will call a special session of the state Legislature to enact tougher gun control in a state with some of the most restrictive gun laws in the nation.

The shooter at the Annunciation Catholic School used a rifle, a pistol and a shotgun, all legally owned by the transgender killer. Minnesota has licensing, registration, background checks and red flag laws. For the left, the tragedy is nothing more than an excuse to push gun control, even if nothing proposed would have prevented it.

In Chicago, someone is killed every 19 hours and 40 minutes. The Windy City leads the nation in homicides. Still, Mayor Brandon Johnson, who obstinately refuses help from the Trump administration, says Chicago would be as peaceful as Omaha on a Saturday night if it weren’t for guns coming in from red states.

BATF has a program that traces firearms used in crime. In 2023, it found that most guns used to commit crimes in Chicago came not from Mississippi and Alabama but rather Illinois and Indiana.

Gun control is a way for Democrats to pretend that they care about crime.

Yet they support cashless bail, sanctuary cities (which are magnets for illegal alien criminals) and a revolving door justice system. They oppose enforcing laws against vagrancy and involuntary commitment. ICE raids and National Guard support make them apoplectic.

They treat crime as a social issue.

When asked on a news show whether he would accept funding to hire another 5,000 police officers, Mr. Johnson demurred, saying instead that Chicago needs more affordable housing.

People are dying on the streets of Chicago because rents are too high?

If someone wants to commit murder, they will always find a way to get a gun. If they can buy fentanyl on the street, they can get a firearm.

Gangs fighting turf wars are not deterred by gun control.

Gun control works only with the law-abiding, the very people who need guns for self-defense.

As Democratic policies make the country more dangerous, those who don’t want to end up a crime statistic need to protect themselves. Yet Democrats want to make it impossible for the innocent to exercise their Second Amendment rights.

New York’s socialist mayoral candidate, Zohran Mamdani, advocates national anti-gun measures. When he comes for your property, he doesn’t want you to be able to resist.

In Charlotte, North Carolina, last month, DeCarlos Brown Jr. was charged with killing 23-year-old Ukrainian refugee Iryna Zarutska by plunging a knife into her neck while she was riding on a commuter train. Mr. Brown, who was a vagrant, had 14 prior arrests. The last time he appeared in court, a Democratic-appointed judge let him out on his written promise to appear for trial.

Charlotte Mayor Vi Lyles, a Democrat who is brimming with compassion for cold-blooded killers, said, “We will never arrest our way out of issues such as homelessness and mental health,” which must be a great comfort to victims’ families.

I’m surprised she didn’t propose knife control too.

The assassination of Charlie Kirk brought more calls for gun control from politicians who despised him and his values. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, New York Democrat, said we need “commonsense gun control” – as opposed to what: the impractical kind?

Kirk believed we need a Second Amendment to “protect our other God-given rights.”

Four in 10 Americans live in a household with a gun. Democrats would have to go door to door to get them. Former Rep. Beto O’Rourke, Texas Democrat (“Hell yes, we’re going to take your AR-15s”), is up to the job.

As the bodies pile up, Democrats shun law enforcement and cheer for their pet panacea, one that has a record of failure unrivaled in the history of government intervention.

Compared with gun control, even rent control works.

‘Grandpa’s rifle’: Chat between assassination suspect, trans roomie released

Tyler RobinsonTyler RobinsonTyler Robinson

Prosecutors in Utah working now on the case against Tyler Robinson, the alleged assassin of Turning Point USA co-founder Charlie Kirk last week, have released copies of social media chat between Robinson and his transgender roommate.

The conversation released by Utah County District Attorney Jeffrey Gray was between Robinson and his “transgender (male) lover, Lance Twiggs.”

Robinson: Drop what you’re doing. Look under my keyboard.

Note under keyboard: ‘I have the opportunity to take out Charlie Kirk and I’m going to take it.’

Twiggs: What? You’re joking, right?

BREAKING: Text messages between Charlie Kirk kiIIer Tyler Robinson and his trans lover & roommate Lance Twiggs have been released

When asked why he did it, Robinson replied “I had enough of his hatred.”

Radical leftist indoctrination is DEADLY. pic.twitter.com/8EqtQDuoDC

— Nick Sortor (@nicksortor) September 16, 2025

Robinson: ‘I am still okay, my love, but am still stuck in Oren for a little while longer yet. Shouldn’t be long until I can come home, but I gotta grab my rifle still. To be honest, I had hoped to keep this secret until I died of old age. I am sorry to involve you.

Twiggs: You weren’t the one who did it, right?

Robinson: I am. I’m sorry.

Twiggs: I thought they caught the person.

Robinson: No, they grabbed some crazy old dude, then interrogated someone in similar clothing. I had planned to grab my rifle from my drop point shortly after, but most of that side of town got locked down. It’s quiet, almost enough to get out, but there is one vehicle lingering.

There’s more:

Twiggs: Why?

Robinson: Why did I do it?’

Twiggs: Yeah.

Robinson: I had enough of his hatred. Some hate can’t be negotiated out. If I am able to grab my rifle unseen, I will have left no evidence. Going to attempt to retrieve it again. Hopefully they have moved on. I haven’t seen anything about them finding it.

Twiggs: How long have you been planning this?

Robinson: A little over a week, I believe. I can get close to [the rifle] but there is a squad car parked right by it. I think they already swept that spot, but I don’t want to chance it.

Robinson: I wish I had circled back and grabbed it as soon as I got to my vehicle. I’m worried what my old man would do if I didn’t bring back grandpa’s rifle. IDEK if it has a serial number, but it wouldn’t trace to me. I worry about prints. I had to leave it in a bush where I changed outfits. I didn’t have the ability or time to bring it with. I might have to abandon it and hope that they don’t find prints. How the F will I explain losing it to my old man? Only thing I left was the rifle wrapped in a towel.”

Then Robinson delivers some specific instructions:

Robinson: Delete this exchange.

And he warned Twiggs not to talk to anyone or answer any questions.

Robinson, 22, now has been charged with capital murder and other counts that could result, if he is convicted, in the death penalty.

According to the Daily Caller News Foundation the suspect’s mother told authorities that her son “had become more political and had started to lean more to the left – becoming more pro-gay and trans-rights oriented.”

CONFIRMED! Death penalty to be sought in assassination of Charlie Kirk

(Pixabay)

The death penalty will be sought against the man suspected of assassinating Charlie Kirk, co-founder of the Turning Point USA, Trump supporter and faithful Christian husband and father.

That’s according to a list of charges the suspect, Tyler Robinson, is facing.

They include aggravated murder, which is a capital offense and if he is convicted, the count would make Robinson subject to the state’s firing squad death penalty.

BREAKING: The Utah County Attorney has officially announced Charlie Kirk’s kiIIer has been charged with SEVEN crimes, and the DEATH PENALTY will be sought

– Count 1: Aggravated murder (capital offense)
– Count 2: Felony reckless discharge of a firearm causing bodily injury
-… pic.twitter.com/xYjd0HGXT0

— Nick Sortor (@nicksortor) September 16, 2025

It was the Utah County prosecutor who announced that there are seven crimes being charged against the suspect, who was arrested only about 30 hours after the shooting on a college campus in Orem, Utah.

A second count will be felony reckless discharge of a firearm causing bodily injury, and others are felony obstruction of justice for hiding the firearm, felony obstruction of justice for discarding the clothing he wore during the shooting, witness tampering for asking a roommate to DELETE incriminating messages, witness tampering for demanding trans roommate stay silent, and NOT speak to police and a count of commission of a violent offense in the presence of a child.

Because the death penalty is being sought, the suspect will be held without bail.

‘I choose my faith’: TV anchor resigns after tearful Charlie Kirk tribute leads to suspension

An Illinois news anchor resigned from her position on Monday after allegedly being suspended for an on-air Charlie Kirk tribute.

Beni Rae Harmony told viewers in the “non-partisan tribute” on Friday that it is “okay” for people to grieve Kirk’s death and to “lean on your neighbors, speak up for what you believe in, I don’t care what it is.”

Harmony says she was suspended from WICS, ABC’s Springfield, Illinois affiliate, following the tribute. (RELATED: University Caves, Purges Faculty Who Mocked Kirk’s Death After Initial Defiance)

“When conversations stop happening, when individuals become wordless, that’s when violence begins,” Harmony said in her on-air tribute, quoting Kirk. “So if you do one thing today, make it be with passion, with conviction, stand up for your friends, stand up for your beliefs and speak loudly even if your voice shakes. Your words have meaning, your values have purpose, never forget that.”

“Thank you CK, you changed my life,” Harmony continued.

Harmony said Kirk was her “mentor,” first boss and “first person who made me believe in myself.”

Harmony and WICS-ABC 20 did not respond to the Daily Caller News Foundation’s request for comment.

“Many in the mainstream media have been fired or punished for mocking his assassination. I believe I am the first to be targeted for honoring him on air,” Harmony said in an X post announcing her resignation. “My resignation is guided by values that are essential to who I am, which I refuse to set aside in order to keep a job. I choose my faith and love of country, and always will.”

Kirk, founder of Turning Point USA, was assassinated during a campus event at Utah Valley University on Wednesday. Several individuals have been fired or suspended for mocking Kirk’s assassination online.
