Happy 2016, Everyone~

Why not start the new year with a new genre?
I've been working on a brand new bad boy, bad ass MC series I can't wait to share with you!!
These books are dark romance. There is sex, but not erotica, like many MC stories. These are alpha males who take what they want and kill to keep what they own.

If you'd like a sneak peek, I've posted a few character quotes and story snippets on my Facebook author page over the past few months. It's not enough to give away the story, but enough to introduce you to Smoke and Baylee, and let you see a little bit of who they are. You can visit and 'LIKE' the page for updates: https://www.facebook.com/LaurenSharma...

If you have questions or would like to contact me, I love hearing from readers! Shoot me an email anytime LaurenSharman@gmail.com .

Here's wishing you all a safe, happy, and healthy 2016.

Happy reading!!

REVIEW:
Diesel Garmin was a hard-working teen with an abusive father when he was forced to marry the very young and shy, timid, Kady, in a literal shotgun wedding. Knowing Kady deserves only the best, Diesel seeks to better himself by leaving; following in his brother Kage's footsteps as a bounty hunter. Five years later, Diesel shows up on Kady’s doorstep, but it's not without consequence. Kady is in awe of the sexy alpha male standing before her, but has a hard time reconciling the boy who left with the man that returned. Adding the fact that she feels she can't trust him, throws a kink into being able to pick up where they left off.

The characters of Diesel and Kady, separately, were exceptional…each growing into their own as adults, but separately from one another. Together as a couple, they’re explosive with sexual tension sizzling in the air around them. I adore Diesel and Kady together because there is a base of best friendship, and knowing that each loved the other in a very special way BEFORE they were forced to get married. They’re so right for each other. There is a purity there that no outside source can possibly touch. As they get older and Diesel comes back home, he's confronted with a very different Kady. She's all grown up, sexy, self reliant; no longer the insecure young girl he left behind.

There are some secondary characters I only wish were actual people, so I could hit them a time or two and make them stop their devious ways. Kage and Diesel, along with Journey and Kady, work well as a team against the villains. You’ll understand what I mean when you read the book. Kage and Diesel have that chemistry only brothers have; quite a few times they made me laugh. Journey and Kady make the perfect sisters-in-law…each needing a true sister to stand by her. There were some funny moments when they were one hundred percent girly girls. I loved it. The twist to this captivating plot was the paranormal element. It was unexpected, but added a bonus of extra flare to Bad Intentions, making the story that much more believable.

Once again, Ms. Sharman has produced a pulse-pounding read with her newest romantic suspense novel, Bad Intentions. She never fails to surprise me with her attention to detail and unique ability to write what, on the outside looks like a typical bad boy, but in such an intriguing way. It's evident that Ms. Sharman is comfortable and confidant in the world in which she writes. Any of her numerous books contain characters I can relate to, and quite honestly, I wouldn't mind being a leading lady of any of those stories. Don't ask me to choose which one, though, because I love all the alphas in all of her books for myriad of different reasons.

The one thing that saddens me is this is the last book in this two book series. Bad Intentions is the sequel to Reckless Bounty. Ms. Sharman would make me the happiest girl in the world if, by some miracle, there was a final book that included the McCassey's and the Garmins. Now that would be an explosive book!

Wondering how Diesel & Kady 'met'?
Enjoy this last excerpt from Bad Intentions before the book is released November 1st.

A high-pitched scream.
A loud splash.
From his spot along the bank of the swollen, fast-moving creek, fifteen-year-old Diesel sat up at the sound of a scream, watching in disbelief as a little girl fell into the rushing water. Able to grab hold of a branch from a fallen tree, she fought desperately to keep the wild current from pulling her under.
Because she looked seconds away from losing her grip, Diesel didn’t even take the time to remove his boots before diving into the ice-cold water. The second he surfaced, he began fighting his way through the current, putting the bone-chilling temperature out of his mind; focusing solely on the coughing, choking girl. When he reached her, she twisted her head away from the splashing water and her terror-filled, light brown eyes met his.
His left hand firmly gripping the tree, Diesel extended his right. “Take my hand!” he shouted.
Her teeth were chattering and her lips were purple. She shook her head and screamed, “I c-can’t!”
“Yes, you can!” he hollered above the roar of the water, “come on!” He motioned to her, and she let go of the branch, grabbing frantically for Diesel’s outreached hand. Her fingertips brushed his, but the strength of the water swept the tiny girl away before he could get a hold on her.
Diesel let go of the branch.
With long, powerful strokes, he swam after her. He couldn’t let her die; he refused to allow her life to slip through his fingers.
When he got close, he saw her hands rise and grope the air, searching for something to grab onto as she started to go under. When she was obviously too exhausted to continue fighting, she stopped struggling and disappeared under the water.
Again, Diesel gave it everything he had, using all his strength to navigate his way toward her. Exhausted; his lungs burned. He caught up to the girl just as her limp body surfaced. Fighting for air, Diesel’s arm shot out and snagged her shirt, and he pulled her to him. With her back to his front, one arm kept her head above water; the other he used to propel them toward shore.
Once Diesel was able to touch the bottom with his feet, he curled his arms around the girl’s body, lifted her against his chest, and walked up to the bank. Exhausted, he dropped to his knees and laid her on her back. After realizing she wasn’t breathing, he ignored the panic trying to take over and checked to see if she still had a pulse. He was relieved when he felt one, and positioned her to begin the rescue breathing he’d learned in health class at school. When she began to cough, he rolled her onto her side.
“That’s it girl,” he said, making an effort to keep his voice calm, “get it all out.”
She coughed and spit a few more times, then took a deep, shuddering breath. Relieved she seemed to be okay; Diesel put his hand behind her back and gently helped her sit up. To his surprise, she immediately bowed her head and stared at the ground.
“Thanks, Diesel,” she mumbled, her voice raspy, “I can’t swim.”
As the reality of what just happened sank in, Diesel’s body suddenly felt limp. He sat next to her. “Are you okay?” He reached out to touch a scratch on her arm, but she flinched, so he backed off. “I’m sorry, did that hurt?”
“No.”
He didn’t believe her.
Why wouldn’t she look at him?
“It’s okay to say so when something hurts,” he said, trying to think of what his mother would tell the little girl if she was there. Marylou Garmin had always had an answer for everything. “I get hurt all the time. When I was younger, sometimes I even cried.” The admission stung his pride, but he didn’t understand the girl’s lack of emotion.
“My dad doesn’t like to hear me cry,” she admitted. “He usually offers to give me something to cry about, but he doesn’t really need to. I have enough to cry about already. He just doesn’t understand.”
Diesel felt angry. “Well, your father’s not here,” he reminded her, “so if you want to cry, go ahead.”
For the first time since they’d climbed out of the water, the girl raised her head and glanced up, allowing Diesel to get a good look at her. What concerned him wasn’t that she looked vaguely familiar, even though he was curious about her identity. What bothered him was her appearance. She was soaked to the bone and shivering. Her lips were still purple, and her hair—full of leaves and dirt—was matted to her face. She was small, delicate, and looked as though she’d break if handled too roughly. The bridge of her nose was dotted with freckles, and her eyes, focused intently on his, were full of unshed tears.
Something inside Diesel snapped. He rose to his knees and opened his arms, holding them out to her. She was on her feet and clinging to him within seconds...
