Welcome to our regular “Ask the Cat Doc With Dr. Lynn Bahr” segment! Once a month, Dr. Bahr answers as many of your questions as she can, and you can leave new questions for her in a comment.
Dr. Bahr graduated from the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine in 1991. Unlike most veterinarians, she did not grow up knowing that she would become a veterinarian. “It was a cat who got me interested in the practice and I am forever grateful to him...

Mews and Nips: Cats Fall in Love After Seeing Each Other Through Windows
It all started with a photo posted by Twitter user “Mac” of her cat Simon gazing adoringly through a window at another cat in a neighboring building. “My cat Simon is in love with my neighbor’s cat,” tweeted Mac. Trixie Baza Scratching Post, Hammock and Condo
I recently came across this little cat tree with a hammock on top and wanted to share it with you, because so many cats love hammocks. It’s advertised as a cat tree, but at 20 inches high, I’d hardly call it a “tree.” Despite the lack of height, I think this is a fun piece of furniture that will appeal to a lot of cats.
It comes in two different configurations: just the hammock, or with a plush little condo at the base.
Both versions feature super plush fabric and sisal wrapped scratching...

Allegra, Ruby and the Jackson Galaxy Donut Bed Switch

We all know cats are creatures of habit. They tend to follow the same routine day after day, and they don’t much appreciate a disruption of that routine. If you’ve followed me for a while, you also know how much Allegra and Ruby love their Jackson Galaxy Donut Beds – in fact, they love them so much that I had to get a second one to keep the peace!
After I got the second bed, the girls pretty much each claimed their own bed. Allegra preferred the one up ag...
