It does take some consistent work using some of the time-tested practices I share in Inquire Within. Calming practices like tai chi, qigong or yoga, getting outside in Nature, being creative with art or a hobby, and going on a "low information diet" by turning off the news and putting down the smart phone can all help make you feel more relaxed and happier. Quantum physics and neuroscience studies show that saying positive affirmations and changing to more positive language as well as practices like being grateful can all help make you happier.

Sometimes when we are struggling and very depressed or unhappy, we can't quite imagine getting all the way to happy and joyous. Sometimes just getting to "neutral" is more realistic and a worthwhile accomplishment.

This said, if you do feel severely unhappy or depressed or are contemplating suicide, please connect with a health care professional for care.

Midnight at Heather Meadows

Dear Ones, warm August greetings to you.

As the recent new moon of 28 July approached I began imagining an astrophotography composition that would include a tree under the Milky Way. I thought of Heather Meadows, an oft-visited locale out the Mount Baker Scenic Byway, just below famed Artist Point.

I arrived at the alpine wonderland of Heather Meadows around 4 pm the day after the new moon, cook

“The practice of living in Spirit is like polishing a stone. No matter how rough the stone may have been, with perseverance and gentle care it will eventually shine, revealing the inner beauty and divine essence which was there all along. Within each of us lies a heavenly gem, waiting patiently for us beneath the surface of our conditioning. It is ready to be handled with our loving kindness that it may again shine radiantly and majestically, in harmony with all things in this grand and mysterious world.”
James K. Papp, Inquire Within: A Guide to Living in Spirit

“A positive attitude eventually begets positive experiences. Choose to be happy. Decide you are well or happy instead of unwell or unhappy, and your experience of living will begin to shift. The mind is the one thing in this world we are able to control, so let’s control it!”
James K. Papp, Inquire Within: A Guide to Living in Spirit

“It has been well demonstrated that you can change your life by changing your attitude toward it. People ask, “How is life treating you?” A better question is, “How are you treating life?”

“Love who and what you are and what you do. Laugh at yourself and at life, and nothing can touch you. It’s all temporary anyway. Next lifetime you will do it differently anyway, so why not do it differently right now?”
Louise L. Hay, You Can Heal Your Life

“Flexibility makes buildings to be stronger, imagine what it can do to your soul.”
Carlos Barrios

“When we create peace and harmony and balance in our minds, we will find it in our lives.”
