First review for The crossover Year
The 'firsts' are always special.. And this review by Kirthi Jayakumar is super special because the lady in question is an awesome writer herself.. I've been so nervous the past few days about how the book will be perceived and Kirthi's review reinforced my desire to keep writing books without worrying about how well/badly they do..With every book , I've felt like I have carved out a portion of myself and put it out for the entire world's scrutiny and that's a scary thing for someone who...

Of Gems , nail polishes , Inflation and random rambling
So I got my nails painted in a questionable shade of Rani Pink (umm.. I wanted fluorescent yellow, but settled for this slightly gaudy looking colour ..Which is the craziest colour I have ever tried) Considering the fact that I am not even a nail polish kind of a person. But Lately Kareena Kapoor has been tempting me with yellow and green and what-not-crazy-neon-colour painted finger tips from the pages of mags , that I had to try something different from the standard peach/pink/nude nail pai...

Mothers , I say !
"Look at that girl smoking like a chimney outside our house," the mother exclaimed.
I went out to check out the chimney scenario and saw a girl gloriously smoking away. Was I surprised or what? I 've seen women smoking in pubs and even at work places in Chennai. But never one in a residential area in broad daylight. I don't advocate smoking , but was thrilled to find that women finally have decided to climb out of the closet and smoke openly.Yeah, I cheered for her for...

When I grow up...
So many books to read.. Wish there were more hours in a day to read them all. I remember when I was a kid all I wanted to do was to work for a library. Reason being , I would get to read books everyday for free. The more I think about this , the more I feel that I should have probably done just that. Only childhood can let us unravel desires so uncomplicated and full of passion. I also remember how a friend and I co-wrote a book of short stories (on pink chart paper with sketch pen) and tried...

Googleitis..
Can't believe this.. Analytics for this blog tells me that most people come into the blog searching for ... wait for it... Bean bag patterns!Incidentally, the most popular (in terms of hits) post also happens to be a post I wrote about filling bean bags..The other thing that brings people into the blog is 'How to bedazzle stuff?'. Seriously? Just get a glue-gun and stick away. Why do you need Google to tell you that? People Google strange things - I know a friend who types in 'How will my day...
