Mark Starmer was born and grew up in the UK. Following a law degree, Mark spent 25 years working as a people development professional, working as both an employee (he held the most senior management development position for HSBC, the international banking giant) and as head of Proactive Consulting International, the global human resource development company he founded in 1997. His 1999 book 'Will the Real Leader Please Stand Up?' became a European bestseller and demand for Mark's services as an expert in leadership saw him work with the nationals of 55 countries on 4 continents.
