Shameless Self-Promotion…

I loved his book, Twisted Tales

MetallicWolff

Hey Folks-

Did you know that, not only do I write amazing book reviews, I also write pseudo-amazing books and short stories? It’s true.

I’m not a huge fan of self-promotion, as I’m not good at it, but when I happened to see that all sales have flat-lined…I figured I might as well give it another shot. Don’t worry, this won’t be a regular occurrence.

I have 5 books out there. Pretty much all geared towards YA readers, but adults have been known to...

Winter’s Romance Anthology Sale!

The Winter’s Romance anthology is on sale for 1.99 from March 11th thru the 13th! In it you will find lots of amazing authors as well as myself. I wrote a short for it titled Mid-Winter Celebration and those of you who are chomping at the bit for the 4th Dragon’s Call book will want to read that story as it leads into the 4th book. Granted the short takes place well before the beginning of the 4th book but it hints at things to come. The characters in it will be unfamiliar, but don’t worry, y...

Some Girls Get Roses…

But what use of cut flowers do I have? None. I don’t care for cut roses. To me, it seems silly for one to pledge their undying love to another with flowers that are dying. Thankfully, my husband of twenty-one years knows this well and knows me well. Instead he bought me something that makes me truly happy. More than happy, I’m ecstatic! So while some girls are getting roses and chocolates, I got this!

Yes, that is what you think it is. A load of grass hay, stacked up. One of the most beautif...

Home Made Everything Bagels

A while back I posted a pic on Facebook of my home made everything bagels and had several requests for the recipe. However, at the time, I was finishing up the final edits for Bound by Legend and listening to and approving the last chapters the audio copy of Ashes and Spirits.

Now that I’m done with that and the audio for Ashes is out and Bound by Legend is in the hands of my designers/formatters, and I have this lovely day of chilly temps and fifty mile an hour wind gusts that keeps me insid...

An Eggsperiment

Last summer, our chickens went into egg laying overtime. We had one fridge completely full of cartons and several more cartons in another fridge. Eggs were everywhere. No sooner did we get some cleared out then more filled in the vacant spots.

We had read they could be frozen for cooking. Deciding this was a good idea, we began. Two eggs, beat up, to a small ziplock, laid flat to freeze, then stacked. Many, many eggs were stored this way. We figured they could be used during holiday baking.

H...

Disliking February

February is not my favorite month and this year its shaping up to my most disliked month ever. It has always been my least creative month and right now it feels like a month of waiting. Waiting for spring, waiting for gardening, waiting for ACX to approve audio files, waiting for the cover for my newest book. That last in no way reflects my designers, they are working just fine within the agreed upon timeline. It just reflects my total lack of patience right now.

I have fence to move, a garde...

“You Have No Power Over Me” : Why the movie Labyrinth matters

A great post well worth reading

Views From the Tesseract

I was a kid of the 1980s. I was a SF/Fantasy loving kid who ate up movies and books with the full glee of a kid creating their pop culture references for the first time. I was there to watch Elliot lay a trail of Reeses Pieces for E.T. I was there to sob as Artax was swallowed in the pits of Despair (quick edit! It’s actually the Swamps of Sadness as a commenter pointed out–the Pits of Despair is indeed from the Princess Bride). It wa...

On Self Publishing

This

Lorna George

Being self published does not make me any less of an author.

I know there’s a stigma against that part of the industry, and I think it’s a culmination of there being some really bad work, some frankly embarrassing cover art, and all of the social media fiascos where these authors can sometimes go off at reviewers. I’ve seen it myself, so I’m not oblivious to these things, and I realise that if this is your only experience with self publishing it would be a huge turn off.

But...
