Saturday Snippet

My newest creation just went out to my editor! It’s primary genre will be Fantasy Romance, with Young Adult as its second genre. This is the first time I’ve written a book in first person and quite frankly, it’s been a lot of fun. It’s been quite a different journey to tell a story from the point of view of a single character. Book two of this series is already halfway written. Book three already has its title. And all three books already have release dates for next year.

(for the Dragon’s Ca...

Halloween Traditions

While most people are gearing up for the Halloween holiday by creating or buying costumes, getting things ready to either trick or treat or receive trick or treaters, we are doing something different.

It started years ago when my oldest two boys decided they didn’t want to trick or treat anymore. They were around the ages of seven and nine and just didn’t want to anymore. They’ve never been big candy eaters and after eating a few pieces that night, a few the next day, the bags of candy would...

Potato Soup

I posted about making potato soup the other day on social media and had several requests for the recipe. The first time I ever had potato soup it was at a little coffee shop and where it was just okay, I knew it could be so much better. So I set about making my own. I’ve tweaked, added, and adjusted it until I have a potato soup I love. Now, the measurements on seasonings aren’t all exact, but I will do my best to give an idea of how much. Also, keep in mind that I cook for seven people, so t...

Art is easy! Right?

A lot of people think that writing is sitting down at the computer (or maybe type writer, or maybe with a notebook and pen) and just putting down words. It has to be easy. I mean, how hard could it be to just put words down, right?

Oh if only…

When people read a book, they take in the scenery described, the scents, the sounds, the conversations, it’s often like a movie in their head. But when you are on the other side, you have to think of every single word, every conversation (yay, you get t...

ad_quest_dreamwalker_s_bennett_preorderI had the good fortune of getting read Ms Bennet’s new book, Quest of the Dreamwalker. I thoroughly enjoyed it. The e-book is now available for preorder on Amazon.

To give you a little taste of what’s between the pages, she wanted to share this excerpt.

When she opened her eyes, Father stood before her. Reith Carter’s death had restored the old man’s power. His face was fleshed out, his hands smooth, his height restored. And there was a dangerous gleam in his eye.

“What mischief have you d...

Homemade Bread Recipe

Okay, things finally settled down long enough (and I finally quit working on my next book long enough) to post the bread recipe numerous people asked for. It’s quite simple and easy to make.

Yes, I know, there is a small air bubble at the top, still better than store bought bread.
