Thank you so much for your kind reply and for sharing the inspiration behind Bangkok Burning. Knowing it grew out of your time as a foreign correspondent in Bangkok makes perfect sense. The authenticity and vivid characters really stand out, and that sense that truth is stranger than fiction stayed with me long after I finished the book.
I’ve gone ahead and added my review on Goodreads, as I genuinely believe it’s a strong and engaging novel. I did notice the review count is a bit lower than expected for a book of this quality, and I’d be very happy to help increase its visibility and reach more readers who would truly appreciate it.
I’m also intrigued by your new thriller When the Darkness Swallowed the Sun. The comparison to The Beach definitely caught my attention, and I’m looking forward to reading it.
