Book Lover’s Blog Hop: You know what they say about opinions right?

This blog hop is organised via the Facebook group Bookish Blog Hops and runs from 1st- 31st July 2018. During the blog hop members of the group will be coming together to answer bookish questions (you can find the complete schedule for the blog hop down below at the end of this post).

And now on to today’s question…
Where Do You Post About the Books You Read?

Brandy Potter

I am glad I am not the only one plugging hahahah. I post at Brandy Potter Books mostly.  This is linked to twitter, facebook, tumbler and good reads.

I also post reviews on amazon especially for newer authors because I know the value of the reviews for the sales ranking algorithm.

Click here for a presentation all about reviews and Amazon from Promo Day 2015.

.
Jo Linsdell             www.jolinsdell.com

I do video reviews for my Youtube channel and embed them in blog posts at www.JoLinsdell.com and www.writersandauthors.info.

I sometimes do a short summary review and post it on a graphic for sharing on my other social media platforms like; Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram. I also post on Goodreads, and if  I can, Amazon.

Leslie Conzatti          www.upstreamwriter.blogspot.com

Most of the books I read, if they’re library books, I only pretty much log them on Goodreads. Indie-published books, however, can be found on my blog, under the “Reader’s Review” tab.

Each time I feature a review on my blog, I also post the review to Amazon and Goodreads. Additionally, I share the review on my Facebook Author page, www.facebook.com/leslieconzattiwriter.

I post mostly on my blog, though I’m way behind because writing has taken precedence over reading these days. I also try to post reviews on Amazon.

I’m still trying to set up a routine for that, but I am most active on my Instagram.

I post to that multiple times a week and record stories about the progress I’m making in books and updates on life stuff. I do have that set up to post to my Twitter and Facebook automatically, but that’s mostly by default.

I’m not as active on those accounts and maybe login once a week. My blog though has a mind of its own, which is why I’m trying to sync things up. I have so many backlogged, scheduled posts that sometimes my blog is posting about a book I read months ago, just to finally post about it in between what I’m currently reading.

Come check them all out though, and I promise I’m trying to catch up and sync things up better!

Book Lover’s Blog Hop: Do you believe in second chances?

This blog hop is organised via the Facebook group Bookish Blog Hops and runs from 1st- 31st July 2018. During the blog hop members of the group will be coming together to answer bookish questions (you can find the complete schedule for the blog hop down below at the end of this post).

And now on to today’s question…
What is your favorite Second chance romance?

Brandy Potter

[image error]For me, Birthright by Nora Roberts is a great second chance love story. The couple in question split because of many misunderstandings and issues from their childhood.

Another favorite is Heart of Evil, by Heather Graham. Jake and Ashley just work and the reason they split is believable!

Both of these books also contain the element of mystery and suspense too which always works for me.

.

Jo Linsdell
             www.jolinsdell.com

[image error]So many books to choose from for this one so I’m just going to pick one off my shelf and go with More to Life than This by Carole Matthews.

About the book:

Kate Lewis is thirty-five and feeling restless. She’s fed up of worrying about the ironing and would like her husband Jeffrey to pay more attention to her than his golf clubs. There must be more to life than this!

Kate enrolls herself on a T’ai Chi course and takes best friend Sonia along for the ride. She’s determined to ‘find herself’ but it’s easier said than done, especially when she finds the distracting Ben Mahler first . .

I definitely enjoy 2nd chance love stories. I can’t think of a specific story. But why shouldn’t people who have grown have a second chance at love?

Book Lover’s Blog Hop: You remember when they said…

This blog hop is organised via the Facebook group Bookish Blog Hops and runs from 1st- 31st July 2018. During the blog hop members of the group will be coming together to answer bookish questions (you can find the complete schedule for the blog hop down below at the end of this post).

And now on to today’s question…
What is a quote from a book that you will never forget?

Brandy Potter

This quest may be attempted by the weak with as much hope as the strong. Yet such is oft the course of deeds that move the wheels of the world: small hands do them because they must, while the eyes of the great are elsewhere.

~ Elrond, Lord of the Rings, J.R.R. Tolkein

Education never ends, Watson. It is a series of lessons with the greatest for the last. ~ Sherlock Holmes, The Red Circle.

Jo Linsdell
             www.jolinsdell.com

[image error]Two quotes by the talented J.K. Rowling:

“Every human life is worth the same, and worth saving.” from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

“It is our choices that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities.” ~ Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.

“It’s no use going back to yesterday, because I was a different person then.” by the wonderful Lewis Carroll ~ Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland

“To define is to limit.” by Oscar Wilde ~ The Picture of Dorian Gray.

.
Leslie Conzatti          www.upstreamwriter.blogspot.com

“People observe the colors of a day only at the beginnings and ends, but to me it’s quite clear that a day merges through a multitude of shades and intonations, with each passing moment. A single hour can consist of thousands of different colors. Waxy yellows, cloud-spat blues. Murky darknesses. In my line of work, I make it a point to notice them.” ~The Book Thief by Markus Zusak

“Good writers touch life often. The mediocre ones run a quick hand over her. The bad ones [ravish] her and leave her for the flies.”

~Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury

.
Casia Schreyer         www.casiaschreyer.wordpress.com

I’m more likely to remember lines from songs than from books, and as soon as someone asks a question like this I blank. I recall quotes because they fit a situation. I think one that has stuck with me is:

“All the same, we do not kneel” said by Mance Rayder, the King Beyond the Wall, to Stannis Baratheon (Song of Fire and Ice, A Clash of Kings).

“Here comes Edward Bear down the stairs, bump, bump, bump on the back of his head,” is one I say to the kids all the time. (Which is, of course, the first line of Winnie the Pooh).

“Stupid, stupid Rat Creatures!” From Bone Book 2: The Great Cow Race

.
Kelly Quintos         www.tangled in text.com

“We just tiptoe around things, afraid we’ll offend or look ignorant, be misunderstood. Honesty is a risk few are willing to take.” ~ Flow by Kennedy Ryan

.
Rachael Beardsley        https://variancefiction.wordpress.com/

“I don’t think mother’s advice can be right, because what are you supposed to do if you become part of the suffering? You’d be completely lost. On the contrary, beauty remains, even in misfortune. If you could just look for it, you discover more and more happiness and regain your balance. A person who’s happy will make others happy; a person who has courage and faith will never die in misery!”

~Anne Frank the Diary of a Young Girl

Book Lover’s Blog Hop: OOOO Where is the Sequel!

This blog hop is organised via the Facebook group Bookish Blog Hops and runs from 1st- 31st July 2018. During the blog hop members of the group will be coming together to answer bookish questions (you can find the complete schedule for the blog hop down below at the end of this post).

And now on to today’s question…

.

Which Book Do You Wish Had a Sequel?

Brandy Potter

So I really want Pride and Prejudice to have a GOOD sequel. I think there are such great characters in all of The Bennets and Darcy’s sister and Bingley’s sister.. Dear lord it could be such a great book.  And yes I know they exist, but I haven’t seen one written true to Austin’s characterization yet.

Also, The Collector by Nora Roberts. I love that couple. Truly love them. I am not really sure why, but I honestly think they made a great “laymen” team for investigation. Ash might not think so though, he was kind of a worry wart!

Jo Linsdell

             www.jolinsdell.com

[image error]I really want Geekerella by Ashley Poston to have a sequel with Sage as the main character. There is still so much more to know about this awesome character and the end of Geekerella set up nicely for the story to continue. I’d also love to have a spin-off about Starfield, the fictional TV series featured in the book. Geekerella is a love letter to every fan-girl/boy out

Leslie Conzatti
            www.upstreamwriter.blogspot.com

[image error]There are a few books I’ve read that I’ve enjoyed so much that I would want a sequel, just to continue exploring the world and the characters!

It started with a lovely series begun by a friend’s relative, The Starlight Proverbs by Darren E. Barber. It was going to be the first in a series called “Tales from the Late Remian Empire” and the world-building just smacked of Old Britain classic fantasy…. But alas, he was one of the victims of vanity press Tate Publishing, so when that went belly-up… now the book isn’t even available anymore. Is sad.

Also, one of the first indie books I ever reviewed was called Warriors of The Edge: The Search for Stone by Katie Bridges. A LitRPG book ahead of its time, it was comparable to Ernest Cline’s Ready Player One, and I would have loved to see a sequel…. But again, the spendy “vanity press” option ends up squelching the author… and it doesn’t appear that she’s even written any more books, much less considered continuing the series.

All is not lost, though! I am fairly certain the paranormal investigator novel Murder In Absentia by Assaph Mehr, will have sequels, as the series has a title, “Felix the Fox” (think “Dresden Files in Ancient Rome”), so I have another series to look forward to!

Speaking of Dresden Files…

I really love Jim Butcher’s Aeronaut’s Windlass and I really hope that the series, “Cinder Spires” will take off!

Casia Schreyer         www.casiaschreyer.wordpress.com

[image error]I am desperate for the 6th book in A Song of Ice and Fire by George RR Martin (commonly referred to as Game of Thrones which is actually the title of book 1). I have all five books and I’ve been waiting 6 years (it’ll be 7 in December) for book 6. I know this because my brother-in-law bought me A Dance with Dragons for Christmas the year my daughter was born.
