Brandy Potter lives in Maryland with her daughter and pets. She has been writing since she was 9 years old. She has several published poems, but Venomous Lives was her first published novel. Currently in development are a crime novel, a mafia story, a screenplay and another semi autobiographical story that is a long lost love story.

Brandy works in various genres including Sci-Fi Fantasy, Crime, and many others. She says she is not genre driven but rather she is character or story driven. She finds her stories come to her in many ways. Sometimes she sees a specific scene in a dream or just in her head. [image error]

The only one that I can think of is The Notebook by Nicolas Sparks. I can honestly say it is the ONLY Sparks novel that I could get through. However, I find Ally and Noah to be great characters and the fact that their love grows and goes on from the doomed summer romances of real life is a great change.

“It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune, must be in want of a wife." ~ Jane Austin.

Arguably one of the best opening lines in literary history (I said ARGUABLY doesn't mean I want to argue). However, to make it a modern retelling it would have to read:

It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man or women in possession of a good fortune, just treading water or so broke it aint no joke, must be in want of a life partner.”

“I love writing. I love the swirl and swing of words as they tangle with human emotions”
James Michener

“Being an artist doesn't take much. Just everything you got. Which means of course that as the process is giving you life, it is also bringing you closer to death. But it's no big deal. They are one in the same and cannot be avoided or denied. So when I totally embrace this process, this life/death, and abandon myself to it completely, I transcend all this gibberish and hang out with the gods. It seems to me that that is worth the price of admission.”
Hubert Selby Jr.

“A single thread can unravel the tapestry while that same thread can make another stronger”
