Librarian Note: Also writes under the pen name Lana Maht Wiggins.

Irreverent weirdo scribe who lives to tell tall tales. You'll often find Lana M. Wiggins hunched over her desk at 3:00am with a steaming cup of tea in each hand while frantically writing stories her characters dictate to her. She loves the adventures these characters take her on with or without her permission, because they take her to places she might never go to otherwise, like Heaven and Hell, or perhaps an old cemetery to witness Voodoo rituals and Pagan rites of passage. Sometimes she hangs out in tiny villages in Scotland, or big cities like London, Paris, New York, or New Orleans to remind her that life is in session. But mostly, you'll find her in a classroom or coffee

The right music always sets the tone for the scenes I'm having trouble writing. Whether it's a dark, eerie scene, or a romantic/erotic scene, I let the music guide my mood to create the scene. If music fails to inspire me, I meditate and visualize my characters in the setting. My characters are so familiar to me, I rarely have trouble with this, but sometimes, I have to let the scene stew for days. I never beat myself up over lack of inspiration. The process of ebb and flow is normal. If all else fails, I go back to the beginning, and start the editing process. Staying in the story, one way or another, is crucial.(less)

More books by Lana M. Wiggins…

Since the semester break began a few weeks ago, I’ve gotten a lot of work done on both the cover design and the editing/polishing of Book 4: Gods in the Onyx, scheduled to be released this summer. I also wrote quite a bit in Book 5: Dead Party, adding life to a few rough-hewn scenes/chapters, as well as introducing 13 minor characters to prop up the majors, but one of them is developing into an...

"Hard to put down

This story gets better with each chapter. It was quite hard to find a place to stop. I love the characters and the setting of New Orleans. I can see these books being made into a series that would rival the likes True Blood." Read more of this review »
