I write dark, speculative fiction – sometimes with a paranormal edge. I have a novel coming out in 2016/17, and a collection of short stories due before that. I am variously fuelled by caffeine, whisky, and sometimes caffeine and whisky at the same time. I like writing to weird electronic music, and my ambition is to live in the Portuguese countryside with a couple of goats and a cat named ‘Barry’ (or maybe ‘Barrihno’).

Money Money Money by Adrian Tannock

Dystopian fiction and money. The two go hand in glove. We’ll look at this in more detail. But first, a quick word from everybody’s favorite Professor, Stephen Hawking, in the press this week detailing his adventures in zero-gravity.

An adventurous soul, Hawking takes up daredevil opportunities whenever they arise. Variously, this has included visits to Antartica, traveling in a submarine, a...

I love the writing of Iain Banks, and although this was a gentle read for the most part (drink, drugs, murder, tragic childhood events, etc. notwithstanding), I still enjoyed it a great deal.
