Interstellar Travel: Laser Sails and Tractor Beams If Einstein is right, then it’s impossible to get to Alpha Centauri in less than 4.3 years. If Newton is right, then getting there in a fraction of a human lifetime, though possible, is extremely difficult. Tsiolkovsky’s Rocket Equation tells us you would need an immense amount of […]

A lot of hard sf bigthink, though the Pooles, father and son, are cliched evil businessmen. (And stupid ones, too--they build a wormhole to Saturn and its moons before discovering it won't be profitable?)

I voted this the #1 fantasy novel of the 20th century in Locus' late-2012 poll. Deftly written, an evocative archipelago world, and an unexpected but perfect ending. This novel gets closer to the heart of the fantasy impulse than Tolkien, let alone J ...more

E.M. Tippetts Looks good!

Raymund Eich Emily, how does raymundeich.com look now?

Raymund Eich That's a good reminder that I copy over my books-links pages from cv2books.com.

E.M. Tippetts I will! I went to your site but don't see specific links to your books. Are you going to set up an a-store for yourself with Amazon?

Raymund Eich Maybe May 2012? Keep me posted!

E.M. Tippetts Not scheduled yet. They just bought it a couple of weeks ago or so. They'd be just receiving the contracts and all that stuff.

Raymund Eich I remember talking about the Jovian moons way back when. Analog! When's it coming out?

E.M. Tippetts I am Ramund's only friend :-)

Oh, and Raymund, that short story you helped me with eight years ago? It's coming out in Analog and still has the character named after you. (You helped me figure out how the Jovian moons would look from Ganymede.)
