I’m author Lauren Lynne. The good side of growing up is that you can write whatever you want. The downside... now I can’t read it without my glasses! I have the soul of an adventurer but when it comes to actual danger, I’m the one running the other way. I must be an armchair adventure hound since I’m drawn to suspense, intrigue, and action when it comes to reading, writing, and film.
I spent my childhood in Milwaukie, Oregon and I'm a graduate of both Oregon State University and Portland State University with degrees in education. I’ve been passionate about reading my whole life, but my professional writing is a more recent adventure. For my sons and my students, I wrote The Secret Watchers series. Today, I have fans from age 10 to 93. Hear

Hi John,
I do travel occasionally. Usually I am traveling because I have to. I use places that I have been but I don't just go somewhere so I can write about it. Maybe one day I will be in a position to do that.

My advice is to write from what you know. I'm from the Portland Oregon area so my stories are based here for the most part. Other general inspiration tips... read, watch a movie, or go somewhere where you can watch people (like a park or the mall). Latch onto a character and blend in how you would feel about a situation. Dig deep. How does your body react when you are say... really nervous? When we add those feelings to writing the reader can really understand and relate to the character.
