What writer I am becoming depends on how well I strive to capitvate and entertain. This motto drives deep within me. I failed and failed and failed. Then, by some turn of the dice, I decided to quit writing. Then one day in August, which by the way is the month lady luck always strips me down or builds me up, my pen was no longer at rest.

My hobby dictates which mountain I will climb, which pond I will drink from, and which desert I will eat in, however, I do not need to climb, or eat, or drink until I finish this goddamn novel: Sleeper Agent. Out in 2021. Hopefully, a movie in 2023.

Is that too ambitious? Who knows. All I know is failure is a friend of mine, and friends like company, so I am inviting success into my life. They can share a

A Final Kiss (Romance)
1 chapters   —   updated May 14, 2015 04:22PM
Description: A Final Kiss is a romantic novel that paints a vista of forced fate—the destiny of four people’s lives, loves, and passions that twirl around the tip of your tongue as you taste the perfect blend of poetry and prose. Jack and Jane are lovers, with individually diverse histories, who set out to unite their futures. The couple are both already married, and share a desire for true love whilst expressing a profane sense of what defines a healthy relationship, and watching them teeter on the brink of destiny as they face universal questions of the human condition, such as: Is love enough to keep us together? Does our lives together have meaning? provides a raw honesty that is deeply moving and unforgettable.

More of Mark's books…
“When the flames of life are gnawing away at your butt, run faster, quicker, and harder than you've ever run before, because I guarantee it that life will condition you, harder than any trainer ever will.
When you state to yourself with the utter most believe, “I will achieve this,” than you are on the path, and this is when life throws obstacles left, right, straight on and which other way, but keep going. Because you will make it”
Mark O'Brien

“The enchanted day is only enchanted if we ourselves believe that anything is possible.”
Mark O'Brien

“The more you read within a balanced life, the more time you have. Strange but true.”
Mark O'Brien

“The first draft of anything is shit.”
Ernest Hemingway

“If we listened to our intellect we'd never have a love affair. We'd never have a friendship. We'd never go in business because we'd be cynical: "It's gonna go wrong." Or "She's going to hurt me." Or,"I've had a couple of bad love affairs, so therefore . . ." Well, that's nonsense. You're going to miss life. You've got to jump off the cliff all the time and build your wings on the way down.”
Ray Bradbury

“Go for broke. Always try and do too much. Dispense with safety nets. Take a deep breath before you begin talking. Aim for the stars. Keep grinning. Be bloody-minded. Argue with the world. And never forget that writing is as close as we get to keeping a hold on the thousand and one things--childhood, certainties, cities, doubts, dreams, instants, phrases, parents, loves--that go on slipping , like sand, through our fingers.”
Salman Rushdie, Imaginary Homelands: Essays and Criticism 1981-1991

“Like any child, I slid into myself perfectly fitted, as a diver meets her reflection in a pool. Her fingertips enter the fingertips on the water, her wrists slide up her arms. The diver wraps herself in her reflection wholly, sealing it at the toes, and wears it as she climbs rising from the pool, and ever after.”
Annie Dillard, An American Childhood

“My doctor told me to stop having intimate dinners for four. Unless there are three other people.”
Orson Welles
