The End of an Era

November 17, 1558, marked the end of the counter-reformation in England led by Queen Mary I and her cousin, Cardinal Reginald Pole. While many will pay tribute this day to the young Elizabeth who became queen, I would prefer to take a look at her misunderstood older sister. I am a guest today at English Historical Fiction Authors looking at the lives of Mary and Reginald, a pious and devoted pair who ultimately failed in their most vital work.
