I was born in Oregon and raised in northern California. While growing up I listened to my grandparents' and my mother's stories about life on the ranch they owned in Douglas County, some miles east of Roseburg.

Wow! What an eye-opening book this is. I simply couldn't put it down and was continually surprised (shocked!) at the stories of the baby-group mothers. And the involvement of the priest . . . oh, my. Don't miss this one.

What an eye-opener this book is! I couldn't put it down and sweated every hour through the character's risky undertaking and her moral dilemma.

Very, very worth reading--a book I'll not soon forget. Highly recommended.
