I live in Portland, Oregon, though I hail from the UK. Growing up in a house overlooking a graveyard, on the edge of the bleak and foreboding Pennine Hills, seems to have instilled in me an obsession with all things dark and spooky. Debut middle grade novel, The Haunting of Aveline Jones, published by Usborne Books, September 2020.

An excellent, original and at times, downright scary story, that takes us into a world of fear and revenge, superstition and dark magic. Hugely atmospheric and written in an intriguing style that only adds to the authentic feel of this book. Hats off ...more

"This is a great introduction to modern ghost stories for children. Fast paced, interesting concepts and a plot that keeps you reading. The use of similes gets a bit much at times and the ending didn’t quite match the tension of the rest of the book, " Read more of this review »
