Okay, Doomscroll a Little, then Use that Anger to Act.

Just so you know, the system is here to make sure that black lives don't matter by making sure they can't vote in a myriad of ways. There will be more and since they're screaming about voter fraud and are kings of projection, I can only assume they are here to destroy the process.

Act!

So here are those links yet again (and another link on what the best way to go about it. Basically get good at one thing for one candidate and do that. Better than switching tasks, right?):

So here, try to do something rather than doomscroll, as remember, doing a denial of services attack against us all is part of Trump's plan. So don't fret, act: The Senate is also important, so Actblue is place you can donate.

Swing Left has a virtual phone bank you can participate in (and some other ways like donations etc).
Resistance Labs is where you can text to get out the vote.
Vote Forward is a way to do postcards to help improve voter turnout.
Princeton Election Consortium has a list of races where your money will make the most difference. They have Senate races by "power" (where your money goes the furthest). And one for redistricting, if you're interested.  Also, if you need to make a plan: here.  Or one thing you can do.

Of course this doesn't mean that our work is over even if the Dems win (there will still be work to do), but it's a good first step. Let me know if I've missed something.

On BLM Sedition and The Right. (Proxys and Conspiracies)

A good tweet storm on the idea of taking all agency from any group because they *might* have some attachment with another (usually more powerful, usually someone the accusing person does not like, for whatever reason) entity. This is an odd purity test that makes just about any movement false. I'm seeing it here in America with people claiming BLM is some Marxist (but also billionaire, so I guess some bastardized derivative of Elders of Zion bullshit that will forever be with us) attempt to take down America.

Of course, I'm hearing it from people who seem perfectly fine with either the status quo or the GOP. Odd thinking that. I'm going to write more and have a full on discussion of proxies and movements and survival in general.

Also if you don't think BLM, you're simply not welcome here, fuck off.

Also, 2020, I did not need Chris Rock to say this. Come on, man, you're better than this.

And, finally, a heat ray? Yeah, trump wanted to use it on peaceful protesters (no wonder). Funny how I wrote about this in Ministry of Bombs. I only wrote about it being used overseas. In a way I was trying to highlight the cruel absurdities we will go through to fight "terror" (nevermind bigger national security issues like CC or pandemics). But I also knew that the war would come home sooner or later.

And always remember, the right wants to steal this election, and they are already trying with their voter suppression.

Onion With the Truth

The Onion probably hated the day Trump became president because their shtick became the news so what did they have? Well they have this, which I'm sure a whole lot of evangelicals are non-ironically going through. But don't just doomscroll. Use that energy to act.

Don't Doomscroll, Act.

Smoke's still bad out here in Seattle. But people out east have it worse. But just so you know that the comparisons of the right to Nazis isn't just some left wing scream machine, here are our resident Nazis in ICE carrying out sterilization on undesirables. Yup, if you're on the right you're with Nazis. Period. And as for many of my friends who want to compare the right and left as the same, naw, you're helping Nazis. We have an election at hand and we need to act instead of fretting:

Message Not Understood: A documentary we need today.

Crazy times out there. Like I stated earlier, the technology that we have today is truly tearing us apart. Sure there are issues with human nature, but now with a million Radio Rwandas, we have people in rural areas sure that it was antifa that started the fires (and not a combination of climate change and wildlife management)[1]. I quit Facebook a while ago not just because it was bad for my health but because, as I stated then, FB was simply bad.
The issue comes from what the internet could have been and what it has become. The phone should be a moment of connection with other humans, and to some extent it is, but it has also served to tear us apart or simply become an addictive tapping machine.
To that end, a good friend of mine is working on a documentary that talks to the original inventors of all the tech we have today. In it, they take a look at how the original inventors envisioned all these technologies would take us (not where we are today). Important stuff, as the last election (and this one) was lost mainly because of technology being misused (or used by pretty bad actors). So check it out and throw some cash at it. Share it too.
[1] Might have to write more on this form of eco fascism that doesn't really contend with Climate change but just blames it on some leftist cabal. Crazy, but it seems the right is crazier than ever.

The Dumb Goes Hard in the Paint

Well, the right definitely likes going hard in the paint with their dumb. I would laugh if there weren't dire consequences. Here in Seattle, smoke has made the place unlivable. And in 5 days fires tore through the entire state to make it the second worst fire season (that's pretty rough). Now, this is a combination of both bad fire management (no, not shit for brains Trump's raking but more controlled burns, though on fed lands etc).
Well the dumb has real consequences, in that the people in rural areas are stopping outsiders with guns (normal, IIRC, as looting during fires is a thing) but they are also making sure that they are not antifa, and in fact they are staying despite evacuation orders. Again, this ability to change real behaviors at times of stress is powerful, especially when those people are crazy to begin with.
Stay safe out there.

I mentioned White Supremacists who are Veterans.

But don't forget the cops who are in league with them as well. The Portland shooter, it would appear, was executing in some gangland killing. Remember that white supremacists have infiltrated many of the forces out there. Also Trump is making sure there are no efforts to root them out. More reason for you to work to get this Carnival Nazi out of the office.

Stolen Election. Don't forget to GOTV

Woodward confirms that Trump is a reality TV star who knew how bad the pandemic was, but only knew to gaslight everyone by playing it down because, well, he's a reality TV star and all he knows is PR. On that note, there's more from Woodward that shows that many election machines were hacked and no proper audits were done to know how bad it was. We're truly reaching failed state levels of fraud here.

Good times. So here are those links yet again:

The Economy

Many of us, during Obama's time, pointed out how weak the economic growth was. It was. Long term unemployment numbers were bad as were wage growth indicators. Indeed, in many ways, Trump took advantage of that nuanced argument and (along with yelling "fake nuumbers!") and the minor manufacturing recession in the Midwest to ride to victory.

Yet here is a better look at things and not the usual unemployment figures and what have you. Points to some crazy levels of misery out there. Your thoughts?

The White Supremacy Wing of Veterans is At it.

Interesting to see the white supremacy wing of veterans out there talking about killing peaceful protestors. First, I'm not sure how many would actually be this vocal, (most really do want to be left alone) but they exist. I saw plenty speak up about kneeling NFL players (remember that peaceful protest?) and how horrendous it was. Never once taking into account that BLM. So yeah, if you're a veteran who things BLM doesn't matter, then you're a white supremacist or break bread with them and should at least wear the associated symbols.
