Who is Merric Vale?

Who is Merric Vale?

Who is Merric Vale? This may be the most popular question I’ve gotten since the character was introduced back in the Skeleton Key Guild. I had plans for him even then and have been dropping clues about his origins for sometime.

merric vale, A Conclave of Shadows

I’ve heard many theories about, just who is Merric Vale. Let’s take a look at the most popular onesand see what everyone has been thinking.

He is a member of the First Kind. I’ve gotten this one quite a few times. the reasoning behind it is pretty clear, from the moment...

League of Skull & Bones New Cover

With the upcoming reveal of ‘A Conclave of Shadows” book cover, the incredible steampunk adventure and new adult novel ‘League of Skull & Bones’ is getting a new cover. I love the new cover and it fits well with the other books in the series truly tying them all together.

Casting the Grimm Chronicles

Since I am nearing completion on Book 2, I figured now might be a good time to do a casting the Grimm Chronicles post. Yes, some new characters will be introduced in the latest book, but I will do another post about them when the time comes. And since the post about casting the Doorknob Society was so popular, I figured why not, lets have some fun.

Jessica Grimm- Jess has evolved as a person and is no longer just a pretty face. She is scarred mentally and physically from what has happened to h...

The Doorknob Society and a Brain Tumor

This originally appeared as a guest post on Pure Textuality in February of 2012. My update follows at the bottom.

“It’s a brain tumor.”

You might be wondering what that sentence has to do with creating the Doorknob Society, everything really. The idea for DS came about a few years ago when I was annoyed with the choices I had for my daughter regarding female characters in books. I wanted her to have someone she could identify with and experience wonderful journeys alongside. So Chloe Masters, w...

Doorknob Society Comic Book

With work proceeding on the Doorknob Society comic book, I wanted to share the link to the short story that started it all. A few years ago this 10 page short appeared in Digital Webbing Presents, its now available on Amazon. This short takes place while the characters are still attending the Paladin Academy and includes favorites such as Edgar Magnus, Michael Slade and James Nightshade. I’m working on another comic book short that I hope to have available by this summer. That will include a...

The World of Four Corners

I stood in knee high snow drifts, a bitter cold shook me to my core. The sounds of snapping wind and creatures howling in the distance made me jump. Something moved in the corner of my vision and I turned to see a beast the size of which I doubted could exist, striding forward. Stark white fur was intercut by deep black stripes and a massive head that swept at the snowy ground sniffing. A rider sat atop the impressive white tiger, they were covered from head to toe in leather and furs. But th...

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

With the holiday season under way I want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. I am plugging away on book 2 of the Grimm Chronicles, A Conclave of Shadows, as well as a few other projects I have in the works. 2014 should be a very interesting year with book 2 releasing and another new series starting. I will be snugly away for the next two weeks with family and friends and have plenty of time to write. I’m hoping to have the first draft on book 2 done and to be finishing up...
