Growing up in rural Texas, Jim wanted to be a cowboy and baseball player, but life had other ideas. During a successful career as a CPA, CFP, CLU, and stockbroker, he authored four business books before returning to those childhood dreams. He led a covered wagon and horseback trip across Texas and wrote a memoir, Biscuits Across the Brazos, about the journey. The life-changing experience inspired five novels: Rivers Flow, Rivers Crossing, Rivers Ebb, Go Down Looking (the Follow the Rivers Series), and Home Light Burning, a historical fiction novel about real characters in the period just after the Civil War.
