Nina Post and 2 other people liked Maxine's review of Dragon Teeth:
Dragon Teeth by Michael Crichton
"It is 1876 and William Johnson, a young, wealthy and somewhat indolent Yale student who is always boasting about his mostly fictional exploits is bet that he can’t get a position on Othniel Marsh’s annual fossil hunt to the western territories. Su..." Read more of this review »
The Ghoul Vendetta by Lisa Shearin
"Review courtesy of All Things Urban Fantasy.

While I have some small quibbles, THE GHOUL VENDETTA was exactly what I expected from Shearin and The SPI Files. Fun, dramatic, witty and an all around good read, THE GHOUL VENDETTA continues the series..." Read more of this review »

The Lowest Heaven by Anne C. Perry
"The Lowest Heaven is the fifth Jurassic London anthology and the first to concentrate on a specific corner of the speculative fiction genre, science fiction. Of course, as it's been inspired by bodies in the Solar System, this isn't surprising and..." Read more of this review »

“You just finished a job, as you refer to it. You must be tired and I can only imagine the enervating quality of an added threat of the state pen."

"California's state pen is Fisher," Cat said. "It can write upside down, but I think a pencil works better for that.”
Nina Post, The Zaanics Deceit

“And he had lost his focus again. He tried his Skeletor voice, a less frequently used but effective attention-focusing tactic: Skeletor to Shawn Danger! Skeletor to Shawn Danger! Focus, Danger! Skeletor was a shitty life coach, but something about his grating voice could sometimes spur him into action.”
Nina Post, Danger Returns in Pairs

“He started at a sporting goods store, where he bought several models of steel tent stakes, icepicks ("sailors buy them," an employee told him), hammers, and rubber mallets. No one even raised a brow at his purchase of Homicidal Maniac Variety Pack - As Seen On TV.”

“Yeah, and don't think it's easy finding Ray-Bans in a fruit-bat medium.”
Christopher Moore, The Stupidest Angel: A Heartwarming Tale of Christmas Terror

“Which was why, some six hours later, Alexia Maccon's daughter was born inside the head of an octomaton in the presence of her husband, a comatose werewolf dandy, and a French inventor.”
Gail Carriger, Heartless

“Sometimes when I'm brushing my teeth, I'll look at the mirror and I swear my reflection seems kind of disappointed. I realized a couple of years ago that not only am I not super-skilled at anything, I'm not even particularly good at being myself.”
