Blog Tour: Indulgence by Jeanne McDonald

Indulgenceby: Jeanne McDonaldGenre: Erotica/Erotic RomanceRelease date: January 4, 2015One night of indulging in her carnal nature will unlock a world of mystery and desire she never dreamed existed. A year has passed since Addison George was left at the altar after her husband-to-be announced he was gay.  Still friends despite what happened, she secretly harbors hope that all of this was a phase and he will come crawling back to her.  That dream is shattered when he announces that he’s engaged to the man he left her for.

Spiraling out of control, Addison agrees to accompany her best friend to the sex party of the year. Hosted by world-renowned erotic romance author, Sebastian Hawk, exposed anonymity is the name of the game.  The rules are simple: all guests are required to remain nude for the duration of the event, except for a mask to hide one’s identity, and everyone must partake in at least one salacious delight.
Out of her sexual league, Addison spends the evening with a certain clothed employee who explains to her the world in which the enigmatic author lives.  While she wishes to understand more about the strange novelist, Addison can’t help but feel drawn to the handsome and mysterious employee who has introduced her to the sensual realm of Indulgence.

Lost in a world of secrets and passion, Addison will unmask the man behind the mystery while exploring her carnal nature.  Through it all, she’ll discover that not everything is as it seems, and to never judge a book solely by its cover.

Jeanne McDonald began telling stories at the ripe young age of five, when her mother considered the truth to be a lie due to her extensive embellishment to the retelling of an event.  She wrote her first short story when she was twelve years old, and at the age of sixteen she tried her hand at poetry.  She reconnected with her love for writing in 2010 thanks to the encouragement of a dear friend.

Her passions include a "mild" Starbucks addiction, music, reading, quotes, movies, and romance.  When she's not spending time with her family, she can be found reading, writing, chatting with her friends or diligently working toward her bachelor's degree in Literature.  A proud Texan, Jeanne currently resides in the Dallas/Fort Worth area with her family.Indulgence by jeanne mcdonald

I extended my hand out to her, almost afraid she might bite it off.  She wrapped the red ribbon around my wrist, prepared to clasp it together with an adhesive strip.  “You are to wear your card at all times.  In each room, you will find plenty of writing, utensils along with protection.  For every partner you engage in activities with tonight, you’re required to notate their name on this card.  Tomorrow morning, you will hand this back in and we will return your license to you.  Is that clear?”My jaw nearly hit the floor.  Not that I thought keeping track of our partners was a bad idea, because it was quite brilliant, but having some stranger sifting through my sex partners left me unsettled.  My crush on Sebastian Hawk was a moot point.  It was bad enough he had access to everything else, including my blood type.  This was my private affair, and I wanted it to remain that way.I ripped my arm back before the clasp completely closed, leaving the card in scary lady’s hands.  “Excuse me, but I wish to keep my card.  It’s no one else’s business who I fuck but my own.”“Addison,” Amber warned me.I jerked my head up, looking at Amber.  “No.  This is ludicrous,” I argued.  “Who gives him the right to know who I fuck or not?”“It’s no big deal.  Just take the card,” she hissed.I might’ve been out my comfort zone, but I also wasn’t the type of person who’d back down when I felt something wasn’t right.  I had no qualms in speaking my mind.  It might’ve gotten me in trouble more times than not, but I figured if I didn’t defend myself, who would?“No.  You said this was about freedom, about taking chances, but there are some things I don’t take chances with.  I refuse to allow…”Out of no where, a man appeared behind the desk.  His light, blue-eyed gaze washed over me, causing every follicle on my skin to stand on end.  My body tingled with excitement.  All I could do was stare at him.  He was the epitome of a god.  Skin, lightly kissed by the sun.  Hair, the color of pale gold.  He was tall but the air around him made him appear taller.  The tip of his tongue darted out over his lips, and I had the sudden urge to reach out and capture it between my teeth.  My eyes drifted down, catching the sight of a hard, lean body.  His hands tucked away in his pockets, pulling his suit jacket away from his hips.  When I realized I was staring at his crotch, I quickly shifted my eyes to meet his.  Bad move.  Once locked in his sights, I was done for.“Sebastian Hawk,” I rasped.

As I slip quietly out of the suite and rush toward the elevator, I can’t deny I’m feeling a little better about Vegas.

That is, until the elevator doors open.

Standing there, leaning against the stainless steel wall with a cocky smile on his face, is the one person I really didn’t want to see this weekend.

With a miserable groan, I step inside the elevator and furiously stab the button.

“Are you following me, Summers?”

“I’d follow your dimples anywhere, York.”

Ethan Summers is infuriatingly charming and handsome. Both assets have proven to be beneficial to his career and detrimental to mine.

“Well, these dimples just lifted Bradley Jones’ credit card numbers.”

“Impressive. Although, one might argue that a more superior con artist would be capable of accomplishing such a feat without showing a little skin. Really, Jenna, I’m disappointed.”

He rarely calls me by my first name. Last names have always been our thing.

“Were you watching me?”

“Every heterosexual man in the casino was watching your little performance. Nice legs, by the way.”

Crap.

“Not good,” I mutter.

“No, but I enjoyed it.”

Ethan grins as the elevator doors open. I don’t protest when he grabs me by the elbow and leads me toward the nearest exit. It’s not brightly lit, but there’s a very nice bouncer that Ethan greets by name who allows us to walk right out the door and into the starry Nevada night. He doesn’t let go of my arm as we hurry toward a black SUV.

“Why are you helping me?”

“You drugged a millionaire and stole his credit card info. I think it’s best we get you out of town.”

That doesn’t really answer my question, but I can’t argue with his logic.

Ethan opens the passenger door and helps me inside.

“Nice stilettos.”

I glare at him, and he shoots me a sexy smile before slamming my door.

It’s really too bad that I hate his guts.

Ethan Summers and I have crossed paths many times throughout the past couple years. It’s unavoidable, considering we’re two of the finest criminal minds in the world.

That’s what the news says, anyway.

“Let me guess,” Ethan says as he pulls the SUV out onto the highway. “You used Rohypnol on Jones?”

I roll my eyes. “I’m a thief, not a sexual predator.”

“Well, you obviously slipped something into his drink.”

“Sleeping pill.”

Ethan hums his disapproval. I can’t argue with him. Slipping Bradley a sedative is so amateur.

“I was desperate. The entire weekend has been a complete waste of time. When did the Viper install dome cams?”

“A few weeks ago. The casino’s hosting the U.S. Poker Championship next month. Ceiling cams are a requirement.”

“Super.”

“I know.”

“So, if you knew about the cameras, what were you doing at the casino?”

“Let’s just say a little birdie told me you were hitting the Viper tonight. I had a feeling you might need my assistance.”

“So you’ve been talking to Abby.”

He remains silent and keeps his eyes trained on the freeway, giving me the chance to study his profile. Ethan has a mop of unruly dark hair and deep blue eyes that make most girls go weak in the knees.

Not this girl. Nope.

“Like what you see?”

My face heats. I hate when he catches me ogling him.

“You’re an ass.”

He laughs. “Someday, Jenna, you’re going to stop fighting this attraction between us. I’m really looking forward to that.”

~~SUMMARY~~Pre-med student Sarah Jones is back in Beaver, Alaska, for summer vacation.  A loyal member of the Gwich’in tribe, she accepts the rules set by her father, the leader of their small town. Raised in a strict household, she learned early on to do what is expected of her and has agreed to an arranged marriage. Despite her reluctance to marry without love, Sarah is unwilling to defy her father’s wishes. She hopes to help usher in an era of independence and stability for the town, but for now, her focus is finishing med school so she can become Beaver’s resident doctor.IL pull quoteBusiness owner Greg Andrews needs a change of atmosphere, away from his philandering wife and life in general. Leaving New York City to join a hunting expedition in Alaska, Greg’s plans are turned upside down when he is shot on Gwich’in land and ends up on Sarah’s operating table. In the absence of a qualified doctor, Sarah must operate to save his life. She refuses to wait for the consent of their tribal leader, and her father banishes her from the tribal land in punishment.Grateful for his life, Greg concocts a scheme to help. Plagued by the side effects of her unconventional operation, he convinces Sarah to become his live-in nurse. Without the means to support herself, Sarah agrees to the questionable arrangement, but she soon finds herself in even more trouble. Her new problem is that she is falling in love with this infuriating man, and the choices she now must make are much more difficult than the simple act of saving a man’s life.Together, Sarah and Greg must both decide whether they can overcome the vast differences between them, or if the indivisible line that separates their worlds will ultimately pull them apart.
~~EXCERPT~~For the first time since he had been brought in the clinic, Sarah got a good, long look at him. She noted the perfect blond hair that fell on the side of his face—matted but still perfect. His features were rather forbidding, even in his unconscious state. The defined jawline framed well-proportioned lips that were pale and parted slightly. The suggestion of dimples on either cheek made her ache to see him smile. Then there were the long, dark eyelashes and the contoured nose, all coming together to create a striking, attractive package that kept her eyes glued to his face. Indivisible-Line-3D-Paperback Her heart began to race. What is wrong with me? Shaking off another wave of nausea, Sarah closed her eyes and concentrated on breathing. Her knees weakened underneath her, but she kept on inhaling and exhaling. A few more minutes and it would be over.In her short life, Sarah hadn’t met a man who evoked the well–documented “butterflies-in-the-stomach” phenomenon. Now here she was, staring at a complete stranger with her heart banging against her chest in a frenzy. This man was just too perfect, too beautiful almost. She was even gladder she’d managed to keep him alive. He’d make a woman happy someday, if he hadn’t already. Instinct made her eyes travel to the man’s ring finger, and her heart skipped when she found it bare.Goodreads Add to Want To Read List

Ascension Blog tour

                   Release of Book 3 of
The Gates Legacy Series Ascension by Lorenz Font Ascension-Hi-Res-Cover
What difficulties have you faced while writing your series, as far as storyline goes? How did you overcome them? So far, I haven’t faced any major difficulties as far as the storyline is concerned. The series has a multitude of characters and each book focuses on two main characters while introducing the next ones for the following installment. With that said, there are enough meaty subplots, back stories and scenes to last me until the fifth book of this series is written, and even for the spin-off series that is already brewing inside my head. However, what I encounter while writing the stories has more to do with keeping the balance of information and when to give them away. It is about knowing when to introduce a particular concept or even keeping tabs of the character names and the chronological order of incidents. The easiest one to write for me was the first book, Hunted. The reason for this is being the first one, all the ideas are fresh and telling the story is not a daunting task. On the second installment, I have to constantly go back to the first book and check the order of incidents, positions, and descriptions are accurate. Furthermore, I have to check on the death register just to be certain that a particular character is still alive. Let’s face it. This series has seen so many deaths—enough to give anyone whiplash. It gets harder as we delve deeper into the series because I’m constantly reminded by my well-meaning authors to give a short description of a certain character or incident to make it easy for the readers to follow just in case they caught the series in the middle. Now that is quite ironic considering I’m the author and I’m having a tough time following every single detail. It’s a tough call on when to give a certain idea to keep the balance as well as the interest of the readers. Sometimes, I find myself wanting to give all the details in one sitting which can create confusion since this series involved a long list of characters and multiple subplots. I think the best thing I have done with this series is the introduction of multiple points of view. While each of the key characters tell their stories, I have all the time to pace the narration and stay true to the main plot.of characters and each book focuses on two main characters while introducing the next ones for the following installment. ~~EXCERPT~~ Young caucasian couple in love at twilight light The flimsy door was torn off its hinges like a piece of cardboard. “What the hell is going on here?” Rohnert’s voice rattled everything around them, sending the bottles of precious anesthetics to the floor with a loud crash. “Don’t you ever knock?” Shelly wobbled to the nearest chair and flopped onto it clumsily. “I heard you cry. What’s wrong?” Rohnert rushed to her side, ignoring her question, and placed his hand on her belly. It could have been the warmth of his touch or some quack medicinal magic, but her back felt instant relief. Shelly had wanted to deny him the privilege of connecting with their unborn child. Instead, she smothered a moan at the glorious reprieve he brought to her. She was much too proud to acknowledge how his presence soothed her. “Nothing’s wrong. I probably pulled a muscle when I bent down to pick up the scissors.” She tried to move away from him, to disconnect herself from his touch. Cheryl took one look at Rohnert, and without a word took her leave. Mort scrambled to his feet and followed suit. Rohnert kept his hand on her back. “You’re lying.” He peered at her. Shelly bit her tongue to keep herself from lobbing another furious retort. She looked away, focusing on the exit. He had no right to look so attractive and virile, and her heart shouldn’t be hammering against her chest the way it was. Under his close scrutiny, she felt vulnerable, naked almost, and she hated the sexual stirring in her gut. “You look tired.” “I’m fine. It’s my normal. I have to go to work now.” “You’re done working for the night.” Rohnert’s eyes bore into hers. The command in voice would have sent others seeking for cover. She was no pushover. “You’re not telling me what to do.” Shelly stood up and bolted past him. Rohnert was quick to restrain her, and he spun her around to face him. “I’m not doing this to annoy you. You have to look after yourself and our child. Your schedule doesn’t allow you enough rest.” Sure. He was going all gallant on her, showing concern. It was a bit too cozy and little too late. “No, it isn’t,” he said, answering her unspoken words. “I left because I wanted to protect—” “Oh spare me the details. You left because you’re afraid to show you care. Now that I’m pregnant, you come waltzing back into my life to take control. If you’re concerned for the child’s well-being, don’t be. I’m going to let It know who the sperm donor is.” She watched his face harden. “Do not call our child It. We’re going to give him a name, and I’m not just a donor. I intend to be a part of his life every step of the way.” So he had been eavesdropping. Just for kicks, she pushed on. “And how do you propose that we go about doing that?” Shelly held Rohnert’s gaze with enough challenge to discourage any man. His features softened, and his eyes crinkled. “I want a ceremony to bind us. I don’t want my son to be born a bastard.” As in getting married? Her chest felt weird all of a sudden, inflating at the prospect, but she tamped down her excitement. Where in hell does this man get these silly notions? “And if I won’t do it?” Rohnert smiled, exposing the tips of his fangs. “You won’t deny your child the life he deserves.” Too cocky for his own good. Shelly snorted and shook her head. “This child deserves to live in peace away from the killings and without the fear of getting killed.” It was obvious that she’d struck a nerve when his nostrils flared. Shelly stifled a smile. “I will protect my child with my life.” He pulled her closer until their faces were almost touching and held her chin with his thumb and forefinger. “You won’t get rid of me, even if you try.” Without giving her a chance to answer, he cupped her face with his big hands and captured her mouth in a hungry kiss, demanding her to respond. Shelly planted her palms against his chest and pushed. Rohnert didn’t budge. He growled against her lips and deepened the kiss, rendering her breathless and weak in the knees. Her hands relaxed then fisted in his jacket, finally feeling the burn of his mouth. Oh, God. How could she think straight? She prided herself on being tough, and she usually stuck to her resolve. Yet Rohnert short circuited her brain, making it difficult to think of anything but getting him between her legs. His hands wound down to the small of her back and pressed her body until there was not a hairline of space between them. She felt lightheaded. This had to stop. She wasn’t going to . . . Shelly moaned, unable to stop herself from touching his face. If she were truthful with herself, she wanted this and needed him like air. She also needed a doctor. It was obvious she was sick in the head. She had vowed not to allow him walk all over her, and look at what was she doing—allowing him to trample her will and moaning like a sex-starved kitten while he did.

What Reviewers Are Saying:
"The Divine Trilogy was an emotional journey for not only these characters, but for me as a reader. I could not have asked for any more from Ms. Hargrave than what she did – write a beautiful story about intriguing characters that entertained me and touched my heart. And in doing so, she has earned not only my admiration and respect, but gratitude.  The dictionary defines the word divine as being supremely good or superb; in that case, The Divine Trilogy was appropriately titled because that’s exactly how good this series was. This is a must read series!" ~Robin with Sizzling Hot Books

"What an amazing 3rd book in this series! I love this series like no other! Jayden is one smoking, sexy, caring Dom that loves with all he has! Erin is an amazing sub that keeps surprising me as the story goes on! She's strong, sensual, caring, loving and most of all submits to her Dom with all her soul! This is one of those books that you want more from, one that gives you so much that you keep taking it all in and just can't stop! I loved this series and hope and pray there are more like this one to come from an amazing Author who has put so much into what she writes!" ~Maria, Goodreads Reviewer

There is so much more to this story than you can possibly imagine! The plot of Surreal unfolds in layers. The writing keeps you guessing, questioning and wanting more information. The writing is also clever and witty, even humorous at times! I highly recommend this story to any BDSM lover and anyone who wants to read about an emotionally moving love story that will leave you thinking about it for days!" Kristin, Goodreads Reviewer

Excerpt:Before the driver could pull the car out of the parking lot, Jillian was talking a mile a minute. Paige seemed to be following it all, but Erin felt lost while she watched them banter like a tennis match.
“Whoa, slow down. We’ve got all day and the only actual appointment is at the dress shop. Paige is meeting the seamstress who will be doing the custom work on her gown.”
Paige and Jillian shared a look.
“What?” Erin was on alert at once.
“Erin, sweetie,” Paige began.
“Oh, no. This isn’t about me today, Paige. We’re doing stuff for your wedding, not mine. Jayden and I haven’t even set a date yet.”
“And? Your point is?”
Jillian took over, “Because you two haven’t pinned down a date is all the more reason to get busy straight away. There is so much to sort out and plan—”
“I don’t know. In my mind, I kind of thought it would be small and quick.”
Paige snorted at that, and Erin kicked her friend in the shin before she said something not suitable for Jillian’s ears.
Jillian leaned toward Erin to lay a manicured hand on her knee. “I’ve waited almost forty years for my son to get married. This is one event that will not be downplayed if I have anything to say about it.”
Erin felt her eyes begin to lower under the intensity of her future mother-in-law’s stare. Paige nudged her knee, which reminded her that submitting to one Masterson was quite enough.
“Surely you’ve got some ideas, Erin? A general time frame and colors, for instance.”
The young woman’s thoughts went to the ink encircling her waist. It captured her heritage, the red and green braiding a permanent reminder of her Irish roots.
Paige clapped. “That dreamy look means yes!”
Across from her, Jillian relaxed into her seat with a smug grin, and Erin threw up her hands. “Fine. Bear in mind that I haven’t discussed any of this with Jayden yet—and no decisions will be made without him.”
“Yeah, yeah. Give us the goods, girl,” Paige said with a snicker.
“Well, I don’t want white.” She glanced at Jillian and was relieved her preference didn’t seem to be an issue. “I’ve always liked ivory—it’s more down to earth. For accents, I was thinking red and green. Oh, and for flowers,” she smiled at the secret she shared with her Dom, “I’m pretty sure Jayden will want orchids.”
“Good, keep going.” A notepad had materialized in Paige’s hands, and she was scribbling at a furious pace.
Erin shook her head in amusement. “I like roses, too, so maybe we can combine them?” She continued to ponder aloud. “As for when, that will all depend on when Jayden can take time off from work—”
“My dear child, that boy would move mountains for you. If you have a special date you want, I assure you that business will not keep him from making it happen.”

Go back to the beginning:

When Jayden Masterson–a gentleman Dom with a taste for perfection–meets a submissive with a mysterious past and a natural desire to submit, he can’t resist the spark that ignites inside him. He wants to learn everything about Catherine O’Chancey; not just the intricacies of her body, but her mind as well. But does she want the same? Can Catherine stand up to her past and find the right Dom who can make her feel alive again?

One of my favorite memories of childhood were sneaking these cookies out of my Nano's cookie jar.  Ingredients:makes 6 dozen1 cup white sugar1 cup packed brown sugar1 cup shortening2 eggs1 teaspoon vanilla extract2 cups all-purpose flour1 teaspoon baking powder1 teaspoon baking soda1/2 teaspoon salt2 cups quick cooking oats2 cups orange-flavored fruit slice jelly candies

DirectionsIn large mixing bowl, cream together sugars and shortening till fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla; beat well. Stir together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Stir into creamed mixture.Stir in the oats, and the orange candy. NOTE: Dip a pair of kitchen shears into a glass of hot water or spray with a non-stick spray to make snipping the orange slices easier. Using about one tablespoon of mixture for each cookie, roll into one inch balls. Place on greased cookie sheets.Bake in a 350 degree F (175 degrees C) oven for 10 to 12 minutes or until lightly browned. Remove and cool on a wire rack.

These Orange Slice Cookies were a hallmark of my childhood, and we rarely had a Christmas that went by that I didn't have these. In that spirit, I'd like to offer you a peak at one of my favorite novellas, Broken Hearts & Dusty Dreams:

“What’s your name?” Turning so that his body faced her, Riley smiled. “My name is Riley Farris.”“Natalie,” she murmured. “Natalie Sloane. What is this place?”Riley shrugged his shoulders, unsure how much he wanted to share with Natalie. He knew girls from the city often had more than people from the island. “I don’t know. Guess it’s just a place that I like to come.”“It’s nice.” Natalie scooted back on the log and brought her legs up, keeping her knees bent in front of her. “Bet you’re here all the time, aren’t you?”“Usually,” he chuckled. “Only the locals know about this place.”“Natalie!” At the sound of her name being screamed, she jumped off the log, turning toward the male voice.“I’d better go,” she mumbled. “Um, maybe I’ll see you around sometime, Riley.”“I’m almost always here.” Standing up, Riley reached over and brushed her hair behind her ear. “Like tomorrow morning at ten.”“You want me to come back?” Natalie’s words were full of surprise, and Riley wondered why she seemed so surprised.Shrugging his shoulders, Riley said, “Sure. You and I are friends now, Natalie, and I will always be here. You know, as long as you want me to be.”Natalie smiled and nodded. “Okay, then. Tomorrow morning sounds good.”

She reconnected with her love for writing in 2010 thanks to the encouragement of a dear friend. Her passions include a "mild" Starbucks addiction, music, reading, quotes, movies, and romance. AUTHORSherri spent most of her childhood detesting English class. It was one of her least favorite subjects because she never seemed to fit into the standard mold. She wasn’t good at spelling, or following grammar rules, and outlines made her head spin. For that reason, Sherri never imagined becoming an author.
71a8706b1176a738beed03e0856a5345.jpg At the age of thirty, all of that changed. After getting frustrated with the direction a television show was taking two of its characters, Sherri decided to try her hand at writing an alternate ending, and give the characters their happily ever after. By the time the story finished, it was one of the top ten read stories on the site, and her readers were encouraging her to write more. Six years later, Sherri is the author of six full-length novels, and one short story. Writing has become a creative outlet for Sherri that allows her to explore a wide range of emotions, while having fun taking her characters through all the twists and turns she can create. She is most well known for her Finding Anna series about a young woman rescued from being a sex slave by a wealthy Dominant. The third book in that series, Truth, released July 25, 2013.

GUEST POST
What are the differences between publishing with a house and self-publishing?

Welcome to Serpent’s Kiss is my first venture in self-publishing. The first part of the process wasn’t all that different from what I was used to. After publishing nine books through a publishing house, I was familiar with the writing and editing process. Just because I was self-publishing didn’t mean I wanted the quality of my books to decrease so I stuck to what I was used to. I was able to freelance with the same editor who has worked on my last six books. The first thing that did change for me with self-publishing this book was my cover. I decided to have a custom cover made rather than use a stock photo. The entire process was a lot of fun. I was able to work with the photographer to pick a model and the props that would be used. This gave me a unique cover that was able to look exactly the way I wanted it to.My biggest challenge came when I went to create an IBSN for my book, and then upload it to Amazon. Since I’d never done it before, it took me a while to read through everything and make sure I was filling things out correctly. All in all, I think those two things took me upwards of six hours. It will get easier, I’m sure. The first time is always the hardest. Overall, I’ve enjoyed my self-publishing experience. It has, however, made me appreciate some of the behind the scenes stuff publishers do for authors.
