“It’s a name I chose because I am never really sure of anything or anyone, especially myself.”
So says Penny Maybe, a vulnerable but gutsy teenager who has spent most of her life in and out of foster care.
As the story opens, Penny is on the threshold of what promises to be yet another tragedy. She’s been placed in a foster home with a warring couple and she’s fallen in love with a young man who is certain to reject her. Undeterred, Penny salvages her spirit by focusing on an impossible challenge: swimming Lake Ontario.Penny struggles to meet both the challenges of the lake and of life itself. She finds an unlikely coach to help her in her goal and, for the first time, learns to develop trustworthy friendships.
Summary of the Halleluiah Baby
Treez McDuffy is a single woman who’s recently retired from a forty-year-long-lifeless job. She’s now faced with facing herself. The wounds from her childhood reopen, having never really healed. They’re responsible for her unwillingness and inability to have formed any type of meaningful relationship. She is alone without any sense of purpose or belonging and consoles herself with endless cigarettes, liter-boxes of Merlot and micro-waved frozen dinners. Something happens that ignites a transformation. One morning she hears the sound of Canada geese flying over her apartment on their way home. They’re calling her to join them. She rushes out onto her balcony and is overwhelmed by the momentous display of this huge flock of geese flying overhead. It stirs something inside her which has lain dormant for years – hope to change her life. But to change, she has to change everything.
She terminates the lease on her the rent-controlled apartment she’s had for thirty years, cashes in her retirement savings, buys a new car, adopts a dog, aptly named, Guido, from the local pound and sets out to travel the Trans Canada Highway on a tentatively planned journey to the Badlands of South Dakota.
On day of her departure, she suffers an extreme anxiety attack after travelling only a few blocks from her old apartment. Somehow the realization of what she’s done has remained safe in her imagination but now it’s reality. She fears she’s made a very reckless and foolish decision but it’s too late to turn back.
What starts off as a trip to the Badlands veers dramatically off course as she encounters people and events, both natural and supernatural that steer her in a whole new direction. She is challenged in ways she has never experienced before. She is on an odyssey of rebirth and self-discovery.

M.B. Feeney
The brilliant and loving Mich Feeney has joined the Magic of Books Promotions team. Her talents and expertise will shoot the promotional company into the stars and beyond. To help welcome her into the family, as owner of the company, I present the newest book of the author and friend she has become to me.
Born and bred in the UK, Holly is getting the chance of a lifetime—six weeks abroad. The Kings, a host family in the US, have invited her to stay with them and get a chance to experience life as an American. When she discovers that the King family includes two teenage boys, will she be glad she came or ready to hightail it back across the pond?

M. B. Feeney is an army brat who finally settled down in Birmingham, UK with her other half, two kids and a dog. Currently at university studying for her BA (Hons) in primary teaching, she procrastinates on her assignments by listening to music of all genres and trying to get ‘just one more paragraph’ written on whichever WIP is open. She is also a serious doodler and chocoholic. Writing has been her one true love ever since she could spell, and publishing is the final culmination of her hard work and ambition.
Her publishing career began with two novellas, and she currently has multiple projects under way whilst Honour, a compilation of her own military based shorts, was released in November 2013 and her short novel, The One That Got Away was released February 2015. Always having something on the go can often lead to block which eventually gets dissolved by good music and an even better book.
Her main reason for writing is to not only give her readers enjoyment, but also to create a story and characters that stay with readers long after the book is finished, and possibly make someone stop and think “what if...”

I've only just met Mich, but I already see a lifelong friend. Her talents go far beyond writing. She's a thankless mother of two, a loving woman to her soulmate and is always thinking of her friends before herself. Maybe that's one of the reasons she's gone into teaching; a chance to shape the young minds of our future writers. I'm so excited to spend time with a generous and loving personality like hers and to learn and grow from her wealth of expertise. My life will never be the same now that you have entered my life.

Hmm, a personal testimony about Mich (M.B. Feeney) . . . Where to start! Shall I do this like a Best Man speech? Yeah, why not
.
*pouts that I don’t have a glass of bubbly to toast this awesome girl*
Well, I first ‘met’ Mich quite a few years ago. I can't remember the exact details, but knowing us two, we were probably up to no good. It was online, of course, but that didn’t stop us! We grew close as friends and then we cemented our friendship by meeting up in person. It was at a Twilight convention (don’t groan, it was a fun weekend! Lol).
Here’s what I’ve learned and loved about Mich over the years:
She is fiercely loyal to her friends and family. No matter what, she’s there. No matter what she’s going through herself, she’s there for her friends.
She has a slight music addiction (which we share). I’ve lost count on the artists we’ve talked about over the years lol.
She also adores her cowboy boots (The Boots Stay on!) I swear this addiction was brought on by Jackson Rathbone, but it’s not like I’d complain. Have you seen that man on stage? Phew!
She loves 1 Direction *coughs* Louis *coughs*
She is one hell of a kick arse author! Have you read her books? Damn, this girl can write! She sticks to normal men! Nope, there’s not a billionaire arsehole in sight, thank God!
She’s training to be a teacher. Now, props to her, because being in a classroom of 30+ kids all day . . . nah lol.
But the thing I love about Mich is this. She’s Mich. She puts on no front. What you see is what you get and that’s quite rare in an author. She hates putting herself out there. She hates pimping herself. She’ll bend over backwards for anyone, but ignores herself.
She is an awesome friend and I know that I can count on her for anything. I know she wants the publishing world to take her seriously, because she lives for books – reading and writing.
And Mich, when you get this, when you sit and read this . . . Thanks. Thanks for being such an amazing friend, an awesome author, and someone anyone can instantly love.
*raises cup of tea*

The moment I read M B Feeney’s first story, I knew I had discovered one seriously talented author. With a British flavour to each of her stories, M B builds strong, unique characters that draw the reader in until they can’t help but become invested. Her latest offering, Dear Diary (The Exchange Series Book 1) is no exception. A great start to what I anticipate will be a fantastic series. When she’s not busy with writing, her studies and family commitments, M B Feeney is 100 percent committed to supporting the indie writing community. She has not only read and reviewed hundreds, if not thousands of stories over the years, she has always been there to lend an ear, shoulder, or hand any way she can for countless numbers of people. On a personal level, I’ve known M B Feeney for well over 5 years. She is a true friend, mother, sister and confidante… a woman who is genuine, honest, and generous to a fault. (She is also quite partial to pear cider now and then too lol). She also encouraged me to take my first tentative step into the world of writing, and for that, I will be forever grateful. I can honestly say without a single doubt in my mind, that if it weren’t for one Ms M B Feeney, I would not have become a published author.

With stories set in England that are witty yet quirky, M.B. Feeney has a way with words that’ll suck you right into her fictional worlds. I'm proud to call her friend.

#TeaserTuesday: M.B. Feeney
There’s something about that one person we date in our teens but never become intimate with. Why does a sexless relationship render us unable to stop carrying that person, the what if, with us into our adult life? For Heidi Johnson, Shane Hughes is her “one that got away.” Through the years, he has stayed in the back of her mind while she became an adult, a mother, and her own person. Meanwhile, Shane has lived a life of regret that he let Heidi go for the wrong reasons: fear and a misguided sense of not wanting to hurt either of them. When they reconnect online, the memories they've tried to suppress over the years return, reigniting the feelings never explored ‘back in the day.’ Will a school reunion in their home town of London, surrounded by old school friends, help the pair address the questions the years apart left unanswered? Or will they still be left with wanting more?
I scrambled to get my thoughts straight, wishing I’d thought this meeting through better. “Sorry.” I apologised again, bringing a small smile to her face. “I thought I had what I wanted to say clear in my mind, but the moment you walked in, it all went to shit.” “Don’t worry about it. This is your rodeo, take your time.” I glanced at my phone. There was still a decent amount of time to catch my train. “Thanks.” I took another deep breath to steady my nerves. “I know we spoke last night, after. . .” I trailed off, not sure how to phrase my words. “We had a rampant fuck in a dark alley?” Heidi supplied, making me laugh. “If you want to put it that way, fine by me.” My face began to ache from my grin, but I didn’t care. I was finally at ease and knew what I wanted to say and how to say it. “I wanted you to know that I didn’t turn up just looking to get in your knickers last night. I know I’ve flirted, some of it got pretty hardcore, but I never expected anything.” “Look, Shane. Yeah, the flirting online got pretty intense, but if I hadn’t wanted it to continue, you know me well enough to know I’d have put a stop to it. I did go to the reunion with a purpose. I wanted to remind you exactly what you’d let go. It makes me sound big-headed and full of myself, but it made me feel good. Like you, I never even considered for one moment that we’d end up in that alley, but we did.” She paused to take a sip of her coffee. I watched her intently, blown away by her frankness. This woman never ceased to amaze me, or make me regret my rash decision fifteen years prior. “As I said last night, it shouldn’t have happened, but I won’t regret it. It made us both feel fantastic, and if need be, has given us some closure.” Did I want closure? I’d told her last night that I left wanted to know how it would feel to make love to her and I hadn’t lied. Somewhere in the back of my mind, I must have thought that us having sex would, as Heidi mentioned, give us a closure on our unresolved history, but it hadn’t. “It hasn’t for me.” I had promised myself to be open and honest with her before we parted ways once again. She maintained eye contact even though her skin was flushed with a blush that spread from her throat to her cheeks. “Me either.”

No matter how hard they struggled with their feelings, their love was a force so strong that neither of them could deny it. McKenzie now has no choice but to face Olivia in order for her and Drew to move on with their lives together. He’ll do anything necessary to protect the woman he loves and the life he’s come to understand she deserves. Love brought them together and love will set them free.
Prologue McKenzie“What are you thinking about?” The soft rumble of Drew’s voice tickled my ear. My head rested on his shoulder, caught between reality and the world of dreaming. After everything that had happened, I was mentally and physically drained. Now, thirty-some-odd-thousand feet in the air and for the first time in months, I felt truly happy, which seemed strange since I was heading straight for a hornet’s nest. Boston scared me. Facing Drew’s family was bad enough, but coming face to face with one of my oldest and dearest friends, Olivia Hamilton, was even harder. For so long, I’d hidden from her my real reason for my leaving Sarasota. My departure hurt her in the worst sort of way. In her mind, I abandoned her when she needed me most. If she only knew the truth of how terrible of a person I really was, she wouldn’t consider me her best friend. Losing her friendship altogether was something I had to prepare myself for once we reached Boston. Gah, how was I to face her? Olivia deserved a friend who was there for her, as she had been for me when I lost everything I held dear in my life. She had so much on her plate already with her pregnancy and her job, and I was about to add to her burden by admitting that the father of her child and I were in love. It was because of me that all of her hopes and dreams would soon be destroyed. And while all of that weighed on me, my heart still couldn’t bear being another day without Drew. I’d punished myself long enough and suffered more heartache than anyone should have to endure. Losing Evan, then breaking up with Nate, then leaving Drew and abandoning Olivia—I was emotionally drained. Only hours earlier I was in church begging God for guidance. I was conflicted and needed answers. Drew was about to leave for Boston and wanted me with him, and I wanted to be with him. But the idea of openly admitting our love, not only to his family but to Olivia, while at a wedding, seemed in poor taste to me. My heart struggled with its need to be near Drew and my desire to protect my friend. Even though Drew had confessed time and time again he held no feelings for Olivia, I still felt terrible for the predicament she now found herself in. By the end of the service, I thought I was prepared to let him leave. Things were different now between Drew and me. All of the lies that held us back were no longer an obstacle. All that weighed between us was his family and my best friend. Those things could wait a week while he celebrated the union of Gavin, his older brother, and Morgan. Or so I thought. It wasn’t until Gavin became infuriated with the idea of leaving me behind that I realized I wasn’t trying to protect his wedding. I was afraid—terrified, really—of not only being hurt again, but of hurting someone I cared about. By not going to Boston, I was once again running away from my problems. No sooner had the fellas drove off, than I was in my car, barrelling down the E-way back to my apartment to pack. Poor Mackie, my kitten, thought I’d lost my mind as I shoved her little butt in a carryon. “I know what I’m thinking,” Jared piped up. He turned around in his seat, that winning smile of his plastered over his adorable face. I’d missed the shit out of him. Our long conversations on the phone weren’t enough. Out of everyone, including Olivia or Drew, I’d say Jared knew me the best. He had a huge heart and a witty, sometimes sadistic, sense of humor. His shaggy blond hair fell into his golden eyes, but that didn’t keep me from seeing them bounce with mischief. “And what’s that?” I dared to ask. Drew slipped his hand into mine. A soft chuckle resounded from his chest. It was strange seeing him laugh at Jared. When I left Sarasota, they could barely be in the same room together without daggers flying. My Neanderthal wasn’t too keen on the discovery that my best bud had developed feelings for me that surpassed friendship. If I were to be honest, I’d known Jared’s heart long before he revealed his secret. But my heart had been conquered by Drew. Talk about your messed up quadrangle. Olivia wanted Drew, but he loved me. Jared loved me, but I was in love with Drew. My life was one big soap opera. Jared drummed his fingers together, the corner of his mouth twitching. Gavin peered over the plush leather headrest and gave me the cutest little wink. His brown hair was slathered in a thick layer of gel. A thin beard lined his slim jaw. Eyes, blue as the ocean, stared back at me. They weren’t quite aquamarine like Drew’s, but they were pretty all the same. “So, what are we talking about?” he buzzed. “Jared here was just about to fill us in on what he was thinking. As if any of us cared,” Drew declared. Jared gave a dramatic gasp. “If that’s how you’re going to be…” He started to turn back around in his seat, feigning disappointment. Me, the ever gullible one, called out, “I care. What were you thinking, Jare?” Jared sprang back around, his smile flared wide. “I was thinking about the look on the Skanky Ho Momma’s face when she sees you.” He clapped his hands, flamboyant and giddy. “Someone better have a cell phone ready to snap a pic of that. I want to plaster it everywhere!” Drew cackled. “Why do you hate Liv so much?” I questioned. All of them did, and I couldn’t understand why. Okay, so she wasn’t Mother Teresa, but she’d always done right by me. She took care of me in college, and came to my rescue when I needed her most. Never once did she turn me away. Olivia might be self-centered and a little ostentatious with her wardrobe, but deep down, I knew she had a good heart. “I don’t hate her…” Jared paused, “…exactly. But I can say if she were ever on fire and I had a bottle of water,” his eyes bounced between the three of us as he leaned in closer and stage whispered, “I’d drink it.” Laughter ricocheted from Gavin and Drew throughout the compartment. Jared wore a look of pride at making everyone laugh. Well, almost everyone. Drew released my hand and nearly buckled over in laughter. “Quack, quack,” he snorted. This caused an even further uproar of laughter that I didn’t quite understand. “What the hell does that mean?” I demanded. It was difficult not to laugh with the three of them howling, but somehow I managed. “Nothing. Nothing.” Drew gasped for breath, holding his gut. “No! Really. Someone tell me what that means?” Drew, realizing I was getting a little frustrated, managed to calm down enough to tell me a story about Olivia appearing at his place wearing a bright yellow dress and waddling like a duck. “She’s got a baby bump, but she’s not big enough to waddle yet,” he crooned. All at once, the weight of everything came crashing back down on me. Olivia was pregnant with Drew’s child. Out of everything I would have to endure, that was probably the worst of it. I’d prepared myself for the shitstorm that would ensue the moment Olivia discovered Drew and I were together. Not that I would blame her for hating me. If the roles were reversed, I’d hate me, too. But her pregnancy was a constant reminder that she would always be in his life. Together, they had something I longed for…a baby. “Wow,” I muttered, unable to mask my disappointment. “I guess I missed a lot.” Gavin reached over the seat and patted my cheek. “Nothing you can’t get caught up on quickly.” “I guess.” Drew wrapped his arm around my shoulders, drawing me in close to him. “Honestly, Baby, you haven’t missed much. I’m happy to have you with us, Mickie. I can’t express how much we all missed you.” If he only knew that wasn’t what really had me upset. This was my secret to keep. A jealousy I would always have to endure. And maybe one day, Drew and I might start our own family. “Thank you.” I rested my head back on his shoulder and closed my eyes. He smelled so inviting, and his gentle touch was very relaxing. So relaxing, in fact, I fell asleep. I was awakened by the sound of the intercom coming to life. “Ladies and Gentleman, we are beginning our final descent to Boston Logan International. It’s now nine twenty-three P.M. local time, and the temperature is currently eighty-one degrees. We have certainly enjoyed having you aboard today, and we hope to see you again soon. Thank you again for flying Skyway Airlines, and have a wonderful evening.” My stomach lurched as the plane started to descend. I stretched, wiggling my toes inside my sneakers. “How long was I out?” “Not too long. You looked so peaceful. I couldn’t bring myself to wake you.” “You never could.” “I enjoy watching you sleep. It comforts me.” Drew brushed his knuckles across my cheek. “You comfort me.” I leaned into his hand, content to feel the warmth of his skin and the love in his touch. Drew placed a soft kiss to my lips. A bright smile appeared as he pulled back and glanced out the window. “Look, Baby.” I shifted forward to look out the window. Such beauty and history lay out before me as we lowered closer and closer to the ground. The evening glow of the moon danced over the water, and buildings full of history towered above the trees, beckoning me to explore their mysteries. “It’s gorgeous.” He leaned in and whispered tenderly in my ear, “Welcome to my home, Baby.” I turned my head to find the most amazing man staring back at me. His eyes were filled with so much love that it took my breath away. He cupped my face in his hands and kissed me.

Excerpt:
My phone rings, startling me. When I look at the screen and see Calvin’s name, I find myself letting out a little girlie squeal.
“Hello, you,” I say, snuggling into my seat.
“So, I wake up from an amazing sleep, look out of my window, and guess what?” he asks in a croaky voice, which sounds like he has, indeed, just woken up.
“What?”
“I see this beautiful girl sitting in a chair in her garden, sipping on what I assume is coffee, and I feel the need to say morning to her.”
“Is that right?” I smile.
“Yup.”
A noise coming from the bottom of my garden startles me. When I see Calvin jump my back fence using one arm, still holding his phone in the other, I can’t believe my eyes. He smiles and briskly walks over to me. I’m stunned, the damn phone still attached to my ear. As soon as he reaches me, he bends down and plants a small kiss on my mouth. He then smiles and says, “Morning”, before turning and walking back to the fence to jump it again. I’m totally dumbstruck. Who does that? Calvin, that’s who. I laugh and shake my head, ending the call when I hear his chuckle.

As always, I adored this book from R.E. Hargrave. She always manages to make me fall in love with her characters, and this book was no different. Ms. Hargrave always pushes the boundries between what we as readers expect and what we're given, and she does so with class and poise.
Heather is someone I found myself relating to. She has this passionate love for Cody, yet the fear of losing him is great. A perfect mix of emotions and desire, this book is a must read for anyone looking for a great read.

#TeaserTuesday
Today for #TeaserTuesday we get a teaser AND a BONUS!In the U.S., tomorrow is Tax Day, so how about a little freebie to help ease the pain a bit?UNSCHEDULED DEPARTURE by T.M. Franklin is FREE today and tomorrow!
Rowan Elliott is devastated when her boyfriend, Finn, tells her he’s moving across the country to take over the family business, and thrilled when he changes his mind at the last minute and gets off the plane. But then things get . . . weird. Finn’s acting strange, and Ro’s getting mysterious phone calls that have her questioning if her boyfriend’s really who she thinks he is. As Ro races to figure out what’s going on, she discovers it’s more complicated than she could have ever imagined.
And if she’s not careful, she could lose her Finn forever.
Here's a little taste...
"Ro, I have no idea what you're talking about," he said, pulling to an abrupt stop in the parking lot of my apartment building. "I never left a voicemail. Not today."
I fumbled in my bag for my phone. I was not imagining this. "You did. You called—" I thumbed through my calls and held it up victoriously so he could see. "—at 12:06 p.m. today. See?"
His eyes narrowed at the screen. "That says Private Number."
"Yeah. Yeah, I know. I was going to ask you about that."
"Why do you think that was me?"
I rolled my eyes. "Because you left a voicemail!" My voice grew louder, a little screechy, but I couldn't help it.
"Babe, I never left you a voicemail today!" Finn said, aggravation growing in his own tone. He pulled out his own phone and stabbed at it a few times. Finn's familiar ringtone sounded on my phone, his picture popping up on the screen, along with his name.
"See?" he said. "At 12:06 I was driving. I didn't call you. Whoever that Private Number was, it wasn't me." He tapped his phone and the ringtone stopped.
I stared at my phone and rubbed my forehead. My stomach roiled and an ache throbbed behind my eyes. "I don't understand. I heard—"
"Let me listen to the voicemail."
"It...got deleted." I met Finn's unreadable gaze and knew how it sounded. Weird. Crazy. But I had heard him. It was Finn.
Wasn't it?

Stardust (The Starlight Trilogy book #3) Excerpt
Beth’s forefinger traveled his bare chest in a languid, circular pattern. “Would you mind if I took a shower?”
“Not at all.” Aidan pulled back the covers. “I’ll set up everything for you. Wait here.”
“Actually, I would like you to join me. If you want to, that is.” Beth slipped out of bed and stepped over their Academy Awards. In the doorway, she stopped and held out her hand.
Aidan gaped at her, as if he was taking in her naked body for the first time. Her skin was flushed, well kissed. Her dark hair fell to just above her shoulders, sand-speckled from their visit to the beach yesterday. The swell of her breasts, the curve of her hips . . . everything about her was perfect.
If he wanted to?
Damn it. He wanted nothing more.

STARLIGHT EXCERPT:
Aidan cleared his throat. “Beth?”
“Yes, Aidan?”
“May I place a kiss on your cheek?”
“A kiss?” Heat fanned across her face. “Why, yes. I’d . . . I’d like that very much.”
“I’m sorry I’m asking you in my car—”
“I don’t mind. Honest.” Her blush deepened.
Aidan draped his arm over her seat and moved closer . . . closer. Then, finally, his lips were near hers. “I had a wonderful time with you today.”
“Me, too.” Beth closed her eyes.
Aidan pressed his lips to her cheek, followed by her jaw, stirring something intensely pleasurable deep inside her, which she’d never felt previously. It drilled into her very being, transforming her longing for him into something so fierce she thought she’d cease living if he didn’t give her what she wanted immediately.
Beth took in a sharp breath as he moved lower . . . lower. When his lips met her neck, desire rippled from her head to her toes and she let out a gasp. “Oh my!”
Aidan flung back against the driver’s door, his eyes wide and his hands yanking at his hair. “Beth, I’m sorry! I got carried away. Damn it. I’m so sorry . . .”
It took her a moment to realize he’d misinterpreted her response. “No, Aidan. Wait. I didn’t react that way because you made me feel uncomfortable.”
He dropped his hands from his hair. “Then why?”
“I, uh . . .” She lowered her gaze. “I liked what you were doing . . . a lot.”
“Are you sure?”
“Yes.” Beth’s next words were unladylike, but the absence of his lips on her skin drove her crazy. “Actually, I’d like for you to do it again. Kiss my cheek. My neck . . . That is, if you don’t mind.”
“Mind?” Aidan shook his head. “I’d be honored.”

STARBRIGHT (The Starlight Trilogy Book #2) Cover, Synopsis, and Exclusive Excerpt
STARBRIGHT SYNOPSIS
For starlet Elizabeth Sutton, it’s difficult to tell which has more momentum: her burgeoning film career, or the growing intimacy in her forbidden romance with notorious Hollywood outsider, Aidan Evans.
When the opportunity to costar in a feature film arrives, Beth and Aidan fight to keep their relationship out of Hollywood’s rumor mill and away from the ever-watchful eyes of Starlight Studios head Luther Mertz, who condemns a union between them and threatens the future of Beth’s acting career.
The pressure mounts as the cameras roll. Beth and Aidan navigate the precarious heights of superstardom while exploring their physical desires in secret. Beth grapples between the debilitating nervousness over her sexual inexperience and her unbridled need for Aidan. Meanwhile, the demons from Aidan’s past he thought forever vanquished linger on the fringes of a fragile inner peace . . .
The Starlight Trilogy is a story of love and redemption set against the backdrop of the final years of Hollywood's Golden Age.
STARBRIGHT EXCERPT
The door opened and Aidan emerged from the bathroom, vigorously rubbing his hair with a towel. He wore navy blue briefs and a white T-shirt that hugged him across his chest and shoulders.
With the setting of the sun, darkness shrouded the room except for the soft light from the table lamp, lending him an ethereal glow. He looked like a powerful blend of runway model and unadulterated male. Her imagination couldn’t have constructed a more handsome man.
Any apprehension Beth had about her appearance vanished when Aidan spotted her on the bed. He didn’t say a word, but the truth sparked in his eyes. They consumed her ravenously, as if one good look wasn’t nearly enough.
He cleared his throat, though his voice sounded no less rough because of it. “Please stand up so I can see you properly.”
Beth tried to breathe normally, but it was impossible. She slid across the mattress, feeling a heightened awareness of every part of her body under his dedicated stare. As her bare feet met the carpet, she adjusted her nightgown. She wanted nothing more than to please him, to give him the show he craved and so much more.
“Turn around.” Aidan’s gentle plea was belied by the hunger in his eyes.
Beth did as he requested, receiving a sense of empowerment and pleasure that could never come from being one of the most popular actresses in the country, but only from the admiration of the man for whom she cared so deeply—the man who knew the real her, not the enhanced version created by the movie studio, and still desired her above all other women.
At the completion of her rotation, Beth made the thrilling discovery that Aidan was aroused. His erection pushed against his briefs, giving her the strongest indication yet as to how he looked beneath them. She longed to touch him like she did in the bathroom at his house, only in the flesh. And this time, she would bring him to orgasm.
Aidan set down the towel and moved toward her, his hair wild and damp, his eyes gloriously green and greedy. Beth breathed in deeply as his arms encircled her waist and he pulled her close. He smelled like lavender soap and summer rain.
“You look stunning, Beth.” Aidan whispered the words, but they resonated as though he’d shouted them for the world to hear.
He leaned forward and kissed her carefully, kindling her internal flame of desire. Beth pushed her hands into his hair and pressed her lips more firmly to his, even adding a bit of tongue.
Aidan pulled back. His eyes searched hers, as if he sensed there was an additional method to her erotic madness. “Have you ever had an orgasm?”
Beth frowned. While she’d hoped that was where things would lead for both of them tonight, she wasn’t expecting such a blunt question. “I told you I’ve never been with a man before you.”
“I know.” Aidan glided his hands down her back, caressing her with silk and sweetness. “What I mean is… have you ever pleasured yourself?”
Beth’s eyes widened. “No, never. I was always under the impression it was inappropriate for a woman to… you know…”
The silence that greeted her was unnerving.
“Why, is that bad?” She pitched him a tentative glance.
“It’s not bad.” His voice sounded throatier than before.
“Are you certain?”
Aidan’s eyes grew darker. “I prefer that you’ve never had an orgasm.” He leaned in until his hot breath skated across her face. “Because I want to be the one to give you your first.”
Beth’s flame ignited into a raging inferno.
With a hum, Aidan brushed his lips to her ear, his fingers dancing over the skin the lace of her negligee revealed. “And I would like to do it tonight. That is, if you’ll award me the honor, little dove.”
Beth’s anxiety vanished as her desire and anticipation solidified into something so overwhelming, she couldn’t dream of saying no to him.
“I’m yours, Aidan.” A desperate whimper joined her reply. “Lay your hands on me… please.”
