A Little Introduction
My name is David C. Bell, and you’ve found the newsletter for my publishing company, Wayfarer Tales.
Here I share updates about the books I’m working on, as well as excerpts from chapters.
Get in touch with me at wayfarertalesllc@gmail.com
I also have another newsletter at tablesoftheheart.substack.com. Swing by if you’re interested in my religious newsletter.
Here’s a little about me…I still remember my first English professor in college.
Angie Lasagna.
Her class was the first time I wrote creatively at any length, and I happened to find it incredibly enjoyable. But years of research papers and technical writing shifted my focus away from the creative side of writing.
I graduated in 2016 with a B.S. in Geography from Park University. A year later, I abandoned his career path in Environmental Regulations to strike out on my own. Working blue collar jobs for many years following, I continued to write on the side for my newsletter, 'Tables of the Heart'. After the birth of our first daughter, my wife finally convinced me to pick up creative writing again in 2024.
I love writing stories of redemption, loss, and human connection. Many of the themes in my books derive from my own personal experiences, or from those I’ve witnessed in others. I also draw inspiration from fantasy and mystery genres, such as H.P. Lovecraft, The OA, M. Night Shyamalan, and Mike Flanagan. My favorite authors are Tolkien, John Muir, and Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. But my greatest inspiration comes from the source of all true and great mysteries, the Ancient of Days, the Great Mystery Himself.
