Flicker
The Book of Senryu
Flicker – a delightfully wicked collection of senryu or human haiku.
Flicker is a delightful collection of senryu or human haiku. In Flicker, Reed has brought together a series of poetic postcards, entwining the ever-changing nature of the Devon countryside with the lives of some of the fascinating people she has encountered on her travels.
This collection is a rollercoaster of human emotion ranging from sensitive portrayals to a wicked commentary on the host of characters she has met in her travels including jealous wives, wandering husbands, bored businessmen, an ever-scribbling writer, an aging Goth, a time traveller, and the infamous animal man of Crediton.
‘I have always loved haikus because they are different from regular poetry – they are also very thought provoking. You really have to sit and think about it. P. J Reed is such a great writer and I love the way she writes things. Also the illustrations are very beautiful.’ C.

Azovtal
The world was fascinated by the plight of the defenders of the Azovstal Steel Plant who held their position while completely surrended by Russian forces. This poem was written as a tribute and record of their defiance in the face of insurmountable odds.
