The Book That Wouldn’t Burn by Mark Lawrence
It can be read as a fantastic story about books and the love for words. It can be read as a story about an outsider finding her way against the odds.It can be read as a story about there being at least two sides to every story. It can be read as a love story, even though I’d never call it a romance in the least. It can also be read as a story about not giving up, no matter what comes your way.

The Hallows by H. L. Tinsley
The Hallows by H. L. Tinsley is a 1920s urban fantasy, which was a very nice change in pace! It’s not as dark as her previous series, but it still is just as unique and wonderfully weird. I mean, floating nuns who somehow turned into fighters as well? How could I not ask for an early copy to read??

Gates of Sorrow by J. E. Hannaford
Gates of Sorrow is a great sequel! While many sequels suffer from middle book syndrome, this was just as enjoyable as the first. As book one ended on a cliffhanger, book two jumps right back into the action. Or rather, into the plot! While there are some action scenes, this book is way more about the people, the plans, the world, and everything going on.
