You know, the "leftover" kids - the ones who get swept aside whether intentionally or unintentionally due to the other child (or children) needing so much more focus.

There are so many kids out there with learning disabilities, emotional difficulties, behavior problems, mental health issues, etc. and yet how often do we as a society take a look at their brothers and sisters and ask "how are they being affected and what can we do to help them, too"?

I think, overall, schools, parents, counselors, etc. are trying their hardest. But when dealing with a mental health, behavior, or learning issue let's not forget to take a look at the other kids in the family, too. Especially when the family is dealing with major crises situations like Carleigh's brother's schizophrenia. (less)

I tried to work through Thanksgiving - taking breaks here and there from stuffing myself with sweet potatoes and gravy. It didn't really work out that well. Turns out that stuffing yourself too full will make you sleepy...and less likely to write. haha

But now I'm back to my usual routine and so hopefully this will get me writing more again. I've started a new project and I'm kind of psyched fo... Read more of this blog post »

Flight (aka working title) (Science Fiction & Fantasy)
8 chapters   —   updated Feb 17, 2012 08:17AM
Description: With the one year anniversary of her brother’s death approaching, Krista is forced to face her inner demons – horrors that threaten to pull her family apart, break her sanity and her faith. The new boy at school, Andy, showers her with unwanted attention. Her friends think she is simply losing touch with reality because she isn’t actually dealing with her brother’s death. It doesn’t help that Krista finds herself drawn to the mysterious young man who hangs out by her church, staring at the doors but never entering. Homecoming is quickly approaching, Andy is making her more uncomfortable with each passing day, and the guy at church appears to know more than humanly possible about Heaven and Hell, and her enduring faith in God is threatened by repressed anger. Will this lost soul find her way to safety and salvation?

Annalise’s Recent Updates

Annalise Grey is 30% done with Shadow on the Crown: I was enjoying the book so far until about chapter 14/15 (I'm listening on audio) when I hear the narrator use the word "n*ggardly". I skipped back 30 seconds because surely no modern author or editor would EVER allow that word in a book like this and yes, there it is. WHO THE FUCK APPROVED THAT WORD?!?! I'm beyond pissed.

Good! Just busy with school work and kids. And trying to find time to write. LOL We're in winter up here and it's cooooold. We've had snow and plenty of ice lately. I'm a bit envious that you are in summer! Walk outside in the sunshine and think of your Yankee friends freezing their bums off!
