Weekend Writing Warriors-Rescue by Ruin Snippet 9
Welcome to the Weekend Writing Warriors. Each Sunday we share 8 sentences from a current or finished manuscript. Click here for the rest of the amazing writers participating.
Today I have the final snippet from Rescue by Ruin, a Victorian steampunk story. Bea and Vaughn escaped the AirPirates and Lord Waldon and withdrew to Vaughn’s house where they shared some alone time. They were just getting to the juicy bits when they are interrupted by Gerrard, the butler.
“Sir, it appears that your expectations were indeed correct. Lord Waldon decided to visit, but due to the late hour he chose to come through the back door and be accompanied by four automatons; rather large automatons.”
Vaughn came to attention. “Are you and the rest of the staff all right?” Bea came to stand beside him; he held the receiver so she could hear what Gerrard had to say.
“Certainly, sir, the rest of the staff has left and your AetherBomb worked just as you planned. No machinery works inside the radius. It is as if an invisible shield surrounds me; two of his Lordship’s automatons attempted to come through, but just froze and then deactivated.”
Happy Sunday and Happy Writing.
Forced to marry a violent man, Beatrice knows only one way out—ruin her reputation. She climbs aboard the Venia, a dirigible of ill repute, for a masquerade. Bea does not expect to run into Vaughn Kemple, the third Duke of Missenden, who eight months ago left her without an explanation. Feeling secure behind her mask, she decides Vaughn will be the one to ruin her. She may not get to spend forever with this man she still loves, but at least she can have one night of pleasure.
But a mask is not enough to hide her identity. Vaughn recognizes Bea, shocked to find her aboard an airship where sexual freedom isn’t just a thought, it’s celebrated. But her actions are far from innocent. Captivated, he’s determined to make her his.
The heat between them flares, but Vaughn is torn between desire and honor. Bea is afraid to risk her heart on a man she can’t trust. And when her future husband arrives on the scene, it’s more than their hearts in danger.

On Friday I have to get back on a plane and leave summer and sun behind. It’ll be even harder to leave my friend behind, but luckily I’ll see her in New Orleans in May at the Romantic Times Convention.
Before I am once again surrounded by snow let me share some of the wonderful photos I’ve taken.
Outside my window
Some of the wildlife;)
Water, water and more water;)
Wherever you are have a Happy Thursday!

Weekend Writing Warrior-Rescue by Ruin Snippet 8
Welcome to the Weekend Writing Warriors. Each Sunday we share 8 sentences from a current or finished manuscript. Click here for the rest of the amazing writers participating.
Today I have another snippet from Rescue by Ruin, a Victorian steampunk story. Bea and Vaughn escaped the AirPirates in a dashing flight filled with swash and buckle. Now they are back on the ground and Bea has to decide on what she wants to do next.
“He studied her face. “Is that really what you want? Don’t you think we have a few things to talk about, Beatrice?”
Bea wanted to curl her cheek into the warmth of his hand. His eyes, even covered by goggles, held a need and a vulnerability she couldn’t ignore. Nor could she ignore the demand inside herself to spend more time with this exciting and fascinating man.
And they had to talk about how to move on from this tenuous position.
She nodded.”
I am currently enjoying the beautiful sunshine on St. Croix. Here is the view from my window:
Happy Sunday and Happy Writing.

Valentine’s Day Blog Hop and Give-Away!
Valentine Week is a great week to have fun through blog hops and win amazing prizes!
My plans for the 14th include two three hour long journeys on the plane (and I am such a bad flyer!!!!!*GULP*), an endless lay-over in Miami airport and then the final destination. The last is the one to celebrate;).
I am visiting a wonderful friend and fellow author Lexi Post in sunny St. Croix. I am very much looking forward to running away from the mountains of snow and the horrendous temperatures of around -20C (-4F). I have never been to the Caribbean. I cannot wait to see Lexi and celebrate the wonderful fun in the sun (and her amazing ice cream;).
My prize for this Valentines’s fun hop is one of my sexy books. Just tell me what your Fantasy Valentine’s Day would look like.
The Grand Prize will be a Kindle Paperwhite and digital new adult romance basket. Every comment on every blog in the hop will count as an entry toward either of the Grand Prizes.

Weekend Writing Warriors-Rescue by Ruin Part 7
Welcome to the Weekend Writing Warriors. Click here for the rest of the amazing writers participating.
Today I have another snippet from Rescue by Ruin, a Victorian steampunk story. Bea and Vaughn are under attack from AirPirates and the man Bea is desperately trying to get away from. They’d slid into a secret compartment in the wall and are now trying to sneak away without being found. As always, please excuse my use of semicolons;).
“Vaughn gently nudged against her heels with the tip of his shoe; she narrowed her gaze at him; he stood on tiptoes; she nodded and did the same.
Slowly, with great care, Vaughn began to move backward, Bea tucked against his chest; she followed his every move, cautious not to drop her heels onto the wooden floor.
“Did you idiots let her slip through your fingers? Did the little bitch sneak past you?” The sound of flesh hitting flesh echoed through the narrow passageway.
Bea grabbed his shirt and paused for a moment; he nuzzled her cheek and her sensitive earlobe. “He won’t get you, I promise.” His breath teased a few strands of her hair curling around her ear; the tension did not leave her completely, but she nodded and loosened her grip.”
Sexy Steampunk 2 is done and with my editior. Now I am working through the outline of Sexy Steampunk 3, but the heroine is giving me trouble. Why has she done what she has done? Why would she risk everything the way she is doing? Let’s just say at the moment she is intriguing and mysterious;).
Happy Sunday and Happy Writing.

Have a Laugh!
Here are some of my favourite superbowl ads.
Can you count all the familiar faces? Total blast from the past.
Whoever made this ad knew exactly what they were doing;). Just watch the faces…
Slightly naughty, but absolutely hilarious…

Of Horses and Puppies…
I don’t drink beer, but the Budweiser commercial grabbed me by the throat. Looking on youtube I discovered last year’s commercial as well.
Not quite sure where the beer comes into play, but I LOVE the story in these two Budweiser commercials.
They are just so cute and I don’t mind looking at the handsome farmer;).
Happy Monday!

Weekend Writing Warriors-Rescue by Ruin Part 6
Welcome to the Weekend Writing Warriors. Click here for the rest of the amazing writers participating.
Today I have another snippet from Rescue by Ruin, a Victorian steampunk story. After all the smexy stuff we’ve had over the last few weeks here is a bit of action. Bea and Vaughn were just about to get up, close and personal in one of the cabins, when they are rather rudely interrupted by AirPirates. But these are no average pirates.
“At each cabin, the pirates dragged its female occupant before the man in black; each time he shook his head. The pirates pushed the women and some of the men who’d attempted protection back into their cabins.
“For God’s sake, how fucking difficult can it be to find one lousy female dressed in red with a ruby face mask?” roared the man.
Vaughn recognized him and refused to call the bastard a gentleman.
Anger and disgust curled in his stomach. He hated the other man and wanted nothing more than to storm out there and beat him to a pulp.
But that wouldn’t do. Not now.
He gently closed the door and turned to Bea: “Can you think of a reason why Lord Waldon is ravaging the Venia in an attempt to find you?””
I am so close to finishing the edits on Sexy Steampunk 2 I can nearly touch it. Of course that means I have to write the synopsis, but for once I don’t mind because it means I am DONE! Happy Sunday and Happy Writing.
