my life in words
This is the story my husband wrote of what happened to us today at the park.
"It Wasn't Just A Walk In The Park"
“Many are the plans in a man’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.”
Today Tonya and I decided to go for a walk. The temp was 53 with sunny blue skies. As we left the house I asked her where she wanted to walk at? She didn't care so we took our cameras and water, and I took her to the park that was 3 minutes away. As we pulled up to the park there were only 2 or 3 cars were there, which was a good thing because we like being by ourselves.
The park was fairly quiet, but as we got ready to open the door to start our walk all at once it was as if every teenager with a car pulled up, one after another, after another. Tonya said, “WHAT IS ALL THIS?” It was almost funny. We say we can stand in the can opener aisle in a store and everybody in the store will want a can opener at that very moment. So it was no surprise that we put value on the empty, quiet park that we almost had to ourselves.
Car after car pulled up, and before it was all said and done about 20 young men, 17-20 years old, headed into the park to play flag football. We got out and started our walk past where these guys were playing and went about our way, ( all the time we were gone God had something on His mind unbeknown to us).
We took 400 pictures on our walk it was such an awesome day. As we were on our way back towards the car so we could keep walking to the next section of the park, we stopped to take pictures of these guys playing football. Snap, Snap, Snap. We never take pictures of people playing football, it was very unusual for us both to do this, (God was leading and guiding our steps unbeknown to us).
One guy was standing on the side of the field waiting to play, we noticed him and Tonya said, “He must be waiting to play.” He had a football in his hand and was throwing it up in the air. As he watched the game he noticed us about 30 yards away taking pictures. Tonya said, “I am going to get him to “Tebow” so I can take a picture of him.” So she said, “Do a “Tebow,” to this young man, and smiled, dropped to one knee and he did it. It was so cool she snapped several pictures thanked him and we went on our way. That was so abnormal for us, but it felt right for whatever reason, (God knew what was going to happen in about an hour or so, and had us in mind).
We headed to the other sections of the park taking lots of pictures. We talked to several people on our walk that were out just enjoying the day like us. As we were ready to head to the car, I suggested for us to go a different way that was opposite to where the guys were playing football, but Tonya said she wanted to get all the guys do a “Tebow” together. So we turned around and headed back to where the guys were playing.
I sat in the grass on the hill watching and waiting to see how she was going to pull this off. About the time she was fixing to call out to the teams, the same young man she took a picture of an hour or so before, started to run a play, but suddenly stopped. It was obvious he was in great pain holding his chest, pacing around, and bending over because he felt like he was going to vomit. He was in great pain, and from where we were at it looked like he needed help. Tonya started walking toward him, he was about 30 yards away, and asking him if he was ok? As she got up to him she asked him if he wanted to see the pictures she took of him “Tebowing,” and showed him the pictures. The whole time she was talking to him I was taking pictures of the event in progress. I knew what was getting ready to happen. I knew she was going to pray for him. I just knew the pain he was having was life threatening, and I knew she was going to be willing to allow the power of God flow through her to set him free so he could keep playing with his friends. I had complete peace as she talked to him, and it was obvious to me that she had complete peace too. I began praying in the Spirit, and just kept on shooting. The whole time the game was still going on right next to them only feet away.
She said afterward, that it looked as if he was experiencing the symptoms of a heart attack. Chest pains, radiating pains in chest and arm, nausea, sweating, extremely short of breath and could only breathe very shallow. He kept rubbing his chest and walking around. She asked him if he had fallen or had gotten hit in the ribs and he said, “No Ma'am, I just took off running and this horrible pain started in my chest and ran over to my shoulder.” She asked if she could pray for him and he said, “Yes Ma'am.” By then he could barely talk because of the pain and not being able to breathe. So she laid her hands on him right there on the football field, commanded the pain to leave, and for healing to flow. She prayed for what seemed like 2 minutes while the game was going on right behind them, and said there was intense heat under her hand that was right over his heart. Satan is the one that comes to steal, kill and destroy, but it is God's desire for everyone to be healed. By His stripes we WERE, and ARE healed. It was incredible. It was totally supernatural.
When she was done, she asked him if he was a Christian and he said, “Yes Ma'am, I am.” She asked him if the pain was gone, and he looked at her, took a slow, deep breath, and said, It's gone, the pain is gone.” She smiled and said, “Well, let's get our Praise On,” and the clasped their hands together, hugged, and raised their hands up together in Praise. She told him that if that pain tried to come back for him to take authority over it, and for him to command it to leave just like she had done. He smiled, and with tears in his eyes he said, “Yes Ma'am, I WILL,” and he walked over and started playing football. He was swinging his arms, and clapping his hands as he walked over to his friends. Tonya walked back over to me with a sweet peace all over her.
It was no coincidence that we were at that park, at that exact time today. It was a totally Divine Appointment that God set up for us at that very moment in time. I believe it changed that young man's life forever, because I believe it saved his life, but we won't know the rest of the story until Heaven. One of Tonya's favorite quotes that she's written is, “There are no coincidences, only perfectly orchestrated moments of time by God.” Today we were Blessed to find ourselves right in the middle of one of those perfectly orchestrated moments of time by God. ~Kevon

my life in words
This was the day that put into motion a change in my life I never would have asked for, certainly didn't want, but have found countless Blessings in through the years.
This was the day I "officially" became a Caregiver. It wasn't the day my mom came to live with me, that didn't happen for another year or so after this day. But this was the day I became her Caregiver.
This was the day my dad walked the most important steps of his life's journey.
This was the day my dad walked into "Home" to Heaven.
This was the day I learned the meaning of loss, sorrow, heartbreak, and grief. I still miss him terribly, that will never end. But I know we're only temporarily separated. These years apart could never compare to the eternity I will spend with him later. So, until we are together again I will Love him in my heart.
This was the day my Caregiving journey began. I had no idea me being a Caregiver would ever help anyone else other than my mom, but it has, and it is. Because of what I have gone through my life has changed, and I am now able to help others "Embrace" their change. I have watched myself change from a caterpillar to a butterfly.
This was the day I became a "Caregiver" and a "Life Changer." I started out as a Caterpillar on my Caregiving journey. Then I was transformed into a Butterfly and became a "Life Changer."
There's no better day than this day to release one of the most important songs I will ever release. I had no idea on this day, those years ago, that I would write a song to pay tribute to ALL CAREGIVERS EVERYWHERE. That is what this song is. Knowing what a Caregiver's life is like has caused me to have an extremely soft heart for other Caregivers. Until you ARE one, you really have no idea what their life is like.
So, to honor my awesome dad's love and laugh-filled memories, I am choosing this day to honor all Caregivers by releasing my newest single, "to remember love."
Until the next time we talk......Stand firm on Philippians 4:13.

my life in words
In the Studio today finishing up on my part on a song that is EXTREMELY important to me.
It is an Anthem and my Tribute to ALL Caregivers everywhere. I write and sing what I live. This song is the epitome of my Caregiving Life. And it is the epitome of your Caregiving Life if you are a Caregiver. It doesn't matter the condition of the person you care for. The heart of all Caregivers beat the same beat.
I can't wait to share this song with you. It WILL be the title song of my new CD. It won't be long until I will be able to give you my song, my heart, "to remember love."
Until the next time we talk......Stand firm on Philippians 4:13.
