Don't turn around!
I had a weird experience last night. I ran up to the store (Arlan's, but we here still call it Wuest's although Wuest's has been officially out of business hereabouts for many years) to get bread. It was lightning outside and the air was still, hot, and humid. It was an eerie calm. As it's Sunday night, there really wasn't anyone out so the quiet was even more noted. When I parked, I stepped out into the thick, hot air. The sky lit up as I pushed my door closed. My eyes caught on the side-view mirror as the door swung closed and I saw, for a quick second, a figure reflected behind me. It happened fast, but the impression was a short, thin white body with large dark eyes. I was about to turn around and look, but my body froze and something in me said "don't turn around". Some instinct took over and just kind of walk-ran into the garage and closed the door. I stood inside by the door that goes into the kitchen and watched as the garage door completed closing, but by then, I couldn't see out into the driveway and the street. It was just a really bad feeling. Instinct is simply the ability of all your sensory perceptions to be read by your subconscious brain than your conscious brain. Mine said NO! Don't look. So I didn't. My gut felt tight, and that apprehensive feeling of someone standing me behind me had my heart speeding up. I was thinking once I got inside that a lot of lightning produces very active electrical charges in the air.....which, if you believe in the spirits, you know this helps them materialize. I have no idea what I saw. I have only an impression and feeling, and I'm not a person who gets easily scared of anything. But that feeling....yikes! I also have a sneaking suspicion this might find its way into a story somewhere down the line. I hate to waste a good scare.

KSYM 90.1 FM Night Moves interview with author Michele E. Gwynn
I had the best time last week! I got to visit my old radio station at San Antonio College for an interview on Night Moves, KSYM 90.1 FM with hostess Ann Hardee. The topic was erotica in literature, and a good time was had by all. It sure was nice to be back in the RTF Building, and great to see my fave professor, and Music Business Dept. Director, Donnie Meals. Check out the interview which was just loaded today on their page for encores....in case you missed it LIVE last week.

What's new and artsy too
Hello, friends!
I wanted to check in and let you know what's been going on in my world. Well, I just published out a new contemporary romantic half-novel, Waiting a Lifetime. It's an emotional tale that explores whether love can last beyond a single lifetime - a love across time tale for lovers of romance who want to feel as much as possible in a short amount of time.
I was asked to write the back cover for a new art book that will be published in the Netherlands by a talented photographer and friend. It's filled with so much talent that it will simply overwhelm you! I'll be sure to post about it when it launches, but until then, it's still hush-hush, but I'm so excited to be able to offer my thoughts, impressions, and queue up my sales pitch for so many amazing artists!
In between, I visited my Alma Mater, San Antonio College, dropping into KSYM 90.1 FM to do an interview with radio host, Ann Hardee of Night Moves which airs Wednesday nights at 10 p.m. CST. You can listen to the pre-recorded interview coming up this week (?, I believe) here: https://www.mixcloud.com/NightMovesKSYM/
The topic is erotica in literature, and it sure was a blast to be back in the studio where I trained while earning my degree in Broadcasting.
There's been some preparation also for the upcoming Deep in the Heart Author Event that will be here in my hometown of San Antonio on February 6th, 2016. Books have to be ordered, author swag, cool banners, and of course, epic planning with my fellow Crazy Lady Authors who will also be there along with me: Jami Brumfield, Samantha Jacobey, Aubree Lane, Nikki Lynn Barrett, Alisa Mullen, Kelly Cozzone, Teri Riggs, Diane Rinella, and Jennifer Theriot.
In the interim, I've begun book III in the Kriminal Erotic Series, The Redemption of Joseph Heinz. Book III takes you into St. Petersburg, Russia. Heinz follows a new lead on a cold case, one that has haunted him and eventually caused the loss of all he held dear, his wife and daughter, and very nearly, his career. His guilt sentenced him to a life of self-hate until a ledger containing the names of abducted girls recovered from the Vledelets offered hope. Now, with the wedding to his partner-turned-love of his life, Birgitta Mahler drawing near, Detective Heinz must find a way to finally close the door on his old life and begin anew. But will the choice be his or will he be pulled into a new nightmare by none other than the current leader of the Russian crime syndicate? Vladimir Brezhnev, a cold and brutal man known to his enemies as 'The Butcher' recognizes no laws but his own, but he does owe a favor...to Officer Elsa Kreiss. Will Joseph's protege invite danger into her new stable life to save his or will the Russian underground swallow them both whole?
Whew! That sounds juicy, doesn't it? I'll also be writing the first full length novel in the Ghosts of Cardiff Series for publication at the end of the year. You can get acquainted with Father Cai Sayer and a hint at the first story in my short,
Murder in the Vale: The Beginning
.
As if that weren't enough, look for three more short stories as well. Census (Book III in the Harvest Trilogy), Book III in the Angelic Host Series will focus on The Keeper of Sorrow and Tears, Cassiel, and finally, a short for a fantastic Christmas anthology with my Crazy Lady Authors.
The new year will see my first Gothic tale of lost love in a vampire novel honoring the traditional lore. I'm pretty excited, but I'm going to need lots of spray tan because unless I can manage some writing time on the beach, I'm going to get pretty pasty! But I love what I do, and I know you do, too.
What's your favorite book that I've written so far? Which new story are you most looking forward to?
