Damn me from the past!
Marty’s photo of the day #2685: I try to avoid posting the same photo twice, but sometimes I forget. This morning I was going through my Borneo photos and came across this frog. I did a little sharpening and a little cropping but couldn’t remember the species name. I have several identification books, but since I photographed this frog while backpacking deep in Borneo’s rainforest, I thought I’d have better luck using the internet instead. I Googled “Borneo Green Tree Frog” and clicked “Images.” I scrolled down to the third row and found the perfect match. Oh, and the frog was in the exact same pose as well. Obviously the shot was taken by a highly skilled photographer! I clicked the image, and as you’ve certainly guessed, it was taken by me. I read the text. “This is an unidentified green tree frog . . .”
Damn me from the past! I should have done better research the first time I posted. Okay, this time I put more effort into it. I’m 90 percent sure this is a black-spotted rock frog.

Traitors to their own.
An article in today’s Missoulian features the president of the Lewis & Clark Republican Women’s club all giddy because the Matt Kavanaugh hearing invigorated her cult. Yes, the club’s membership of creepy white women has actually grown.
How sad that Christine Blasey Ford—terrified but brave, forced out of her house because of death threats, and testifying out of a sense of civic duty—gives Republican women extra incentive to vote GOP. Because, you know, they can’t have yet another of their right-wing sexual predators treated unfairly.
Do these Republican women understand that pussy grabbers and rapists don’t stop first to ask what political party their victims support? Do these Republican women realize that they are telling the daughters and granddaughters of Republican parents that they are supposed to just take it and shut up?
History is filled with traitors to their own: Jews who helped Hitler, Blacks who oppose the 13th Amendment, and, of course, white women who adore angry sexual predators like Trump and Kavanaugh.
After the last election, I will never trust the polls again. But one thing is for sure: the November 6th election will be a referendum on the soul and sanity of the American people.

Along the Macal River
Marty’s photo of the day #2684: I took this photo while canoeing on the Macal River in Belize. Iguanas, like this one, live in the trees along the riverbank.

Martyman plays for Melania Trump
Upon hearing Melania Trump claim, “I’m the most bullied person on the world,” Martyman decided to get out the world’s smallest violin to play the world’s saddest song on her behalf.
Either that or he just finished reading Stormy Daniels’ book and is trying to visualize Donald Trump’s Mushroom Mario Kart. I’m not sure which.

Look closely . . .
Marty’s photo of the day #2683: I took this photo in Canada’s Northwest Territories. If you look carefully, you can see hundreds of Porcupine caribou, in the midst of their 800 mile-long migration—the longest of any land animal. Later, Deb and I would meet up with the caribou and hike with them for a short distance. It was awesome!

Hanging out with the whales
Marty’s photo of the day #2682: What was the highlight of my travels to all seven continents? Spending two hours with three humpback whales (two adults and a baby) along the coast of Antarctica.

Brett Kavanaugh please report to . . .
“On behalf of our nation, I would like to apologize to Brett and his family for the terrible pain and suffering that you have been forced to endure.”
—Donald Treason Trump (at Brett Blackout Kavanaugh ceremonial swearing-in)
“On behalf of our 65,844,954 sane American voters, I would like to apologize to the rest of the world for the terrible pain and suffering we have all been forced to endure, due to an incompetent, insecure sexual predator and his bigoted, poorly educated followers. We will defeat the Cult of Trumpism, starting on November 6!”

The intelligent alligator
Marty’s photo of the day #2679: I love alligators! Here’s a short blurb from my second book, “Endangered Edens: Exploring the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, Costa Rica, the Everglades, and Puerto Rico”:
Scientists consider crocodilians, including alligators, to be the most intelligent of the reptiles. Not only can they learn travel patterns of potential prey, but they also occasionally use sticks as tools. Sinking low in the water, a crocodilian will balance a few sticks on its snout, and when a bird flies down to grab one for nesting material—wham! The bird becomes lunch.
