That's my anniversary rose bush which is currently dormant beneath the snow at the edge of the woodland garden. Brad gave it to me instead of a bouquet of roses for one of our anniversaries, knowing how much joy it would give me. Can't wait to see the first buds in a few months!

Happy 6th Blogiversary to A Piece of My Mind
This milestone crept up on me as I date stamped 'Feb. 5th, Feb. 5th' on documents at my day job.
I kept thinking, what's with Feb. 5th?
OH YEAH
Six years ago I stepped up to the podium and added my voice to the Blogosphere.
A Piece of My Mind quickly became one of the most joyous parts of my life. Thank you to everyone who stops here for awhile, reads, posts comments and has become a long-distance friend of mine over the years.

Today's tunes set the scene for SPEAK OF THE DEVIL, a Young Adult paranormal romance by brainstorming buddy Shawna Romkey . It releases on March 15th. I'll be reviewing her book on March 14th - 13 Reasons to Read SPEAK OF THE DEVIL.
Today marks the cover reveal for her debut novel - a pretty exciting moment for an author!

Thursday Thirteen - 264 - 13 Bits of Randomosity
1 – This was my reaction to a whole bunch of sale prices in the dairy aisle last night:
"Why is there so much of this stuff on sale? Is there something wrong with the refrigeration unit?"
I totally passed on the yogurt, even though I wanted some.
2 – The bus that rolled up to take me to work this morning had my birthday numbers on the front. I took that as a sign it would be a great day...and it was.
3 – Not that I'm recovered from Lady Sybil's sob-fest-inducing departure fro...

Thursday Thirteen - 262 - 13 Things I Discovered While Cleaning My Apartment
1 – My bedroom floor.
2 – A toony with dog hair clinging to it. Keep in mind that our dog passed away last January.
3 – A red blouse with the tags still on it. Yay, me! I need a red blouse for work. I guess that's why I bought it.
