Born and raised in Texas and now residing in Arizona, I published my first work Purgatory – 13 Tales of the Macabre in 2011, and Floor Four – A Novella of Horror. I am also writing the Night Dreams Series with episodes to be released every couple of months. I chose the Horror genre for the first few books, and have plans to write in different genres with short stories, novellas, and novels. I have a column “Ask AJ” which appears in the All Authors Magizine, and I have had short stories published on Dark River Press, The Sirens Call eZine Issue #14 and the upcoming anthology State of Horror Illinois by Charon Coin Press. Connect with me on Twitter, Facebook, Goodreads, or my blog.

Night Dreams (Episode One-The Beginning) (Horror)
1 chapters   —   updated May 13, 2015 06:34PM
Description: Night Dreams is series of novellas that follow a Dream Psychologist, Dr, Joseph Rickettes, who has no choice but to live out the nightmares of his patients in hopes of curing them of their demons. He is bound by the demons in their dreams, while he struggles to make sense of the nightmares that plague his own life. Episode One - The Beginning focuses on how it all started for Joseph and how he came to possess his power, or curse, to delve into and live out, the nightmares of others.
Purgatory 13 Tales of the Macabre (Horror)
1 chapters   —   updated May 13, 2015 06:32PM
Description: In the spirit of King, Laymon, Little, and Keene comes a collection of 13 Tales of Horror and the Macabre. One story begins in the name of research when a world-famous horror author spends the night alone in one of the most haunted houses around, "Ritter House", only to discover that reality is much more horrific than fiction. In "Road Trip", a man must travel across state lines to identify his brother's dead body and drive him home in the back of his station wagon to a mortuary run by a dead man. A man has 2 hours to try and prevent a catastrophe in the building that his wife works in. Only, he can't recall how or why, his only clue is the recurring nightmare he had 2 hours earlier, the clock ticks in "Tic Toc." Christmas will never be the same again for a little boy in "Santa Claws", and an old wooden box in a warehouse carries a story all its own in "The Crate”. A trip into “Purgatory” will open the door to these stories and more.

The idea behind the story-The Button Box-and the girl, Gwendy, in charge of it makes for a great story about life and decisions that lead to consequences. King and Chizmar combine for a great story and timely plot set in Castle Rock once again!

“Lightning flashed across the sky as she finished her call. Mary took a quick look at the dreary weather as a loud clap of thunder followed and vibrated in her”
A. Lopez Jr., Floor Four

“Jake’s body was found hung from the old piping on Floor Four. He, like the contract worker, was hung by a chain. But, unlike the worker, Jake’s throat was slit, with the sickle lying below him. It was not the trademark killing of The Mangler—with the sickle lodged in the chest. After a long investigation, the case was unsolved and considered a homicide. Everyone from the party was a suspect, interviews were done, with no leads found. Brandon was interviewed, after he came forward about being there that night, but no one knew that he saw The Mangler. Being young and scared, he never told the whole story. He was afraid that The Mangler would come after him since he was the last one to see him, and know the truth. He knew who murdered Jake.”
