I'm a queer author with a penchant for the dark and strange. I primarily write SFF but enjoy literary writing as well.

When not writing, I teach music at an international school, climb, eat anything involving peanut butter, and serve the whims of my shiba inu.

Okay so apparently I didn't realise this was a continuation of the earlier series, but I still really enjoyed it. I think having read Sandman gives me quite a bit of background for many of these characters.

I also sadly discovered the Lucifer TV show

Probably more like 3/3.5 stars to me, but definitely a case of 'it's me, not you' with this book.

Honestly, this was a strange one for me. I should've loved this book - and there was a lot I did love about the book - but it someone just didn't resonat

Making Connections: 30. DRAGON'S TEETH by Suzanne Van Rooyen 10 66 Apr 03, 2012 12:38PM
The Seasonal Read...: Summer Challenge 2014 Reading Plans 44 319 Aug 07, 2014 07:08AM
“I cannot express it; but surely you and everybody have a notion that there is or should be an existence of yours beyond you. What were the use of my creation, if I were entirely contained here? My great miseries in this world have been Heathcliff's miseries, and I watched and felt each from the beginning: my great thought in living is himself. If all else perished, and he remained, I should still continue to be; and if all else remained, and he were annihilated, the universe would turn to a mighty stranger: I should not seem a part of it. My love for Linton is like the foliage in the woods: time will change it, I'm well aware, as winter changes the trees. My love for Heathcliff resembles the eternal rocks beneath: a source of little visible delight, but necessary. Nelly, I am Heathcliff! He's always, always in my mind: not as a pleasure, any more than I am always a pleasure to myself, but as my own being.”
Emily Brontë, Wuthering Heights

“Have you ever been in love? Horrible isn't it? It makes you so vulnerable. It opens your chest and it opens up your heart and it means that someone can get inside you and mess you up.”
Neil Gaiman, The Kindly Ones

“Sometimes you wake up. Sometimes the fall kills you. And sometimes, when you fall, you fly.”
Neil Gaiman, Fables & Reflections

“I suspect there will never be a requiem for a dream, simply because it will destroy us before we have the opportunity to mourn it's passing.”
Hubert Selby Jr., Requiem for a Dream

“The night is the hardest time to be alive and 4am knows all my secrets.”
Poppy Z. Brite
