Image‘For all eternity: tales of the seven deadly sins’ is an upcoming anthology by Dark Opus Press, edited by A.W. Gifford and Jennifer L. Gifford. I’m pleased to announce that my short story ‘Hearts of gold’ will be in it.

The second annual anthology from Dark Opus Press, ‘For all eternity’ takes the form of seven disturbing tales each one dealing with a specific deadly sin: Envy, Greed, Gluttony, Lust, Pride, Sloth, or Wrath.

‘Hearts of gold’ takes on the sin of greed. Set against a 17th century...

M.R. Gott interviews Die Booth and LC Hu

M.R. Gott, author of ‘Where the Dead Fear to Tread’, recently interviewed me and LC Hu about ‘Re-Vamp’.

You can read the full interview here, where I also talk quite a lot about what projects I’ve got coming up in the near future.

Thanks very much to M.R. for supporting ‘Re-Vamp’ and for coming up with such good questions for us to get our teeth into!

Why I’m happy for you to hate my work

My friend Meredith just linked me to this article by Jacob Silverman, which really encompasses what I’ve been feeling for quite a while.

I’ve often talked about how tiring I find social networking (and being online in general) but I’m quite loathe to talk about this ‘officially’ on any of my ‘professional’ blogs. Even since I deleted my Twitter and my Tumblr because I just couldn’t keep up – the social networking was starting to seriously eat into my fiction-writing time – it just felt wrong t...

New books of mine added!

I'm just about starting to get the hang of this Goodreads lark I think... it's taken a while but I'm hoping to be a bit more active and maybe even participate in some discussions at some point (if I ever get the time to actually READ some new books!)

Thanks to the marvellous Goodreads librarians I've finally got all the books I'm in to date listed on my author page now, so please take a look, they're all brilliant collections (I say, completely without bias..! No, honestly - my stories are in VERY good company in all of the collections I've happily been published in). There are two new ones to shortly be added in September and October of this year too - watch this space!

Cheshire Cats for sale… get them before they’re (all) gone (except for their grins!)

I’ve recently set up a little ‘shop’ on my Facebook author page, for things that I can sell directly (rather than my books which can be purchased online through their retailers).

At the moment this is limited to some handmade necklaces (not really writerly but I promise any sales will fund writerly things!) and some prints, but I’m hoping to expand in time with lots of nice and ever-changing merch related to my writing.

Also on offer, after a bit of interest has been expressed, are prints of my...

Who won the Caucus race?

Last weekend saw Team There’s Only Alice (UK and Austria divisions!) convening in Oxford for the annual Alice Day celebrations. This mini festival, run annually by The Story Museum is now in it’s 5th year, with 2012 marking the 150th anniversary of the first telling of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.

A fantastic weekend was had by all of us, even though we only managed to make it around a small portion of the fantastic and varied events that were going on for the festival weekend.

We visited...

150 years of Wonderland – and how you can help preserve it for another 150 years!

Alice's Adventures in Wonderland - by Lewis Carroll edited by Sarah GrantToday marks the official launch of the There’s Only Alice project books.

This double-publication is a gorgeous new version of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass in one volume, with each chapter lavishly illustrated by a different artist from across the globe, and I had the honour of my Cheshire Cat illustration being voted as the front cover of the volume!

This project is the work of talented artist, writer and photographer Sarah Grant who has compiled, formatted and...

Castle Park: a very soggy Solstice

Yesterday evening saw the Castle Park Summer Solstice event, which unfortunately fell foul of the weather as many of this ‘summer’s’ events have! It was such a shame to see drenched performers running for shelter after braving the elements for an understandably disappointing turnout, but a credit to everyone involved that it all went ahead anyway.

I was lucky to be involved in one of the indoor events – readings from Chester Writers’ in the lovely setting of the Conservatory. The readings all...

Two acceptances in one week? Unheard of!

It really is about time I checked in to this blog and updated.

The reason for my prolonged absence has been, unsurprisingly, that I’ve been writing. Writing, writing, writing. Writing even more than is usual for me, a person who considers themself a writer.

I think one of the reasons for this writing flurry may be that I am currently supposed to be editing and… well, you know how it goes. After Re-Vamp last year and then several months spent honing the novel (which as yet has no firm publicatio...
