Barbara Burgess is a Canadian author from Montreal, Canada. A number of her novels are set in Quebec, Canada, while others are set in India, Wales, England, and Asia.

A member of the Quebec Writers’ Federation, she worked for the late Paul Almond (a Canadian filmmaker and writer) as copy editor of the Alford Saga and publicist for Almond, working in collaboration with his Canadian publishing house. She continues to work as a freelance editor and publicist for several Canadian authors. Burgess is an English and history teacher.

Burgess helped organize a tribute to Paul Almond held at the Westmount Public Library, at which she spoke along with Roch Carrier and a number of other Canadian authors and speakers. She has been interviewed for CBC rad
