Tara Chevrestt - New Releases, #Kindle #free, and #Giveaway!

Picture Please welcome Tara Chevrestt to the blog today!

I’m pleased to share with you my latest release, Love Request. This one is special to me because it’s not only the first romance I penned, but it features a “hearing-impaired” heroine, like myself.

I say “hearing –impaired” because really, there’s nothing wrong with Ciara. She’s not damaged or in need of repair. She just can’t hear as well as others.

As a reader, I grew tired of all the women in romance novels being perfect. In real life, many of us have disabilities—and they are disabilities others can’t see. And worse, they are disabilities others can’t understand, and a lot of times what people don’t understand becomes something they fear…and belittle.

This is where the bullying comes in. You see, this is more than just a romance novel. Open its pages, hit that Kindle “next page” button, and find out for yourself. Learn. Be enlightened. Relate.
Picture Want to sample it first? No problem. Available on Kindle and FREE for the next five days, is a humorous Valentine short story, Mating Instinct.

You’ll find the first chapter of Love Request at the end.

Blurb for Love Request

When Ciara Littleton finally joins Facebook to socialize without the limits her hearing impairment gives her, she looks up a childhood friend on a whim. In sending him that first message, she ignites the memories of a crush from twenty years ago. Can a simple friend request fix all that stands between them and maybe even lead to something more?

Hunter's plate is full. A recent divorce, a pregnant sister, and now, he realizes he's in love with a woman who lives states away. Can he overcome the boundaries of Internet romance to make this desire turn into something real, or will adversity and distance be their undoing?

This book was formerly titled A Facebook Affair and has been revised with a new ending.

Love Request has been named a LASR Best Book and is now up for vote on Best Book of 2012 Poll. You can cast a vote here. I’m so excited and so grateful!

Blurb for Mating Instinct:

This is exactly what you need!

It’s Valentine’s Day and when Ariel receives a package of incense in the mail from her Pagan friend and mentor, she isn’t sure what to make of the enclosed note. Sure, she has some issues, but who doesn’t?

When the smoke releases its magic, Ariel gets an evening of surprise humor and romance, and it is indeed exactly what she needs.

Master of the Inn by Ella Jade #eroticromance

Picture Pleasure Inn… Where all of your fantasies become reality.

Executive chef Elyse Clapton has had it with city life. She’s spent the last few years building her cheating boyfriend’s trendy New York City restaurant into a success. When their relationship ends, so does her desire to be in his kitchen. She flees to a quaint inn she remembers visiting as a child. She gets more than she bargains for when she meets the sexy, reclusive inn keeper.

Handyman Logan Cole inherited Pleasure Inn against his wishes. Ever since he got caught up in a scandal involving another man’s wife, he keeps to himself – finding solace in a bottle. He didn’t realize how lonely he’d become until Elyse shows up on his porch. He’s instantly drawn to her and convinces her to stay at the Bed and Breakfast.

Elyse comes to town looking for a getaway. She never expects to fall for Logan. It doesn’t take her long to believe the inn’s motto. Logan’s dominance in the bedroom makes all of her fantasies a reality. Excerpt A light came on in an upstairs window indicating someone was there. Elyse walked up the front steps and tried the handle, but it was locked. Just as she reached for the bell, the door flew open and a large, muscular figure appeared. The old screen door and the absence of lighting in the foyer concealed his face.
“Hi,” Elyse said. “I was driving by and wondered if you had any vacancies.”
“Here?”
“This is an inn, isn’t it?”
“It hasn’t been for over four years.” He turned on the porch light. “I thought everyone in this town knew that.”
His disheveled appearance made her think he wasn’t planning on entertaining visitors. His dark, thick hair looked as if he’d run his fingers through it causing it to stand on end. He hadn’t bothered to button his faded blue jeans or put on a shirt before coming downstairs. Elyse couldn’t help but notice how his well-defined abs disappeared into his waistband.
“I’m sorry.” She moved away from the entrance. “I’m intruding.”
“No.” He stepped out onto the porch in his bare feet. “I just didn’t expect anyone out here at this time of the night.”
“I drove from the city. I thought I might stay the night. I used to come here as a kid.” She looked past his shoulder into the foyer. She saw a fresh stack of wood in the corner and several cans of paint. “Are you renovating?”
“Trying to.” He nodded. “It’s a work in progress.”
She caught a wave of alcohol on his breath.
 “Are you just passing through?”
“I’m not sure. I just needed to get away and I remembered how perfect this place always was.”
“Yeah,” he looked over his shoulder. “Not so much anymore.”
“What happened?”
“My uncle owned the place, but he couldn’t keep up with the maintenance. He and my aunt retired and left it to me. It’s just been sitting vacant since then. It needed a ton of work. I didn’t realize how much until I actually started ripping things out.”
“How long have you been renovating?”
“A little over six months.”
“Well, thanks for your time. Maybe I’ll visit when you’re finished,” She smiled encouragement, but disappointment filled Elyse’s heart at the thought of not staying there. “Good luck with the renovations.”
When she turned to leave, he stopped her with a hand on her shoulder. “Wait.”
When she turned, his ice blue eyes held her gaze. The intensity there made her stomach flutter. It should have been a warning sign to run fast and far, but her body responded in other ways. The sensation he created from just one touch coursed through her system, landing straight between her legs.
Oh my…
“For the past few months I’ve been renovating the third floor. If I’m going to live here and run this place, I wanted my rooms to be done first before I started on the rest of the inn. There are two bedrooms up there; both have private bathrooms. You could stay if you want.”
“That’s very nice of you, but—”
“Your room has a lock.”
As if that would keep you out. You have the keys.
“I’m not ready to have guests yet, so I wouldn’t charge you.”
“I couldn’t, but thank you.”
“You drove all this way to Pleasure Inn. There isn’t another place for miles. Spend the night and then you can leave in the morning.”
She wasn’t familiar with the surrounding area and the drive had made her tired. What if she couldn’t find another place to spend the night?
“I don’t blame you for being cautious.” He shrugged. “You do what your gut tells you: but you’re more than welcome to stay here.”
She stared into his deep eyes for a few moments. She’d left the city to get away and forget about the disaster of a relationship with Phillip. She’d done nothing but work for years. She hadn’t been to a restaurant or on a vacation in months. She was too busy cooking for others. Would one night in a beautiful Victorian inn be so bad? How could it be, especially when the inn keeper looked like a goddamned Calvin Klein model?
“I’ll stay on one condition.”
“Sure.”
“You have to tell me your name.”
“Oh.” He ran his fingers through his hair and smiled for the first time since greeting her. “Forgive my manners. I’m Logan Cole.” He extended his hand to her.
“Nice to meet you, Logan,” She said properly as she shook his hand. “I’m Elyse Clapton.”
“Welcome to Pleasure Inn, Ms. Clapton.” He dipped his head as he held the door open for her. “Where all of your fantasies become reality.” Buy Links Amazon / Nook / All Romance

7 sentences from The Naked Truth #sexysnippets

Picture Picture

Josh set the envelope on the table next to him and closed the space between them. “It was five years ago that you and I were intimate. And in all this time, you’ve never gone to bed with another man?”

“You’re still on that?” Men.

His hand wrapped around her neck and he pulled her face to his. “Do you have any idea what it does to me to know I was the last one to touch you?”
Blurb It’s amazing what one can find in strip clubs…

Josh Carter gets the shock of a lifetime when he shows up at a place of ill repute for a business meeting and sees the one that got away gyrating on the stage. Abigail Reese—the girl with so much potential, the girl that took his heart along with his body one night long ago—what brought her to this level?

Though stripping is not what Abigail set out to do, it’s putting food on the table and a roof over her daughter’s head. But just how much can she reveal to Josh without risking it all?

When Josh causes Abigail to lose her job, she has two choices: come clean about her past and her situation or push him out of her life as quick as he came into it. It’s up to her…only she has to think of her little girl too.

What Lacey's Been Reading. #amreading

Picture Oops, I'm a day late! I had to clean like a mad woman yesterday for a party at my house last night. Anyway, my week was pretty good with reading. I'm normally a novella reader. So since I read a full and novella, I'm happy!

Up first, SIMPLY IRRESISTIBLE. I'm in a book talk group on facebook and this series has been the talk. So with this book on sale on amazon for 89cents and being the first one, I jumped at getting started.

I must admit, this one was slow starting. When I finished the book I appreciated the time the author took to set the story up, but in the beginning I was ready for the action to start. Georganne was a likeable heroine. I found her entertaining being a southerner myself. And John, he ended up winning points in my book, but he was a tough one at first to stomach. I definitely enjoyed the story a lot. And I will say, if you've read my novella THE NAKED TRUTH and loved it, there's a plot in this book that will be right up your ally! I'm hoping to start the next book in the series soon! Buy: Amazon / Nook Picture As I mentioned earlier, I love novellas. A few months ago one released from on of my publishers and I've had my eye on it. Beachwalk Press is having a 50% off sale right now. At check out use (Valentine2013).

This is the first story in a series and I'm definitely looking forward to the next one. We get a rich man who is attracted to a stripper, Mia. And she is attracted to him as well. He has a proposition for her that at first she thinks is insane, but before long she agrees and it's then the story heats up. One thing I liked about this story was that Lawrence and Mia didn't fight their attraction. It was nice from the usual banter of characters as they try to tell themselves they don't want the other. Mia and Lawrence gladly acted on their feelings.

I'm looking forward to the next one!

All About Hearbreakers  #HeartHop

Picture Hi and welcome to my blog! As you hop from blog to blog, you get to learn each of our thoughts on Heartbreakers.

I actually love stories where one of them breaks the others heart. Not necessarily during the story but from the past.

Take Drew from FOOL ME ONCE. He left my heroine in a hotel room after a wild night of sex and then when they reconnected, he had to work his tail off to get Skylar to forgive him.

And it was fun watching him squirm! Picture Not only is there a grand prize to this blog hop, but I am also giving away an ecopy of FOOL ME ONCE. Because I think Drew so far as been my biggest heartbreaker.

To enter the giveaway, all you have to do is leave a comment. Be sure to include your email. And if you would like, I would love if you followed me on FACEBOOK and TWITTER. Totally optional though. :)

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice…

Drew is the last person Skylar wanted to see across from her at a local bar. A month ago he'd wined and dined her all weekend, leaving her feeling fully in love, but then she awoke alone in an empty hotel room and she hadn't heard from him since.

The weekend Drew spent with Skylar was phenomenal. There had never been anyone who made him feel as complete as she did. He shouldn't have disappeared, he should have called, but his feelings for her scared him, so he distanced himself. But when he saw her again, he knew he couldn't stay away any longer.

Skylar's determined not to give Drew another chance to hurt her, but he's just as determined to win her back. Although it won't be easy, he's up to the challenge, and he's willing to do whatever it takes to accomplish his goal.

Content Warning: Explicit Sex

And the grand prize! Picture *Please note: Be sure to leave a comment with your email address in the comment itself so Carrie can see the winner.*

We have THREE grand prizes. You as a reader can go to EACH blog and comment with your email address and be entered to win. Yep, you can enter over 200 times!

Now what are those prizes?

Life in Suitcases by Melissa Kendall #romance

Picture
After a tragedy changes the course of Elise Morgan’s life leaving her without a family and in foster care, she meets Anthony Scott. It doesn’t take long for them to become fast friends and they do everything together. When Elise manages to get a scholarship to college and Anthony doesn’t. They find themselves separated. As the years pass, they lose touch.

Feeling restless with her life, Elise sets about trying to find what is missing in her life. After breaking up with her boyfriend she takes a trip home hoping to find a sense of peace. One hug reveals that what Elise thought she was missing wasn’t a place or a thing it was a person.

Can she find true love with the one man she thought she might never see again?

Excerpt At thirteen, I was too old for most people to consider adopting. No matter how hard Mary looked, she couldn’t find me a foster home. I went from having everything to having nothing. My parents weren’t well off. They were just your average middle-income family with a mortgage. Once the house was sold and all the debts were paid, I wasn’t left with much. There was just enough money to buy a second-hand car when I was old enough and two suitcases full of personal possessions, including a few photo albums. That was all my thirteen years of life added up to: two suitcases.

My first few weeks at Abbott’s were probably the worst of my life. I spent my days  just going through the motions at school. At night, I would cry in bed until sleep finally claimed me. After about three weeks of feeling as if I was drowning in a never-ending pit of despair, I met Anthony. I felt the bed dip behind me one night as I was lying on my side and sobbing particularly hard. I was so upset I didn’t immediately register that it meant someone was lying with me. Then I felt an arm wrap around me and heard a soothing voice in my ear telling me everything was going to be okay.

When I woke up the following morning, I rolled over to see just who had climbed into bed with me. A skinny boy with short brown hair grinned at me.

“Anthony Scott.” He held his hand out.

“Elise Morgan,” I replied. “Thanks for last night.”

“Ain’t nothing.”

We talked for a little while longer, getting to know one another. Anthony was the same age as me, but had been at Abbott’s since he was six. His parents were drug addicts, which caused his removal from their care. After telling him how sorry I was that had happened, I explained my story. It was still so hard to talk about, but I got through it and only cried a little bit.
After that day, Anthony and I were inseparable. We were the best of friends. We did everything together. When I tried ballet, he did too, no matter how much teasing he got from the other boys. When he took up guitar, so did I, even though I sucked at it. Barely a day went by that we didn’t see or speak to each other at least a hundred times. I doubt I would have survived my teenage years if it weren’t for my best friend.
Though the days were fairly easy to survive, the nights were always tough. Curled up in bed alone, the reality would hit the hardest. Memories of families lost and dreams of what could have been plagued each of our thoughts. We spent many a night in each other’s beds providing comfort. Those were always the nights I slept best.

For five years, it was Anthony and me against the world.

All that changed senior year. Anthony and I had both been working toward Cornell. We were in all the same AP classes and had the same GPA. We both applied for scholarships, knowing that was the only way we’d ever get to go to college. When I got a scholarship and he didn’t, reality came crashing down around us. I told him I wasn’t going without him, that it had been our dream. Anthony, always the strong one, told me I needed to go follow my dreams, that I deserved to go to Cornell, and he wasn’t going to let me waste my one chance to get the hell out of San Francisco.

After graduation, we agreed to have one last hoorah over the summer before heading off on our separate paths. We had the best time. We found a little apartment in the city. It was really only big enough for one person, but since it would just be Anthony’s apartment come fall, I didn’t mind it being a bit cramped.

We did everything we ever wanted to do together that summer. We visited museums and art galleries, rode the cable cars, and spent hours upon hours running around Fisherman’s Wharf. We even went to the beach and the zoo.

All the while, our separation loomed. It was constantly present in our thoughts, as if we knew it was going to be our last summer together. We were heading in two different directions come September and might never see one another again.

On a sunny day in the middle of August, I packed my two suitcases and a duffle bag into the back of the beat-up truck I purchased with the money left from Mom and Dad’s estate.

There, in front of Anthony’s apartment building, I said good-bye to my best friend and the closest thing I had to family. Hugging him tightly, I resisted as best I could the tears threatening to fall.
We said I love you and promised to stay in touch and visit when we could. With a kiss on the cheek and yet another hug, he told me to go spread my wings and become the beautiful butterfly he had always known me to be. Buy Links Amazon /Barnes&Noble

Tips on making your Facebook links stand out. #wwow

Picture One of the great things about Facebook is the ease of sharing things. You can share your books, excerpt, blurbs, links, and so on. As you scroll through your newsfeed, what do you see mainly? Status's, links, and pictures. Now stop and think about which one catches your eye. If you answered picture, pat yourself on the back. No, there isn't a prize, just me liking where your mind is going.

The pictures on facebook are what I always stop and look at as I scroll through. There are the funny ecards, photos of cats, kids, and book covers.

While we hear the saying, don't judge a book by it's cover, come on, let's be honest. We do. So are you using your cover to full potential? Sure, when you post a links form amazon, it pulls up a small snap shot of your cover. Someone can click share and it shares the link. I recommend sharing the photo (upload it) of your cover so when someone clicks share, it brings the text your wrote to go with the photo as well.

Example:
Above the photo you wrote: My new release is now on amazon! (insert link) Then add photo of book cover, which gets rid of the link preview.
When someone shares this, it now shows your cover in their news feed along with the link and what you wrote.
And I guarantee that gorgeous book cover is going to catch someones attention a whole lot quicker than just a link with a thumbnail.

Also, before you share your photo with a link to take the reader somewhere, make it a little more interesting than "My new release". Quote a review or an excerpt.
Example: "If I’m looking for a feel good contemporary romance I know I can always count on Lacey Wolfe." add link and book cover photo.

You don't have to put a quote there. Put an excerpt or the blurb. Think of what is going to make you stand out from everyone else on the readers news feed. After all, you want them to choose your book, right? Let's face it, new books are publishing everyday. We have to find a way to be noticed. So taking a few extra steps will leave you in that direction.

Thanks for coming by! Share your tips to standing out on social media. Interview with Ashlynn Monroe and her new release Given. #eroticromance

Picture I have the totally rockin' Ashlynn Monroe on the blog today. And if you haven't read her latest release Given, you're missing out! Check out my thoughts here.

1. Tell us a little about yourself.
Ashlynn Monroe has been dreaming up stories all her life.  She started to put them on paper at thirteen, but it wasn’t until she was thirty that she decided to share them with others.  She’s a busy mom with a full time job, fantastic friends, and a unique sense of humor.  She’s just a regular girl who’s in love with the idea of happily-ever-after.  She’s honored to be multi-published by some of the best electronic publishers in the industry.  Ashlynn survives each day by dreaming up her next tale of romance. She loves her readers and can’t thank them enough for the wonderful support they give her.

2. What genre do you write?
It might be faster to ask me what I don’t write!  I write contemporary, sci-fi, paranormal, urban fantasy, and steampunk fiction with romance and erotic romance woven into the stories.

3. Please tell us about your latest release Given and how you came up with the idea?
I played around with this idea in my head for over a year.  I wanted to write a story about a woman who belonged to six men, but who wanted to find her own destiny.  When I came up with the plot that I wrote my muse was very happy.  I hope readers will enjoy Given as much as I enjoyed writing it.

4. Is it part of a series?
No, but I may revisit this world with new characters if readers enjoy the story.

5. A must have snack while you write.
Bailey’s Irish Cream in hot chocolate…yes I consider that a snack because I add marshmallows…gooey and delicious booze!

6. A fact that someone might not know about you.
I’m terrified of heights.  I get dizzy on step stools and I can’t even look out of windows in a tall building without feeling queasy!

7. If you had to choose a favorite book that you’ve written, which would it be?
It would be a three-way tie between Given, Star Prince, and Reality Hero.  Star Prince is available from Changeling Press and it’s the first book in my Aurora series.  Reality Hero is a rerelease that’s been totally rewritten and will be out this summer from Beachwalk Press.

8. Advice to writers who have yet to be published.
Write every day, even if you never use it.  The practice at stretching your imagination will make your muse lean and limber.

9. Is there a genre you haven’t written yet that you want to?
I’d love to write a purely historical romance.

10. Any quirky habits?
Is checking Facebook incessantly quirky?  I don’t know, I think I’m just quirky all around.

11. Have you written a character that most resembles you?
Dina from Reality Hero is the heroine I most identify with.  Tasmin from Star prince is a bit like me too because she’s stubborn.

12. What type of hero do you enjoy writing about?
Muscular man with a protective possessive streak would describe a fair number of my heroes.

13. What are you currently reading?
I’m not trying to score points, but I just finished Fool Me Once by Lacey Wolfe today and tomorrow I’m starting on More Than Useful…I’m not kidding. FYI expect to see a glowing review!  I loved the way Drew broke down Skylar’s defenses!

*Awe, thank you! I love all the dreamy heros in the Hot Bods series. Wait until you meet Ben in Accidental Love. Prepare to swoon!*

14. What are you currently working on?
I have about thirty WIPs started, but the two I’m working on seriously are Zombies Don’t Make Good Pets, and erotic story about a sexy town vet and a National Guard hunk fighting zombies and making whoopee!  I’m also working on a hot superhero novella where the hero makes a very un-heroic proposition to the damsel he just saved from Doctor Death.  I love this story!

15. Anything that you’d like to share.
I’m so excited for readers to download Given.  I hope they love reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it.  Here’s the blurb.
About The Book In a world without choices, one woman will find herself caught in the middle of six men and the emotions they develop for her.

Krista Damiani is one of the last women on Earth, and her patriotic duty is to make babies. On her twenty-first birthday, the government holds a lottery drawing to determine the men who will control her destiny. Her “six”, the men who win the right to call her their own, know they have to impregnate her quickly or risk losing her to a new “six”.

As society fills with additional violence and unrest, her men keep her sheltered in a fortress of maximum security. When a mysterious man arrives and offers her the chance for freedom, will she be willing to leave the life she knows behind or will she remain “given”?

Content Warning: contains voyeurism, multiple partners, ménage and anal sex

New Contract!

Picture I sat down and penned my first full-length in 2012. Its a sweet romance with closed door intimate scenes. Defintely not the current most popular romance genre, but it's what felt right for this story.
It got rejected...a few times. :/ I made sure to target publishers that carried sweet romance. And finally, a publisher I had my eye on for quite some time but wasn't sure at first my book was right for them, well they offered a contract!
My sweet romance Bidding Wars has a home with Etopia Press! And I couldn't be more excited! Which is good, I've been working on the follow-up book currently titled, Doctor's Orders. That's right, a new series from me. The Hot Bods series ends this month when Opposites Attract releases and my new series Love Strikes begins soon!
Stay tuned for updates!

What Lacey's Been Reading ... #amreading

Picture I'm not only an author, but a reader as well. On Friday's I'm going to share with you the books I've been reading!

Up first, Love Request by Tara Chevrestt. This is one of those books that hooks you emotionally. Yes, there is a love story in it, and you want to see Ciara find her happy ending, but you also get to see her grow.

The author give us little flashbacks to Ciara's life as a child. She is a deaf child and we learn the struggles these kids have. As well as the struggles that Ciara has in her adult life. It's east to forget sometimes that not everyone is alike and this story will open your eyes to it.

Oh and don't worry, there is a sexy hero of the story who will steal your heart. Even when Ciara knows him as a child,  You'll love Hunter. He's got a kind spirit.

Buy: Amazon / Nook  Picture This week I also read Given by Ashlynn Monroe. Yeah, that cover alone speaks to you. But my favorite part about this book is it wasn't what I was expecting. When first looking at the cover this of, you expect one of those books with the F and all the letters M's listed after it. No, this isn't that. Though, there is a scene or two where they all have a little fun, but for the most part, its Krista and one man heating up the sheets as they attempt to bring a child into the world so man kind will live on.

And of course, the men are all different, but one Krista has a special bond with. And I can't give too much away. But the ending was unexpected. Up until the second to last chapter when I saw the book was ending, I couldn't help but wonder what the author had up her sleeve.

This book will also make you happy for the time you live in and not a time where women are "given" to men for procreation. This is one you'll want to check out.
