Sure, some of the things you write are going to suck and suck hard. But no one starts out the best at what they do. It takes practice, years of honing your skills. And even the seasoned pros who have been writing for decades continue to get better with each story they write. So don't worry about being bad. That's just part of it. The key is learning from your mistakes and constantly moving forward. (less)

The Man of Her Dreams

Way back in 2013, I released a novel under a pseudonym. Today, that novel is being released under my real name. So if you’re interested, hop on over and check it out here. I hear good things about it.

Trapped in a loveless and often abusive marriage, Heather Miller longs for a new life, a life in which she can finally be happy. She yearns to find the strength to leave her husband, for the coura Read more of this blog post »

Great read.
More of Kimberly A.'s books…
“If you left out the sadistic serial killer part of him, he was a great guy. He was clean and orderly. He was kind. He catered to the woman he loved. He was a great cook. He had high hopes for his career. He didn’t plop down in front of the television for hours at a time. He enjoyed playing games and great conversation. His sexual stamina was impressive. And he was a handsome man. It’s just that pesky habit of his where he raped, tortured, killed, and dismembered women that was a turn off.”
Kimberly A. Bettes, Held

“Through their grief, they must smile. Through their tears, they must laugh. Because comedy was the other side of tragedy.”

“Women had sexy orgasm faces. Men did not.”

Hey, Sonia! I totally understand. I would recommend one of 3 books:

Held, which is my best seller and in my opinion my best book to date. It's about a young wife and new mother who is abducted from a mall parking lot by a serial killer and held in his basement for months, forced to watch as he murders a string of women. Or

Twisted, which is a book of short stories. There's a wide variety of stories in this one, and each would be a quick read for whenever you can grab a few minutes. Or

Shiners, a novella about 2 lifelong friends and moonshiners on the last night of the season and what happens to them when greed rears its ugly head. There are some historical aspects as the men in the story stumble upon the lost Confederate gold. So maybe you'd prefer to read that one.

Whichever one you choose, I certainly hope you like it. And good luck on the move and remodel. I saw the pictures of your house and it is adorable! I really love the trim and the pocket doors. My master bedroom has double doors and I've always wished they were pocket doors.
:-)

Sonia Hey Kim,
I still have not read one of your books yet...apologies for that. Here's the problem: I'm not a huge fan of horror stories, in fact I normally avoid them like the plague (Stephen King is the exception to that rule) and I really want to love your writing. So can you suggest either your very best or maybe something with a contemporary or historical feel?
That being said please remember I am in the midst of a move/home remodel and many other things so actually reading it could take a while.
