The Crystal Healer Interviews: Andra-Carmina

Today I’d like to introduce you to my sweet Andy, a soon-to-graduate CCH! As soon as she started interacting with all of us in the Crystal Cave…I fell in love with her. Her sparkly attitude & enthusiasm go tme immediately. Read on & you’ll see what I mean! Here’s Andy!:

What brought you to the world of crystal healing?

The world of crystal healing opened up to me through a YouTube video of Hibiscus Moon’s that I stumbled upon. That was a few years back. Dozens of watched videos later, I began frequenting her site. Soon thereafter, I took one of her Basics classes, and was forever hooked! My interest really soared, as did the opportunity for the door into this world to fully open to me when I won Hibiscus Moon’s CCH Scholarship through my video entry. That really propelled me to speak my heart about a path I was meant to be on all along. Here is my winning sparkly video that made it all happen!:

What made you decide to become a Certified Crystal Healer?

I truly believe my soul wanted this so much, so much so that it manifested this wonderful opportunity in sight. Bhahaha -I bawled my eyes out for hours when I found out I was one of the two winners Hibiscus Moon announced – it all felt so right! Truly, I feel that becoming a CCH was something my heart and soul had longed for so long, it transpired and expressed right through the video, from my inner being to Hibiscus Moon and the world. One of her questions for the video was “In ONE word, describe what being a CCH would mean to you?” and my answer was “Belonging”. To this day, I never felt more alive and belonging in my purpose and path than I do now. The breadth and depth of this experience transformed me. It wasn’t so much that “I” decided to become a CCH, but rather, that “it” was decided. Sometimes the higher powers have a funny, funny way of making things happen, and guiding us towards where we are meant to go.

What was one of your favorite parts about the CCH process?

My favorite part about the process WAS the process Everything was organized in a very step-by-step, simple yet practical manner. We had access to a wealth of information, links, videos, private videos, and layouts! Not to mention the inner support group, which has been an absolutely indispensable tool for all of us to share our experiences, and grow together along the way!

Everything has been our fingertips from day 1. Each class built on from the foundations of the previous one, and with each class our knowledge and understanding deepened through the added layers of crystal beauty and scientific explanations. The scientific aspect of the course definitely earned its reputation with integrity and factual information, all science based from domains of biology, physics, geology, and more. The entire unfolding of the process, the many Aha! moments, and the dedication and devotion with which the entire program was put together are all things I can vouch for, and remain my favorite part even as I write this.

What are some of your favorite crystals and why?

I don’t have “favorites” in the crystal world, but I absolutely LOVE & ADORE working with crystal grids.

The Universal beauty you immerse yourself in when you work with crystal grids, for me, is absolutely sacred. I can’t quite conceive of something more powerful as a symbol of balance, manifestation and creation in our lives.

Crystals come from the Earth, and in that respect, are just like us, in the very composition we share physically and chemically (think mineral kingdom!). We are all made of “similar stuffs”, and we all come from Earth. The very energetic vibrations of the crystals can thus entrain with our vibrations so naturally and beautifully.

The grids themselves are arranged within sacred geometric patterns, which have scientifically been proven to be the language of creation that the Universe works through! This is my very favorite part about crystals for me. That by working with them, and through the grid arrangements, they become conduits through which we can manifest, while being connected both to Mother Earth, and the Divine. How AMAZING is that?!

What do others think about the path you’re on?

Well, I’m not too concerned with that

What matters to me most is what *I* think of the path I’m on.

There is nothing that feels more right to me, and that feels more beautiful to me than belonging here, now, and for those that have spoken their minds to me, they have said that the path can only be divinely beautiful and rewarding, when a radiant and pure soul walks it with love. And so it is!

What advice do you have for anyone considering this path?

Listen! Listen to the wonderful inner guide inside you! And then go for it with all you’ve got, if you feel with your entire being that it is a calling of yours!

Walk the path, soak everything in and then more, and experience every step and hurdle in the path with wonder! Learn, evolve, grow, and never look back! How can you know that there can come such beautiful personal transformation, if you don’t risk finding out for yourself?

What are your big dreams, now that you’ve graduated?

I’m a dreamer at heart, and it seems my dreams are only getting bigger and better!

I aim to open up my own practice, and combine my psychology background with crystal healing and additional healing modalities to be of service to others. I truly feel that it is my divine purpose here in this lifetime. THAT is what I aim to create, manifest, and share with others, with heartfelt integrity, love beyond words to express, and divine calling and guidance like I have never felt before in my life!

Its the GIVING Season….still.

Its still officially “the holidays” for just a bit & I have a little something I want to write about just before its over.

Although I donate to many charities close to my heart throughout the year, I feel it’s so important to remember what the holidays are truly about; giving — giving to others, to causes, to those in need. It’s about being grateful for all we have & then finding what we can give to others.

AND…if you give before midnight on Dec. 31 you can take it as a tax deduction!…just in case that sort of left-brained practical stuffs motivates you.

…our Christmas tree is still up & will remain up until at least Jan. 11 so I declare we’re still officially in the “holidays” until then. I’m trying to show you my clear quartz crystal ornaments here…can you see?

The act of “giving” is not just about helping someone else;  it’s about kindness, plus it’s good for your spirit & soul.  There have been scientific studies done which discovered  that just the thought of being charitable activates a part of the brain associated with pleasure! And you know we’re all about the science ’round here…so thumbs up to that!

Remember, when we’re charitable, abundance of ALL KINDS is attracted to us like a magnet! There’s a clear correlation between being charitable + becoming even MORE prosperous when we LOVINGLY give. Its not the only reason to do it, but it is a GOOD reason.

I know not everyone is in a position to give monetarily but you can also give of your time by volunteering or by sharing information with others, (to Facebook, twitter, email, etc.)  helping to create awareness. Perhaps, even donating items that may be needed by the specific charity.

If you’re subbed to my weekly newsletter, you know I have a special spot there where I feature 1 of my favorite charities just to get them some exposure, sharing & hey…a little donation is great too. The charities I choose to give to may not be as well known as some of the big giants, but they do such great work — & have good reputations too. I’ve personally chosen them over the years & have added to my list b/c they were recommended by someone I trust — in some cases, from someone who is a volunteer who works directly with the organization or I’ve worked with them.  Of course, you should do your research before sending money to any charity. 

So, today I’d like to introduce you to my current fav. charities. Is there 1 that might tickle your fancy?:

Kiva – Would you like to join my the Hibiscus Moon Crystal Hotties Kiva Team? Kiva is a different kind of charity, lending to alleviate poverty. You can lend $25, loan it to a family, they pay it back & you can now donate that same $25 to another family. That same $25 can go on & on to help + empower + creating opportunities for soooo many people all over the world!! I love this idea.
National Wildlife Federation – I love supporting their efforts b/c they inspire us all to protect our wildlife for the future of other generations. You can donate any amount here(they give nice donation gifts too). And if you have kids, please consider “adopting” an animal….so FUN!
Cats Exclusive – This is a very small no-kill non-profit, 501(c)3 organization, dedicated to helping our community – both people & felines alike. They’ve helped over 6000 cats get adopted & over 10,000 get spayed & neutered. You can make a donation of ANY AMOUNT (even $1) here. They also have a wish list of items you can easily send them from Amazon here.
Abandoned Dogs of the Everglades – This is a very small no-kill group of volunteers helping with the problem of dogs being abandoned in the Everglades of South Florida who desperately need our help. You can make a donation of ANY AMOUNT (even $1) from their FB page. If you cannot afford a donation, please LIKE their Facebook page & share with a friend.
Sea Turtle Restoration Project – The sea turtle is my totem animal…very near + dear to me. This organization works so hard to protect these endangered creatures & to educate the public. Women in Distress of Broward County- their mission is to stop domestic violence abuse for everyone (not just women any longer) through intervention, education + advocacy. They offer a 24-Hour Crisis Hotline & emergency shelter, as well as counseling + support for victims + their children.
Raise Hope for Congo – I am very passionate about educating people about Conflict Minerals & donating to Raise Hope for Congo. They advocate for the human rights of all Congolese citizens while working towards ending the ongoing conflict in eastern Congo.There are soooo many ways to help!

The Crystal Healer Interviews: Mary Anne

Today we have another in our series of Crystal Healer Interviews with Mary Anne Nolan, CCH; one of our Hibiscus Moon Certified Crystal Healers. What a gorgeous sweet soul she is. I Am so proud to call her 1 of our own.  She is so inspirational & I know you’ll just fall in love with her too!! Take it away, Mary Anne:

So, what brought you to the world of crystal healing?

My journey to the world of crystal healing was in some ways a long road.  About ten years ago, I was very sick to the point that I should have died twice.  Modern medicine can’t explain why I’m even alive.  When faced with circumstances like that, it really changes you, and I felt so strongly that I had to make my life count and be of service in this world. 

Consequently, I tried a lot of paths that seemed right and logical on paper based on my education, but no matter how hard I tried, they didn’t work out.  It wasn’t until I discovered the world of energy healing that everything started to unfold almost effortlessly.

I started learning about the energy body, which then led to Reiki.  I then discovered the world of crystal healing through my Reiki Master who is also a Crystal Reiki Master.

Crystal healing was something that I knew nothing about, but I suddenly became addicted.  I had no idea about the why or how crystals worked in healing; I simply knew that they did.  That was when I began looking for books, new crystals, and anything to do with crystals that I could get my hands on.

In my search for knowledge, I continued studying with my Reiki Master, but one day, I came across the Hibiscus Moon Crystal Academy.  It came across my path at the absolute perfect time.  I soon learned that Stephanie had left her job to pursue this path full time at the exact time that I had left my job, and I saw a video on her YouTube channel where she used crystals to help with a bruise.  She mentioned that she had a condition were she bled easily, and would you believe that I have a blood condition as well?

So, I took both of these indications as a sign from the Universe that I had found another perfect teacher for me, and I enrolled.

I love that I now have the knowledge to explain to my clients and others that crystal healing is really science in action, and that it isn’t based in airy fairy, esoteric understandings that don’t get much validation in our left-brain, logical world.

What do others in your life think about the path you are on?

The people closest to me have been more than supportive.  I have had plenty of volunteers to let me practice all of my training and skills!

I left my job this summer to pursue my healing practice full time, and when I have moments of ‘I can’t believe this is happening and that I’m doing this’, they always remind me that I have found my life’s purpose.

What crystal has the biggest effect on you?

Well, my favorite crystal is rose quartz. I have them all over my home because I just love love.   

It’s like my warm and fuzzy stone. And I love amethyst, which I have all over my work-space, along with selenite.  But the crystal that has the biggest effect on me would have to be my Spirit Quartz, especially at this point in my life.  It’s all about connecting with your Higher Self and moving past fear, which is something that I have needed help with over the last few months.

Sometimes at night, before bed, if I’m feeling anxious or nervous about all of the changes in my life, I will hold my Spirit Quartz in one hand and a big chuck of Rose Quartz in the other.  I can feel myself settle down right away, and when I wake up in the morning, I always feel much more like myself.

What is your go-to crystal for grounding?

Hematite.  Lately, I have been carrying a piece of that with me everyday.  I was finding that I was waking up in the morning not feeling grounded and even a little scattered, which isn’t me (it’s that Type A Earth sign thing!). 

Doing grounding meditations and carrying my Hematite has helped tremendously.  And balancing that root chakra has been an issue for me, but the hematite definitely helps.

What is the primary way you utilize crystals in your practice?

Now that I have graduated, crystals will really be the focal point of my practice.  I love Reiki and know firsthand the power that it has to help us, but combining that with crystal healing just makes sense to me.  Everything that I have learned here adds so much more to my practice in sensing energy at the chakras and helping clients understand how crystal healing can enhance their well being.

What are your BIG DREAMS now that you are getting ready to graduate?

My big dreams begin with growing my practice.  I’m so excited to be able to be doing this work and to have the ability to do it full time.  I wake up so grateful that after all that searching for the right path, this is what I’m called to do.

I also want to teach others about energy healing, doing little workshops in my area to help people improve their daily lives.

But my ultimate dream is to someday write a book.  No matter what path I was on, that was always something that I wanted to do.

Do you have any advice for anyone who is considering this path?

Follow your heart and be true to yourself.

One of the great things about the Hibiscus Moon Crystal Academy is the connection with other healers who are all so different.  I always used to feel like I didn’t fit the “mold” of a healer.  But one of the most valuable lessons that I learned with this experience is that there is no one way to be or look or sound.  Other people have their own way.  You need to be you, I need to me.  And that’s ok.  It’s how it should be.  So be yourself.  You are called to this field because you have something to offer that only you can bring, no one else.

Embrace your uniqueness and offer it as what sets you apart from the rest.

How Good 2012 Was To Me

How Was 2012?

Yes, I’d say 2012 was pretty darned good to me! Major shifting happened. The most notable shift was that I left my full time position as a science department chair to take my sacred crystal biz full time! The next major shift was that the Hibiscus Moon Crystal Academy grew by leaps & bounds with people getting certified as Hibiscus Moon Crystal Healers all over the world!

Did I leave that all to fate & what was in the cards for me? HELL TO THE NO!

I realized that creating a sacred biz like this 1 would require some out of the box thinking, some discipline & ambition (I’m a Capricorn so I’ve got plenty o’ that!), some risk & top that off with BIG POWERFUL DREAMING! Then I got really clear on what my goals were last Winter Solstice during my crystal meditation time. Then I planned my heart out, surrounded myself with super knowledgeable & helpful people, then got to manifestation with all the crystal mojo know-how that I have with crystal grids, mojo bags, meditations, gem elixirs…did it all! Oh yes~! Here’s the all important key:

Bringing in the powerful metaphysical mojo gave this whole game plan just the right amount of ooomph! It gave me the energy & willpower I needed to roll up my sleeves & do the work along with that special something that made it all come true. Working the crystal mojo along side my disciplined hard work was the key to taking all the effort a few octaves higher & having it go GANGBUSTERS!!

Yeah. Some think that doing a crystal grid is enough. Build it, sit back, relax & they will come. I feel that you need to put your energy & effort into it too, making simple shifts, baby steps or GIANT LEAPS, each & every day towards your dream. That’s just as important as the spiritual work. So start taking the necessary steps to move towards your goal & you’ll start seeing amazing things happening, circumstances easily falling into place, the right people will begin to appear…it all comes together, Jelly Bean.

I also remember to be ever so grateful for all this everyday. Gratitude is a big part of it.

And I’m very grateful for what is yet to come! Wooooohoooo! Bring it!

Metaphysical Support

In addition, the spiritual metaphysical stuffs have not only given my dreams the boost they needed but they helped to support me…and continue to do so. Yeah,  all this manifesting is hard work & it takes a lot out of you (for every action there is an equal but opposite reaction…thank you Sir Newton!) I need to constantly remember to give myself spiritual support & nourishment. In fact, I feel myself slipping a bit on this as of late. My plan is to get more grounding time in with both crystals & meditation & the great outdoors.

So, yeah….all of this WORKED! BIG TIME. And I LOVE what I do. I live my bliss daily as a Crystal Healing teacher.

Whine & cheese & not a thing about crystals

Today, I figured I’d blog about what I’ve been up to business-wise…off the crystal-beaten path for a bit.

In some recent videos on my Crystal Channel, I mentioned that I wanted to do more professional looking videos, needed to soup up my camera & make better quality crystal videos, being that crystals are such a visual thing. I really felt I wasn’t doing them justice.

So that entails better lighting & a really good camera…using a tripod to get away from all the shaky, jerky movements. I also needed better sound quality so microphones were on the list too. I figured I’d get a few different options, try them out & then return what I wouldn’t be using.

Here’s my latest video explaining how that went…with bloopers @ the end.

It takes a lot more than some fancy-schmancy techy junk to scare me away! It might be scary, but I will face it. 

I will be persistent. I just need to find the right set up for me. Right now, I’m trying out video taping directly from my iphone5 with the lapel microphone & a tripod. I do still need to find a good, yet smaller lighting solution. I’ll keep you all posted & let you know how it goes! And if you have any tips for me…I’m all ears.
