The Yellow Rope ch 8
"Huh, maybe you're onto something if you can't even tell where we're at," Gage smirked. "We're nearly there."
"Hard to see when my eyes are rolled up in the back of my head," Luke muttered."Be nice, or I'll wait until morning to make you come," Gage said as he pulled onto their street. "Anything looking familiar?""All I care to see is the back of that couch." Luke grunted when Gage flicked the top of his cockhead. "You evil man.""One couch coming up," Gage said as he pulled in his parking spot. * * * * Gage unbuckled Luke. He knew Luke was close to coming. A few strokes would send him screaming over the edge, and he wasn't ready for that to happen. Oh no, not quite yet; he swatted Luke's hands away from his dick."Hands off that, Luke.""All I was going to do was button up." "Which involves touching, which you better not do." Gage hurried around the vehicle. Opening the passenger door, he waited for Luke to catch on to what he wanted."Then how am I supposed to… Oh no, oh hell no. I am not walking to the house with my dick flopping around in the open for all the neighbors to see. Gage, come on!"Gage leaned into the vehicle until he and Luke were nearly face to face. "That dick is still pointing up to your chin, so out you go, lover.""But…""If you were really horrified by this, you'd be getting soft. And you're not. Babe, you've got an exhibitionist streak a fucking mile wide… so, come out of there. Don't make me tell you again.""Jesus." Luke struggled out of the vehicle. He took one step and found his arms being pulled behind him. "What-what are you doing?""Just walk." "Dammit Gage, my jeans are sliding off my ass.""They're gonna come off anyway. Question is whether they end up coming off out here, or in the house. The sooner you get to stepping…" Gage patted Luke's ass. "But hey, I can bend you over the hood. Works for me.""Oh my God!" Gage kept his grin hidden as Luke, hands still held behind him, all but dragged Gage to the door. Of course he wouldn't fuck Luke there out in the open. If they got caught it could cost Luke his job. Now, if they had a garage…"Gage, please."Gage's attention snapped back the warm, quivering body in front of him. The smell of Luke's cologne mixed with the heat from his body. He crowded closer, and rubbed his hard jeans-encased dick into Luke's ass. A low moan tore out of Luke's throat as he pressed back, his hands fondling the bulge rubbing against him. Gage reached around and stroked the hard piece of meat that begged for his touch, pulling another low moan from Luke. Head thrown back, he rubbed frantically against Gage. He was the very picture of decadent lust. "Need you," Luke whispered.Gage fumbled the door open and pushed Luke toward the den, still holding Luke's hands tight. Slamming the door closed behind him, he leaned Luke over the back of the couch. Placing Luke's hands at the small of his back, he patted them, a clear warning to leave them in place. With a hard tug, he jerked Luke's pants down to his ankles."Step out," Gage growled.Luke toed his shoes off, his breath sawing in and out of his lungs. His dick was leaking everywhere. "Fuck me, Gage. I can't wait."Gage didn't answer, just jerked Luke's underwear down and watched as his lover kicked them off and spread his legs. He pushed Luke's shirt up his body and over his head. For a moment he stared at the sight laid out before him. That ass of Luke's could drive a man insane. He gripped one cheek and Luke thrust back into his hand. "Gage," Luke whined. "Fuck me!"He quickly unsnapped his jeans, and kicked his shoes off. Dropping his jeans, he yanked his shirt off, nearly tearing the thing. Oh, he planned to fuck him. Noticing that Luke was thrusting his dick against the back of the couch, he grinned. The last several hours of teasing had Luke at his wits' end. Gage's hand slapped down. The crack of flesh meeting flesh was drowned out by Luke's loud moan."Behave.""Please, Gage, please… need you in me." Luke clutched his hands together behind his back, struggling to do what Gage said. "Pound my ass, ram that big-ass dick up me and fuck me hard! Then shoot that load, fill me up with your come. I want to feel it tomorrow." Gage's hand landed on Luke's ass several more times in a row, earning him more desperate moans and cries. "Yeah, oh God, yeah… spank my ass. Oh fuck, harder Gage."Oh yes, Luke would pay for that later tonight… if Gage did what he wanted. Admiring the lovely view of reddened skin, he smoothed his hand over Luke's ass. Luke grunted, swearing nonstop now. "Do not move, Luke." Gage stepped back."Oh no, Gage no, please. Please! Fuck me, please don't take the time to tie me up…" Luke's voice quivered. "I hurt."The yellow rope would have to wait until another time. Luke couldn't wait any longer. The pitch told Gage all he needed to know. Luke had reached his limit."Let me get the lube, babe," Gage said, his tone different. "I won't be a second."Please, just do it. Just fuck me. I want it hard, want it to hurt.""Shhh, just hold on. I'll give you want you need." Luke hurried to the bedroom and grabbed the lube. He'd give Luke what he needed, but not necessarily what he wanted. He had no intention of damaging Luke's ass.He rushed back, pleased to see Luke hadn't moved. He squirted a little of the lube straight into Luke's hole and then onto his fingers. He didn't have time to slowly stretch Luke out. One finger worked its way into Luke's ass, followed quickly by two then three. He'd give Luke a little pain but not enough to seriously harm him. Luke babbled continuously; all he wanted was relief.Grasping Luke's hips, Gage rubbed the tip of his dick against Luke's hole. Keeping a steady grip on those madly thrusting hips, he eased in, giving Luke time to adjust."Please, please, please…"No matter how hard Luke begged, he wouldn't hurt him more than what he could take. Once he felt Luke's channel loosen around his throbbing dick, he shoved all the way inside. Luke screamed even as he pushed back and Gage let him have it. Sinking his fingers into Luke's hips he pounded Luke's ass, thrust in and out violently. "Oh… oh, God, ah, fuck yeah," Luke arched his back then screamed again as the new position had Gage hitting his hotspot with every thrust. "Harder! Gage, oh shit, I'm gonna come!""Yeah, shoot for me," Gage gasped as he drove Luke harder, drawing close himself. "Come!"Luke's yell echoed around the room as he unloaded against the back of the couch, his ass tightening up and triggering Gage's orgasm. With a hoarse shout Gage filled him up. Both men collapsed over the back of the couch, panting hard and sweaty."Shit," Luke mumbled, winded. "I'm dead.""Are you saying I fucked you to death?" Luke snorted. "Possibly. God, let's just sleep here in the den.""The couch isn't big enough.""But the bed is all the way over there. I'll just sleep here."Gage straightened up, waited a second for his head to stop spinning, then pulled Luke upright."Aw, man." Luke pouted, his eyes half closed."We are not sleeping on the couch, babe." Gage swung Luke into his arms, something he didn't do often because Luke said it made him feel weak. "And no bitching.""I'm not saying a damn word this time," Luke sighed as he rested his head on Gage's shoulder. "Although how the hell you have the energy is beyond me.""Desperation. I am not sleeping on the couch." Gage staggered into the bed room and dropped Luke on the bed."Not your most graceful move," Luke said as he bounced once then curled up."Got your ass in here though." Gage fell down on the bed by Luke and curled around him. He barely had the strength to cover them with the blanket before they were both snoring.

Few Hours Left
Well, in a few hours Darkness Awaits will no longer be for sale. :'( For those that bought it I want to say thank you so much! :)
So, it looks like I'll be a few weeks without anything out, then Nighttime Wishes will be released. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with Darkness. I *may* tweak a few things and see if I can find another home for it. Or I might just self publish it—I'm still kicking that idea around, too. I'm not planning (oh no, there's that damn word again!) to change it much though if I do tweak it.
I just don't know yet, and with all the things I've got going on right now it may be a while before I can get to it. But yeah, it was my first published book and it kinda hurts to see it disappear for a while. *sob*
Ah well, we'll see what the future hold for Max and Michael.

The Yellow Rope ch7
"But you need the control, too.""Yeah, I do.""I gotcha.""Now that that's over, eat up. This place serves the best damn hamburger you'll ever have. And Luke? I may push your limits, but I will never push you past them.""I know that, babe. Why do you think I'm okay with letting you restrain me? I trust you, completely.""You have no idea what a gift that is." Gage smiled as Luke bit into the hamburger and his eyes widened. "Holy mother. Is this thing even legal?"Gage winked. "Told ya."They finished the meal and took the long way home, enjoying each other and the tension that slowly built between them. * * * * Luke rolled down his window and let the warm night air ruffled his hair. Leaning his head back against the seat, he closed his eyes, relaxing. The radio was turned down low, the notes of an old love song whispering through the vehicle. Luke drifted, enjoying the chance to just let go when Gage's hand landed his leg. He turned his head and cracked an eye open to look at his lover. Gage drove through the night, the street lights flashing past. A smile curved his lips, and Luke trembled under Gage's hand. He knew that smile. He didn't say a word as Gage's fingers walked up his thigh then trailed across his groin. He didn't need to speak, the bulge Gage felt under his questing hand said all there needed to be said. Luke sucked his stomach in when Gage's fingers skimmed across the sensitive skin between his pants and shirt then dipped inside his waistband to tease. He grunted when those seeking fingers brushed across the top of his cock."Undo your pants," Gage said. Luke knew that tone of voice. He unsnapped the button fly jeans and spread the material open. His breathing spiked as Gage ran a fingertip down the length of his cloth-encased cock. One simple touch and he was achingly hard for Gage."Take it out for me."Luke's own fingers trembled as he pushed his briefs down, exposing his dick. His chest rose and fell rapidly, and he bit his bottom lip as he looked down at himself. His dick rested against his stomach, begging to be touched. The head was flushed and the top was shiny from his excitement."Now slip your arms under the seat belt and leave them there. Understand?""Yes."Gage drove through the night, his lone finger lazily traveling up and down Luke's dick. The touch was light and gentle. Luke was torn between wanting to scream in frustration and moan in delight. Surround by the darkness of night with only the dashboard lights illumining the cab Luke waited. He turned his head to watch Gage, who relentlessly teased his poor aching shaft with feather light touches as he drove through the night. Mouth open, panting softly, he watched and waited."So hard for me," Gage said quietly, his fingertip sliding down the shaft again, "such a pretty dick, a nice handful with a perfectly shaped head. So hard and hot under my hand, begging for my touch. So mine."Luke had to swallow before he could speak. "Yours.""I can feel you twitch as I stroke you." Gage slowed down as they approached a stop light. "Look, there's a police car at the light.""Jesus, Gage. Maybe you should cover me—oh shit—"Gage ran his thumb over the top of Luke's dick, making it jump. "Maybe you should not tell me what to do. And act natural, just in case he looks over here.""Are you fucking kidding me? Act natural while you jack me off in front of a cop? Gage!""You're hard, so don't even act like you're horrified. Besides, I know how stuff like this gets to you."As they pulled next to officers patrol car, Gage pumped Luke's dick hard and fast. Luke's hips thrust before he grabbed the reins of his out-of-control body and froze. Out of the corner of his eye he saw the cop glance over, and Luke prayed he wouldn't notice the up and down motion of Gage's arm. "He's looking over here, don't do anything to give us away," Gage said as he lifted his other hand off the steering wheel and wave at the cop while his other hand jerked Luke's dick."Oh dear god, Gage," Luke whispered, fighting the urge to toss his head back and forth against the headrest. Just how long was the damn red light? "Please change, please hurry up and change."Gage laughed softly as the light finally honored Luke's desperate request. The cop pulled away, none the wiser. Luke's balls were churning with the need to come. As Gage pulled through the intersection, his hand slowed down and Luke moaned in disappointment. He was so damn close."When I get you home I'm gonna rip your clothes off, bend you over the couch and tie your ass there. Yeah, legs spread open and tied to the couch legs, unable to go anywhere until I let you, then I'm gonna fuck you until you scream for me. I'm gonna pound your ass so hard, ram my big-ass dick up so far you'll taste it, then fill you up with my come.""Shit! Gonna, gonna…"Luke fought against the seatbelt straps, his body arching, head thrown back as his hips thrust into Gage's hand. It was all the more beautiful for his silence. Breathe frozen in his chest, lights exploded in his head as his orgasm rushed upon him. "Oh no, you're not gonna," Gage said as he tugged hard on Luke's dick, stopping his orgasm. "Breathe, babe."Air exploded from Luke's lungs. "Fuck! Damn it, man, I just lost brains cells from you doing that."Gage's bark of laughter sounded in the vehicle. "You moron, you don't lose brain cells from orgasm denial.""Wanna bet? I feel stupider, trust me.""That's just from all the blood draining down into your dick." Gage patted the object of the discussion. "He looks fine to me.""Yeah, well, you're not attached to him." Luke moaned as Gage went back to the light strokes up and down his dick. "Please tell me we're almost home.""Huh, maybe you're onto something if you can't even tell where we're at," Gage smirked. "We're nearly there.""Hard to see when my eyes are rolled up in the back of my head," Luke muttered."Be nice, or I'll wait until morning to make you come," Gage said as he pulled onto their street. "Anything looking familiar?""All I care to see is the back of that couch." Luke grunted when Gage flicked the top of his cockhead. "You evil man.""One couch coming up," Gage said as he pulled in his parking spot. ~M

Quick Note
*Grin*
I'm at it again, lol. Like I don't have enough going on, oh no, I just got to go and get hit with an idea for another story!
So, how y'all feel about demons? Just wondering, lol, cause I got this idea for a killer-yes, pun intended-idea. I've never done demons, so this is a new area for me. *wink*
Ever heard of Asmodeus? He's one of the seven princes of Hell and represents the seven deadly sin Lust. It's said people who fall to Asmodeus' ways will be sentenced to an eternity in the second level of hell. He has 72 legions of demons under his command and is under Lucifer the emperor.
There are many different references to this demon. I think I'm going with the one that says Asmodeus is a cambion... a half-human offspring from the union between a human male and a succubus, or of an incubus and a human female. I think having the power of a incubus will add a little spice to his love life, lol.
Of course I'll put my own spin on things. And we'll see if this end up as a HEA or not. I'm kinda thinking it will, knowing me. But there's all kinds of happily ever after, and what a demon considers happy is... well, say we say different from us? *giggle*
After all, there's hell... and then there's HELL. ;)

TGI Friday
Hey guys, for TGI Friday we're going to do something a little different. This is an interview I did with Amylea Lyn. She's a multi-published author, and I'm so pleased to have the opportunity to interview her! Please check her out at her blog Passion's Harem.
Amylea Lyn
~When did you first realize you wanted to be a writer?
I don't know if there was ever an exact moment… being a writer is just something I've always wanted to do. I remember being a little girl and writing stories to amuse my friends at school.
I don't think I'd be happy doing anything else. LOL
~How do you come up with a title?
Funny you should ask… LOL. I recently changed the title to a story because I didn't like the way it sounded in relation to some of my other works. I generally try to some up with a "just for now" title while I'm writing, so I can keep things straight on my schedule and in my mind. After my story is done I decide whether or not I want to change it. For some reason the titles just come to me.
But I admit, I have also been known to use my grandma Joyce as a sounding board. She's awesome and reads everything I write. LOL. I've come up with a lot of titles thanks to her.
~ How long does it take you to write an eBook/full story?
Hmm… about three months or so. Sometimes a bit longer. I try to keep to a schedule, especially now that my books are becoming better known and I have series' out. The readers demand more books out in a timely fashion and I try to deliver them.
Speaking of, I've only got a month to finish my current WIP. *head desk*
~Where do you get your information or ideas for your books?
My ideas come from everywhere. I can be inspired by TV, a song on the radio, or even a conversation with a friend. I never know when an idea will hit me, and always carry a little notebook around with me to jot ideas down in. Just recently I was inspired for a scene in a book while out eating sushi!
As for information, I do a lot of research, especially if I'm writing about an area I'm not all that familiar with. The internet is my friend… *pets computer lovingly*
~Which character caused you most difficulty to write?
Honestly, the more normal a character is, the harder they are for me to write. I excel at the off the wall types. If I had to pick one, it would have to be Aiden from Dream a Little Dream.
~When do you do your best writing… morning, afternoon, evening, night?
It used to be night, but right now it seems to be afternoon. As long as I'm alone and my cat is occupied elsewhere, I'm good to go. :)
~Out of all the stories you've written which one are you most proud of?
Nature of the Beast. Definitely. It was the first book in my Outside the City series and completely out of my comfort zone.
I'm even more proud not to say that book 2 of the series, The Beast's Promise, comes out on March 24th and I'm about halfway don't with book 3!
~Which story caused you the most difficulty to write?
I have a hard time writing anything that has to do with child abuse, and there is a scene in my book The Beast's Promise that literally made me walk away from the book for almost two weeks.
As for the hardest story to write as a whole, I'd have to say Dream a Little Dream since it was my first novel and took me over 6 months to finish.
~Which character is most like yourself?
Is it cheating if I say all of them? LOL. I put a bit of myself into each of my characters, but out of all of them I'd have to say Raine from Nature of the Beast. We share the same attitude and a deep love of nature.
~Do you plan your stories and, if so, to what extent?
I have a general outline for each story before I start writing, just so I know where I'm headed in the end and what major factors I have to touch on at some point. After that, it's all up the characters and where ever my Muse decides to take me.
~Do you plan your characters?
The main ones. The supporting characters just seem to pop out of nowhere… I think there might be a waiting room of some kind in my mind where they hang out until they feel they're needed. *chuckles*
~Out of all the characters you've written which one has affected you most? Not necessarily which one you like most, but which one 'got to you'?
Cael. From Dream a Little Dream. He went through so much at such a young age and I always felt so bad for putting him through what I did. I rooted for him the whole time I was writing his story and cheered along with my readers when he finally got his happily ever after.
And Tom, from Let's Get Familiar. And Mi'Kel from Love's Crash Landing… I have a thing for the sweet, needy types.
~Do you think there are any hidden messages in any of your stories?
Just to love each other without worry of what others say and think. It's something all my characters seem to learn in the end. Everyone deserves a love story, even the not so nice guys in my books.
~How many times have you started a story and abandoned it?
Never. LOL. Well, okay that's not exactly true. I do have a file labeled the "Elephant Graveyard" in my computer, but I have no problem pulling stuff out if needed. I always know that eventually I'll go back to something, so I save everything.
~How many stories do you work on at any one time?
One main one, possibly two, but I dabble with a blog story once a week and may work on some outlines if I get writers block. But never more then two main stories at a time. I always feel like I didn't do the characters and story justice if I try to stretch myself thin by working on too much at one time.
~Has there even been something that you have had a SERIOUS disagreement with your editor or beta reader about?
Not that I know of. I always try to listen to my editors and betas objectively. The only time I remember disagreeing with something big was when it completely changed the context of the story from that point on, basically rendering everything else I'd written useless.
Needless to say, we didn't make that change and the story was published like I wanted it to be. *winks*
~What is your deepest fear?
You know, when I was younger I always said my fear was heights. Now I realize my fear isn't actually heights, but falling and hitting the ground from so far up. I can go as high as the moon and fall with no problem, as long in the end I won't hit the ground with a splat!
~What do you like to do when you're not writing??
I really enjoy gardening, and currently getting ready for this planting season. I also like canning and preserving foods (jams, pickled peppers, and home-made applesauce, oh my!) and spend a lot of time doing that. I also enjoy reading books by other authors and I used to like taking long drives in my car…. Until gas prices got to be so high! LOL.
~Is there anything you'd like to tell? Maybe something in the works you would like to promotion? Feel free!
Well, as I stated above I have a book coming out on March 24th. The Beast's Promise (Outside the City 2) will be available from Silver Publishing! This is Owen and Maltok's story, so for everyone who read book 1, I hope this book 2 measures up to your expectations! LOL
After that I have another book coming out with Silver Publishing, called Solid as Stone. (Tentatively scheduled for July 21st.) This is book 1 of my new series titles The Brotherhood and I can't wait for everyone to read it!
I have one more book out towards the end of the year, which is the blog story I just finished writing, Whispered Secrets, Hidden Eyes. It's due out around late September I believe.
Those are the things scheduled, and I'm trying to get book 3 of Outside the City finished by the end of April. After that I'll be working on the sequel to Love's Crash Landing and book 2 of The Brotherhood.
Needless to say I'll be a busy girl for the next few months. LOL.

The Yellow Rope ch6
"So, did you like the movie?" Gage asked.
"Are you kidding me? If offered a million dollars to tell what it was about… well, I'd be up shit creek."
"Distracted, were you?"
"Ha, ha. As it just so happens, yes, I was," Luke said. "Where are we going now?"
"You'll see," Gage said. "The day isn't over yet."
"Oh boy."
* * * *
Gage drove them to the outskirts of town. Older and a bit run down, this older area had missed the sudden growth the newer areas had enjoyed. On the right side of the street was a little mom and pop type restaurant that didn't look like much. The place didn't look bad, just old.
"Figured you'd be hungry," Gage said.
"Well, I am, but…"
Gage parked then turned the car off. He faced Luke. "This is one of my favorite places to eat. I was a kid, I came here often with my parents. The food is simple, but I promise you won't find good home cooking like this in town."
Luke still looked doubtful.
"Just trust me on this. You'll love it."
"It's just the place looks so… worn."
"It hasn't changed since I was a kid, so yeah it needs a fresh coat of paint. Wait 'til you see the inside."
"Well… okay. If I end up with food poisoning, though, you'll never hear the end, you know that, right?"
"I'll hold your head while you vomit."
"Oh jeez, thanks so much. That's comforting." Luke stuck his tongue out at Gage. "What a trooper you are."
"Want me to find something for you to do with that tongue? Bet I can."
Before Luke could open his mouth to speak, his stomach growled.
"Guess that will have to wait. Let's feed you."
Luke stared blankly at Gage. "Just curious, have you started a new diet? Vitamins? Wheaties? Found a new porn site? What the hell, man?"
Gage laughed as they walked to the entrance. "None of the above. I've just missed you."
With a flourish, he opened the door for Luke.
"Wow, I'm almost temped to let you go without any for a long next time again for treatment like this," Luke said as he walked by. A swift tap to his ass had him rolling his eyes. "Then again, maybe not."
"I'd be careful if I was you, babe. This is a gay-friendly place and I just might insist you meet me in the bathroom later."
Luke gasped. "Perv."
"You know it."
"Yeah, well, somehow I doubt the owners would let that kind of stuff go on here with kids running around."
A hostess walked them to a table in the back and took their drink order. Luke looked around. Antiques and memorabilia covered the walls and were placed lovingly around the room. Old signs, gas cans, pictures that looked like they date back to the 1950's, parts of old cars, antique lamps with stained glad shades… the whole place was totally cool. The table was covered in a red and white checked tablecloth. Luke shook his head, his eyes traveling the room. He could tell someone had taken care of the place. Why had Gage not told him of this place before?
"I love it. It's unlike anything I've ever seen."
"Wait until you taste the food." Gage handed Luke a menu. "I recommend the hamburgers. You can't get hamburgers like this short of cooking them in the backyard."
"Well, as long as it's not chicken I should be safe."
Gage threw his napkin at Luke. "Don't you start. That damn chicken was cursed."
"Right."
A waiter came and took their order. Luke went with Gage's suggestion and ordered a burger and fries. Gage had the same thing.
"Can I ask you something?"
"Sure."
"Why am I just finding out about this place now? You really seem to like it here."
Gage fiddled with the straw in his drink then looked at Luke. "Remember when we first started dating? I told you I had just broken up with my live-in."
"Yeah, the topic had neon flashing lights around it that screamed off limits."
"I know. I was in a bad spot then. The break up was… rough."
"You want to tell me now?"
Gage sighed. "I don't consider myself a dom, you know that. But, there was a time I was in that kind of relationship."
"Wow, really? Full out BDSM, huh?"
"Yeah. And, ah, see… I wasn't the dom, either."
Luke choked on his water. He quickly set the glass down. "Say what?"
"I was the submissive in the relationship. I was the bottom."
Luke head spun; Gage rarely bottomed. If he did, he did it on his terms, like earlier. He always had… Luke gulped. Suddenly he was afraid.
"You don't have to talk about this, okay. Whatever happened is in the past, Gage."
"That's true. But you have a right to know why I only bottom on occasion and why I—"
Luke put his hand over Gage's. "If bottoming was a problem for me, you'd know it. You know I prefer to bottom. Who's on top and who's on bottom—and why—doesn't matter to me."
Gage smiled. "I know it doesn't. But I need to tell you this."
"Then tell me. I'm here for you."
They stopped talking while an older guy who looked like he might also be the owner brought their food to the table.
After the waiter left Gage sighed and closed his eyes. "I was new to the scene and didn't have a clue what types of doms there were, Luke. I hooked up with this guy and a relationship grew from it. What I didn't know at the time was he liked pain. A lot. Liked giving his sub pain."
"Dear Lord."
"Back then I was still trying to figure what I wanted. Bottoming just seemed to… I don't know how to say it. It just wasn't enough. The guy was good, I'll give him that. He didn't really start hurting me until I quit my job and moved in with him."
"But you've never hurt me. Are you holding back because I'm not a pain slut?"
Gage grabbed Luke's hand. "No. That's the thing. I wasn't into pain. And it's also why I'm careful with you. A lot of damage can be done if the dom isn't attentive to his sub. Or… it can be done on purpose."
"Oh god, oh god… Gage."
"Shhh. It's okay. The relationship ended when he put me in the hospital with a broken wrist. I also finally admitted that I'm a top. It took a lot out of me to break the spell he had over me, but I did. Then I met you."
"But, I don't understand why you didn't bring me here before… Oh shit. Does he own this place?" Luke suddenly stood up. "Let's go. Come on, Gage, please. I mean it."
"Babe, sit down. Yes, his family owns the place but he won't show up here. About a month ago he moved to the west coast to open a new restaurant."
"How did you know that?"
"A friend of the family let me know. They know what he is, Luke, and they don't like it."
Luke fell back in his seat. "Okay, well, if the memories are too bad here for you—"
"They aren't. That's not why I avoided this place. I wasn't afraid of what he'd do to me… I was afraid of what he'd do to you."
Luke wanted to beat his head on the table. "Now I'm completely lost."
"Sweetheart, you have a submissive streak a mile wide. When you're in your professional role you can handle anything, but when that hat comes off… you're submissive. Do you have any idea what he could do to you with just words?"
"But, what about you?"
"I dealt with my demons concerning him long ago. He can't hurt me now, and I refuse to give him the chance to use you to get back at me."
"Can I ask you something?"
"Anything."
"Is that why, when you bottom, you like it rough?"
"It's part of the reason, and it's the only way I can get off when bottoming. It's one of the few times I like a little pain."
"But you need the control, too."
"Yeah, I do."
"I gotcha."
"Now that that is over, eat up. This place serves the best damn hamburger you'll ever have. And Luke? I may push your limits, but I will never push you past them."
"I know that, babe. Why do you think I'm okay with letting you restrain me? I trust you, completely."
"I know that, and you have no idea what a gift that is." Gage smiled as Luke bit into the hamburger and his eyes widened.
"Holy mother. Is this thing even legal?"
Gage winked. "Told ya."
They finished the meal and took the long way home, enjoying each other and the tension that was building between them. ~M
