Welcome Alicia Nordwell and a giveaway!
Hey everyone! Today I have the wonderful Cia on Decadent Delights, and lol, she's talking about delightful things. ;) She also has a contest from now to the 17th. I'll announce the winner here, Twitter, and FB on the 18th. :)
Okay, so y'all pay real close attention to what Cia has to say while I stand over here by these goodies. No, no, no, those are for after Cia gets done talking... Huh? What am I doing? Me? *wipes mouth* Um, I'm ah... Hey! You guys are supposed to be paying attention Cia!!!! *swipes the chocolatly looking thingy and runs*
So, what’s my new eBook about? Cooking! No, not really. It’s a contemporary romance with a paranormal element, which is one of my favorite cross-genres to write. Okay, one of the main characters in Needing You is a chef-in-training though and that plays a lot into how Chris and Niel meet.
If I were to have a job, outside of Mom Extraordinaire, Author, GA Admin, Hubby Go-for, and general awesome Cianess … I’d love to be a pastry chef. There’s just something about creating desserts that look beautiful and dance along your taste buds that appeals to me.
Sensual.
That sensuality is something I also try to bring into my writing as much as possible. I want to engage your senses. I want you to see, smell … taste the story. Well, when that applies. I step into a story when I read one that is well written, so much so that I could swear I was within the character, and I always strive to share that experience with my readers too.
So what do I have for my readers today? I picked this section specifically to share with you in honor of the senses, and no … it won’t be a dinner scene. If you like what you read, share your
Excerpt:
He reached over to tweak Niel's ear; the small blue stone earring the only truly unusual thing about Niel, aside from his beauty. The gentle flick Chris gave him couldn’t have hurt but the small sound Niel made as his eyes closed intrigued him. Slipping out of the chair, he knelt in front of Niel. His fingers caressed the outer curve of one pale ear as Chris watched the pleasure send a shudder down Niel's spine.
"Feel good?" Chris' voice was heated, low and possessive. He loved making the smaller man react to him. He’d wanted to respond to Niel for weeks after they met but forced himself to ignore him to keep his secret safe. He was no longer interested in ignoring him; Chris wanted to make Niel gasp and squirm.
He leaned down and started kissing Niel's neck, soft caresses with his lips interspersed with gentle nibbles. He worked his way up the slender column, noticing several thin ridges, like scars, across Niel’s neck but ignored them in favor of working his way up to ear, to that spot seemed to turn Niel on so much. With the tip of his tongue Chris traced all around the edge of his ear before latching on and sucking on Niel's earlobe.
Niel gasped and shuddered. Chris wrapped one hand in his hair, pulling Niel tight to his body, and held his head still as he undulated and writhed against him. Pulling back, he chuckled at the way Niel moaned in protest.
Niel blinked. "Why'd you stop?" he asked breathily.
His eyes were half-shut and he was panting, his arousal obvious as a bulge pressed against the front of his pants. Chris couldn't resist those barely parted lips. He tilted Niel's head back with the hand still wrapped in his hair and swept in to steal a kiss. Thrusting his tongue inside, he savored the flavors of the bitter coffee they’d had with their sweet cake combined with the unique taste that was Niel alone. Niel slid off the bed and straddled his lap, wrapping his arms around Chris as they greedily tasted each other, oblivious to the minutes as they passed. Their bodies moved, hips rocking against each other; gasps and moans stifled by their kisses as their movements became more and more urgent.
Chris ran his hands down Niel's back to cup his ass and pulled him off the bed to straddle his lap. Their cocks rubbed together, each hard ridge covered by too many layers. He restrained himself from opening Niel’s pants. If the day before had been Niel’s first kiss then he’d definitely never done anything like this.
He contented himself with dipping his fingers just inside the waistband of Niel’s pants, stroking the soft skin just above his ass.
*Whew* Hands out and fans. I know, right? Short, but intense. Do you want to see what happens? Remember, if you want to win a copy of my eBook, comment here and don’t forget your email addy. If you just can’t wait, lol, you can use the buy links below.

My Sexy Saturday
Happy Saturday and welcome to my first My Sexy Saturday! For this hop you post 7 paragraphs or 7 sentences or 7 words. It can be from a WIP or something published.
For this week, I thought I’d do something from my latest Dreamspinner release Shadows in the Night. It can be found here. It’s a paranormal/shifter novel that focuses on two men raised in different times—Jason, a Native American shifter, and Chip, a modern man with modern ideas.
Time has also brought with it an enemy that harbors a deep-seated hatred for Jason; an enemy who will use whatever means necessary to bring Jason to his knees… including Jason’s own mate.
Enjoy! And don’t forget to visit the rest of Blog Hop!
THE black cougar pulled the blanket to mid-hip. Chip’s chest was still bare, but hey, he had to get his kicks somehow.
Ugh, raw steak. Stereotypical response. See what looks like a wild animal and offer it raw, bloody meat. I prefer mine medium-well, Chip.
He made another loop around the living area. As far as he could tell, things had calmed down outside and the other shifter was gone. The appearance of a new cougar worried him. He knew who all the shifters were in town, and this one, he didn’t recognize. There was something about its scent too—he smelled off. Wrong. He had made eye contact when they fought and there was nothing, no humanity in the other cougar’s eyes. All of his kind retained their morals while in spirit form. Whoever this was had targeted Chip, and that was a mistake. Messing with a shifter’s mate not only could result in death, but usually did. His kind tended to be… possessive.
He glanced back at Chip. His human was snoring. All the excitement must have worn him out.
And what the hell is up with the “boy” nickname all of a sudden? Do I look like a boy? We’ll see who the “boy” is when I get your ass in bed and you’re under me screaming my name. Frankly, I don’t think I can afford to wait much longer, with the appearance of that other shifter. Of course, you need to know whose name to yell. First thing tomorrow, I plan to remedy that, thanks to the Other. Just wish it didn’t have to be done like this.
He’d taken to calling the new shifter Other simply because he didn’t know who he was. Hours passed, and the night sky lightened as daybreak approached. He decided it was safe for him to leave. There had been no sign of the new shifter for hours.
Should I wake him? Ah well, where’s the fun in that? Time to make a point, I think. One that he can’t ignore. Might as well, because come tomorrow, he’s going to have to deal with the fact things aren’t what they seem around here.

Shadows in the Night release!
Grandparents, like heroes, are as necessary to a child’s growth as vitamins.
~Joyce Allston
Hey everyone! My latest book called Shadows in the Night from Dreamspinner has been released. This will be released in the usual eBook formats and also in print. Plus, the first twenty print books will have a page signed by me. :) I also plan to do a giveaway for a print copy on the 19th through the 21st, so be on the lookout for that! There are giveaways for the eBook running on The Armchair Reader (7/11), Jollyful Jay Review (7/12) and Tali Spencer's blog (7/16) too. :)One of my main characters is Jason, a Native American shifter—a black cougar. Here are a few facts about cougars:~The cougar (Puma concolor)—also known as the puma, mountain lion, panther, or catamount—is native to the Americas. Its range extends from the Canadian Yukon to the southern Andes of South America and is the greatest of any large wild terrestrial mammal in the Western Hemisphere.
~The cougar is an adaptable, generalist species and is found in most American habitat types.
~It’s also the second heaviest cat in the Western Hemisphere, after the jaguar.
~The cougar is solitary by nature and nocturnal; it’s closely related to smaller felines and is genetically closer to the domestic cat than true lions.
Now here’s the interesting part lol.
~There are no authenticated cases of truly melanistic (a development of dark-colored pigment in the skin or appendages and is the opposite of albinism) cougars. Melanistic cougars have never been photographed or shot in the wild and none has ever been bred. Unconfirmed sightings, known as the “North American black panther”, are currently attributed to errors in species identification by non-experts, and by the memetic (an idea, behavior, or style that spreads from person to person within a culture) exaggeration of size. In other words, according to the experts, there is nosuch thing as a black cougar. Huh. Guess someone should tell my black cougar shifter that, lol. ;) And someone may want to tell Jason he’s involved himself with a guy, Chip, who is a modern man with modern ideas. *grin* The fur is sure to fly when these two, from such different times, come together.
Oh, and let’s not forget there’s another shifter out there who has Chip in his sights and has murder on his mind.
Blurb:
When Chip Riley's beloved granny passes away, she leaves him all her money, her land, and a house that needs some tender love and care. She never mentioned the legacy comes with a Native American shifter who intends to claim Chip as his mate.
Jason Sky has lived since buffalo roamed the land. When his totem spirit, a black cougar, saves a little girl, he doesn’t realize that generations later, her grandson will become his mate, leaving him to take on a modern man with modern ideas. But that’s the least of his problems.
Garon, another shifter with a long-held hatred for Jason, plots to kidnap Chip and lure Jason to his death. Soon Chip finds himself in an untenable position between a rock and a hard place. A leap of faith may be the only way to save himself and the man he’s learned to love.

Excerpt:
A DULL strand of coppery red hair worked loose from the haphazard bun at the back of her neck, and with a sigh, Eva brushed it back behind her ear. It was early morning, but the heaviness of the air promised another scorcher.
“’Ranny! ’Ranny!”
A delighted smile lit Eva’s face as the precocious three-year-old came running around the corner of the house. He couldn’t quite pronounce the “G” sound, so instead of Granny he called her Ranny. The bright morning sun hit the little boy, and his light auburn hair once again reminded her of a living flame. He had inherited her red tresses and moss-green eyes.
“Over here, Chipper.”
Her grandson was her pride and joy… and more special than anyone knew. It was a shame his mother and father couldn’t see that, but her daughter didn’t care for anyone but herself. Their relationship was stilted, at best. Chip’s father was more concerned with making money than having anything to do with his son. Eva hated to admit it, but she didn’t have much use for either of her grandson’s parents. As a result of both parents neglecting Chip, the older the little boy became, the more time he ended up spending with her. Which, secretly, relieved her. Fate had big plans for the little guy; she had seen that firsthand in one of her visions.
“Go fish now?”
She had promised him last night they’d fish in the pond close to her house. It was just the two of them now; her husband Ed had died of a heart attack a year ago. The man had been in his late fifties, active, didn’t drink or smoke—and one morning had dropped dead of a heart attack. Eva grieved that Chip would never remember his grandfather.
“Yes, sweetie, we’ll go to the pond and fish for a while.”
Eva had the poles, a small tackle box, and a picnic basket ready to go. With any luck, they’d be having catfish for dinner. Of course, that depended on how soon the little bundle of energy dancing around her tired out.
“Ride horsey?”
“Oh, sweetie, remember? I told you that Horsey may or may not show up today.” Eva glanced at the tree line as the animal Chip called “horsey” moved toward them. “Although something told me he’d be here.” The large, black cat moved nearer with a grace that belied the strength and deadliness he possessed. Keen, humanlike intelligence showed in his eyes. Eva was unsurprised. She knew full well this animal was more than what he appeared. “Horsey!” Chip squealed and raced in the direction of the animal.
“Had a feeling you wouldn’t miss this.” Eva, a smile on her lips, shook her head as a happy rumble sounded from deep within the animal’s chest. He lowered himself to the ground so Chip could climb on his back. “Okay, come along you two. Daylight’s a-wasting.”
Eva followed the huge cat, her grandson babbling merrily to the animal about whatever hit his fertile mind. The trip to the pond was a short one, and soon they arrived. But even with the small child riding on his back and talking nonstop, the creature never lowered his guard. His ears twitched as he listened to the woodland creatures, alert for any signs of danger. Eva trusted his instincts—in fact, trusted him with her and her grandson’s lives. Without him, she wouldn’t be alive. The beast had proven his loyalty to her and her parents a long time ago, and a friendship had been born.
Eva found a shady spot by the pond and laid out an old sheet she’d brought. There she laid the picnic basket, along with a few towels. After she cast out her line, she turned to watch as the animal and Chip played by the bank.
“Go get it!” Chip hollered as he threw a small ball she had brought.
The creature chased after the ball, and Chip ran after the beast. They pursued each other, the animal allowing the small child to catch him. He was always careful to keep his claws retracted as they played. Giggles and an occasional yip drifted to her.
Chip made his way to her side after he grew tired of the game. “Ranny, go swim?”
“Sure, sweetie.” Eva reeled in her line and helped the little boy take off his shoes, socks, and shirt. The beast waited patiently as she readied Chip, then followed the youngster to the water. “Have fun, boys.”
The water wasn’t deep where they splashed and frolicked. Anytime Chip wandered too deep, the cat herded him back to shallower water. Eva giggled like a young girl when the beast splashed Chip with his paw.
Chip wiped the water from his eyes. “No fair!”
“Oh, you’ve done it now.” Eva chuckled.
The beast turned his head to look at her and a sound rumbled from it that sounded amazingly like a laugh. When he turned back to the little boy, his greenish-yellow eyes widened. Chip floated on his back, kicking furiously. A tidal wave of water crashed down on the animal. Soft, playful growls and shrieks of laughter could be heard echoing through the woods as the beast and the small human child mock-fought. With a gentle nudge of his head, the animal ushered Chip from the water.
“Think it’s rest time, Chipper. You hungry?”
“Uh-huh.”
Chip rubbed his eyes with his fists as Eva dried him off. To the side, the beast licked his coat dry. Eva laid out the sandwiches and poured a cup of juice for Chip. A bowl filled with fresh water sat near her grandson’s plate. Chip and the creature settled down on the sheet to eat lunch. The animal took breaks from slurping water from his bowl to eat bits and pieces of the sandwich Chip fed him. Soon the little boy was curled up next to the creature.
“I’m going to try to get a little fishing done,” Eva whispered as her grandson slipped off to sleep. Purring softly, the beast nodded his head. “I won’t be far.”
When Eva returned a short time later with her catch, she stopped and watched the huge, black animal and the little boy sleeping next to each other.
“I’m back.” Eva sat down next to the beast. A long black tail rested across Chip’s legs, and greenish-yellow eyes focused on Eva. “You know this can’t go on much longer, my friend. He’s smart for a child his age, and soon he’s going to ask questions about you.”
The creature rumbled in agreement.
“I know it’ll be hard for you. But another year—maybe two—and you’ll have to disappear from his life. The time isn’t right yet for you to make yourself known.”
The creature rumbled again, sadness in his eyes.
Eva ran her hand over the thick black coat. “I know, dear. But the time will come. You and I both know that. It will come, and he’s going to need you. Take care of him for me, okay?”
The beast nodded his head again. His time would come, but not for many years yet. The little boy had to grow into a man first.

Wednesday Briefs
Welcome to the Wednesday Briefers flash group. The short stories have a maximum of a 1000 word count plus links at the bottom to the other flashers. The prompts for this week are: "afternoon delight"
or "Is that your best bedside manner?"
or "If wishes were fishes..."
or "where angels fear to tread..."
or use a kite in some way
or use a bull's eye
or use a Hello Kitty product
or have a famous celebrity make a surprise guest appearance in your story
~ ~ ~
Now, again, Nighttime Promises is the 3rd book in the Nighttime series, which is published by Romance First. I'm using the prompts to help me get going on this book. Yes, this is a tentacle story lol.
Fair warning! I'm going to pull this about 3/4th of the way through, expand it, and send it off. Most of the story will be shown on here though. I'm giving this warning so no one will be caught off guard when I pull the story.
Nighttime Promises #2
Bryan eased himself off the medibed and stopped for a moment until he was sure his legs would hold him. God, he was damn weak. As he waited, he looked at the big alien resting near him. Daroshi was still asleep and—didn’t that beat all?—he was snoring. Huh, who would have thought it? They could snore. He grinned slightly at the sound. Better question was why did that comfort him?
Shaking his head at the turn his thoughts had taken, he quietly made his way to the bathroom. While the Maz’Rarians did have humanoid facial features to some extent, there was no getting round the tentacles on their heads. Nor what they could do with them. The first time they’d had sex had blown his mind.
Perhaps that was why such a human-like sound soothed him. Bryan stood before what resembled a toilet and emptied his full bladder. Yeah, maybe blowing his mind wasn’t a strong enough description for what all those tentacles had done to his body. One had sucked his cock while others had teased his nipples. Yet more tentacles had held him still in Daroshi’s arms. Then there was the one he’d sucked on while the mating tentacle had pierced his hole.
“Jesus,” he muttered as his dick tried to harden. Yes, mind blowing wasn’t an apt description of sex with Daroshi.
Bryan finished using the bathroom and turned to what he assumed was a mirror. It was a rectangular black glassy screen that took up most of the wall. He touched the symbols at the bottom and the blackness faded to a reflective surface. He stared at himself. Man, he looked bad. The stress of the past few weeks had caught up with him—saying he was gaunt was putting it nicely.
His sapphire blue eyes were sunken in his head and the laugh lines around his eyes slashed deeper into his face. The dark circles didn’t help matters, either. God, he looked like he had two black eyes. The skin was that nasty bruise color and puffy.
And were there more than a few strands of gray in his dark hair now? At age thirty-four this was ridiculous. That’s what stress would do for you, and this was about as stressful a situation as he’d ever been in. Bryan sighed. The poisoning deal had scared him—he could have died. Should have died, actually. Someone was after his ass and they didn’t know who. On top of that, they were hurtling through space toward a planet he’d soon be calling home—with an alien.
Yeah, stressful. “Shit,” he muttered. “Things have got to get—”
“Bryan!”
Bryan flinched at the roar from the other room. Damn, did these alien know how to do anything other than yell?
“Where are you? Bryan? Bryan! By the stars, answer me!”
A loud crash echoed into the bathroom.
“Oh, for God’s sake.” Bryan shook his head. What the hell was Daroshi doing out there? Tearing Medical apart looking for him? Did Daroshi think he’d… what? Run away? Where was there to run to? Besides, he had someone trying to kill him. He damn sure wasn’t going to go wandering the halls alone.
“Bryan!”
“I’m in here, Daroshi.”
Daroshi slammed into the bathroom area, chest heaving and tentacles writhing on his back. Jesus, he looked fierce. “What are you doing?”
“Playing checkers?” Bryan rolled his eyes. “What do you think I’m doing in here? It’s a bathroom. Come on, big guy, you figure it out. Jeez.”
Daroshi leaned against the doorframe, the rise and fall of his chest slowing. “I’m not even going to ask what this ‘checkers’ means. Bryan, the medibed stopped monitoring your stats. There was no longer a low beeping noise. I woke up thinking there was something wrong, and instead I find you’re… You weren’t there.”
“Aw man, I didn’t think. I had to use the bathroom and… What are you doing?” Bryan grabbed hold of Daroshi’s shoulders as his feet left the ground.
Daroshi hoisted Bryan into his arms, growling loudly even as a tentacle snaked across one massive shoulder to pat Bryan. “I’m taking you back to the medibed. You know, it’s that thing that monitors your body’s systems? You were poisoned and shouldn’t be up. Do you understand how serious this is?”
Huh, sarcasm. “Since I was the one poisoned I’d have to say that yeah, I get it.” Bryan rested his head against Daroshi’s neck. “Wow, is that your best bedside manner? Because I have to tell you, it leaves a lot to be desired.”
“Waking up and finding you missing left a lot to be desired.” Daroshi gently lowered Bryan back down onto the medibed. “Do not do that again.”
The snappy retort was right there, burning to get out, but Bryan swallowed it back as Shawn’s words about how this race was warrior-like and not exactly known for their compassion echoed in his head… well, except for when they found their mate. Then they’d give their very lives to protect the one they’d claimed.
Shawn had told him they refused to even admit to an emotion called fear. It was bred out of them at an early age. If any Maz’Rarian showed such an emotion, it would result in getting them killed, usually by another of their species. They were a brutal race.
And he’d scared Daroshi, really scared him. “I’m sorry, Daroshi. Next time I’ll let you know. It’s just… You were asleep and I didn’t want to wake you.”
“Wake me. We don’t need the same amount of rest as humans.”
Which, privately, Bryan thought proved his point. Daroshi was so tired he’d fallen asleep at Bryan’s bedside. He also knew better than to point that out.
“Will do.”
Daroshi settled next to Bryan. “I need to know where you are at all times until we… ah, catch whoever did this. I will not lose you, Bryan.”
Bryan yawned and leaned back against the pillow. Yes, he caught the slight hesitation. Daroshi didn’t plan on catching the culprit—he planned on killing him.
Probably as gruesomely as possible.

Thick as Thieves by Tali Spencer and a giveaway!
Hey guys! Sorry, I was just taking down these posters someone plastered all over the place about a missing Unicorn. *Glares at Vorgell* Needless to say, I *know* what happened to it.Anyhow, today I have Tali Spencer visiting. She's here to talk abount her July 8th Dreamspinner release Thick as Thieves.
Let me tell you now, having been one of the beta's for this, it damn funny. :)
10 Nifty Uses for a Unicorn Horn
Thanks, Michelle, for having me stop by to talk about my new release, Thick as Thieves. The novel started out as a Wednesday Briefs weekly flash story… well, actually it started with a prompt. The prompt was unicorn, mandolin, some kind of plant . So in a sense the book started out with a unicorn, just not the whole unicorn. I decided to run with the horn.
First of all, unicorn horns are phallic symbols. Make no mistake, I have a thing for phalluses, symbolic and in the flesh. You can bet I had a lot of fun with Vorgell, the sex crazed barbarian. I put him through the wringer because, as chance would have it, he falls hard for a man who is perfectly capable of resisting an erection.
So if you enjoy magic, snarky male witches, and a barbarian who couldn’t resist a unicorn horn in the ass, you just might love Thick as Thieves. I include an excerpt below, right after this list of ten really good uses for a unicorn horn should you chance upon one:
~10. Towel Rack. A unicorn horn’s swirly surface is decorative and because it is magic it stays nice and warm to keep your towels toasty.
~9. Swizzle Stick. A swizzle stick made from unicorn horn turns any drink into an aphrodisiac. Or you can be truly devious and use unicorn horn toothpicks in your cherries.
~8. Pointer. A unicorn horn pointer is certain to grab the interest of your audience. Unicorn horns even glow in the dark!
~7. Holiday costume. Everyone loves a unicorn. Go to a party wearing a unicorn horn and you not only have a hit costume, but an aphrodisiac on your head. And you can use the horn as a weapon should the need arise.
~6. Lightning Rod. Little known fact: Unicorn horns attract electricity. If attached to a grounding kit, they make excellent lightning rods. Also a good reason not to wear a unicorn horn to a party.
~5. Fountain of Youth. Even small amounts of powdered unicorn horn can slow aging. Vampires aren’t ageless. They just breed unicorns in secret.
~4. Desk Ornament. Although frequently purloined by disrespectful guests, unicorn horn desk ornaments make a statement. The only reason we don’t see more of them: the other 9 reasons.
~3. Restore a Zombie to Life. One of the lesser known qualities of unicorn horn is that they restore life to the undead. If you bury a unicorn horn into the chest of a zombie, the zombie becomes a living person again. This is not necessarily a good thing.
~2. Dildo. Unicorn horn begins to dissolve upon insertion into any orifice, providing natural—and magical—lubrication. The more you use it, the hornier you become. The downside: using a unicorn horn in this way might leave you permanently horny.
~1. Murder Weapon. Because unicorn horns dissolve inside warm, living bodies (note that zombies, #3, are neither warm nor living), they make ideal murder weapons. Not only does the weapon itself disappear soon after causing fatal damage, but no one will really believe the weapon existed in the first place.
All kidding aside, though…
Thick as Thieves follows the adventure of Vorgell, a barbarian who kills a unicorn in the woods and puts the horn to use #2. Now he’s way deep in magic over his head—until he finds Madd. Madd’s in over his head too, but one thing Madd is good at is taking advantage of a situation….
I am giving away a free copy of Thick as Thieves in eBook or autographed paperback—whichever you choose—to one person who comments on this blog post before midnight on July 14 http://www.dreamspinnerpress.com/store/product_info.php?products_id=4002 Blurb After Vorgell the barbarian fucks himself with a unicorn horn, he ends up in a cell with Maddog, a pretty young thief. It’s lust at first sight for Vorgell—but honestly, he can’t help it. Unicorn horn is a potent aphrodisiac, and now he can’t stop thinking about sex. Luckily, Madd is one male witch who knows how to put Vorgell’s new magical body to good use when he tricks Vorgell into a kiss that helps them escape. Vorgell may desire sex in general—and Madd in particular—but Madd has no intention of being screwed by a man twice his size. He has problems of his own, including an enchanted collar that causes him to desire his most hated enemy. He wants that collar off as soon as possible, but that requires stealing a basilisk egg from the castle they just escaped. Drawn together by lust and magic, the two men join forces and soon find themselves up to their necks in witches, wizards, and trouble. Vorgell and Madd might just be perfect for each other, but first they have to survive long enough to find out. Excerpt Madd frowned, his dark gaze traveling down Vorgell’s body and taking in his state of undress. “I guess we’ll have to find you some clothes.” Vorgell liked that idea. “You could just hand me your cloak.” “No!” Madd clutched the garment closed at the throat. “We’ll… find you something else.” He sighed. “You don’t get it, do you? We need to disappear. You consumed an entire unicorn horn, and—” “And I’m horny all the time now. I know.” As if to confirm that point, Vorgell’s cock twitched and plumped at the sight of his companion. Even wrapped in shadows and with a water stain from the puddle on his ass, Madd was bewitching. Vorgell’s blood warmed just to look at him. “But I don’t see what that has to do with—” “Are you really so gods-addled clueless? A mere sliver of unicorn horn makes a man horny for days. You consumed the entire horn! You filled your gargantuan body with so much fucking unicorn magic you’re now a walking, talking reservoir of enchantment! And you’re not a magician, are you? You’re like a toad sitting on gold coins! You can’t get rid of your pot of gold because you don’t know how to use it!” Vorgell blinked at the little guy’s rage, struggling to see past the fact that Madd looked unbearably cute when he gestured and paced and sputtered. So cute Vorgell wanted to push him against the moldy wall and silence him with kisses while he pushed his cock against that delectable, lithe body. He fought to keep focus as his cock stiffened to full engorgement. “I can do magic?” Madd rolled his eyes. “No. You fucking are magic. Like a unicorn. Your blood, your bones, every living part of you, is filled with the shit.” He sighed. “Why the hell do you think I bit you in the tower, except to get at the magic? Or sucked your cock just now? Which, by the way,” he added, “I don’t plan on doing regularly.” “But you’re good at it. And, well, I thought—” But then he realized he hadn’t been thinking for some days. It was time to start doing it. “So you are using me?” Madd looked him in the eye. “Yes. And you’re fortunate in that. Because although I’m not a particularly good magician, I’m much more ethical than the baron or his like. Or any of the Wizards’ Guild. That lot would be bleeding you by now and amputating toes to suck on for a little extra spell power.” Vorgell considered this. He distrusted magic users. He also knew a thing or two about unscrupulous men and could be one himself when the situation demanded. He hadn’t carried Madd away from their prison out of gratitude, but for purposes of ravishment. The latter still sounded like a good idea. Author bio: Tali Spencer fell in love with writing at an early age and never stopped. Thanks to a restless father, she grew up as a bit of a nomad and still loves to travel whenever she can. Her longest stint in one place was Milwaukee where she went to college and enjoyed a series of interesting careers including respiratory therapist, airport executive, and raising three surprisingly well-adjusted sons. She later married her true love and put down new roots in Philadelphia, where she lives in an ongoing Italian American family sitcom. At least she’s learned how make good pasta. Sexy Snippets
Hey everyone! Welcome to Sexy Snippets. This is seven sentences, taken from a work in progress, or published book, and brought to you every Sunday. For this week, I thought I’d do something from my eXtasy release The Yellow Rope. What are the three words that can get the heart thumping, send blood pressure though the roof, and make the very breath in your chest freeze? That can make a grown person yell with unabashed joy, have their hands shake with excitement, and bring tears to their eyes in relief? What are three little words that are worth their weight in gold?
That’s right… a long weekend. J
“Oh, no, you’re not gonna….” Gage tugged hard on Luke’s cock, stopping his orgasm. “Breathe, babe.” Air exploded from Luke’s lungs. “Fuck! Dammit, man, I just lost brains cells from you doing that.”
Gage’s bark of laughter sounded in the vehicle. “You moron, you don’t lose brain cells from orgasm denial.”
“Wanna bet? I feel stupider, trust me.” http://www.extasybooks.com/the-yellow-rope/

When Sparks Fly Blog Hop - July 4th-8th
Welcome to the July 4th blog hop put on by the The Blog Hop Spot!
So pull out that checkered tablecloth, fire up the grill, and grab a beverage of choice lol. Then after all the activities are done and the fireworks are over, relax with a little blog hopping! *grin*
I'm doing a giveaway as the prize. Three winners will get their choice of either Priceless, Perfect, or Pure eBooks. Remember to leave me a email addy so I can find you. The hop ends July 8th and the winners will be announced soon after. Okay, 4th of July is an American holiday so I'm keeping the question as general as possible. :)
QUESTION: When cooking out, do you perfer using a grill or making a campfire?
I have to admit there's nothing more fun than making a campfire, putting hotdogs on a stick, and cooking them over a open flame. We have a pond in the backyard and the family and I have spent may evening cooking over a campfire, especially when the kids were younger. :)
Have fun hopping! This is a bittersweet hop because The Blog Hop Spot won't be putting on any more hops after this one. I only had a change to take part in a few, but I had a blast every time. :)

Now, again, Nighttime Promises is the 3rd book in the Nighttime series, which is published by Romance First. I'm using the prompts to help me get going on this book. I'm going to try to provide enough info from the other two books so readers won't be totally lost if they haven't read the series.Yes, this is a tentacle story lol.Fair warning! I'm going to pull this about 3/4th of the way through, expand it, and send it off. Most of the story will be shown on here though. I'm giving this warning so no one will be caught off guard when I pull the story.
Nighttime Promises #1
Bryan Coltrane lay in Medical on a medibed, staring up at the white ceiling. The past several days had been rough. Bryan snorted. Past several days—what an understatement that was. How long ago had it been since that fateful night when he’d seen his first alien? Felt like months.
He was an ex-big city cop who’d been wounded in one of the worst shoot-outs ever. After that, he’d returned to his hometown with every intention of settling into a quiet life. Instead, he’d ended up running for sheriff. Being bisexual hadn’t stood in his way, and he’d won the office, backed by the vote of the people of the town.
What no one knew was his dirty little secret… Every day he exercised control. He carried a weapon, and he’d use it to defend himself and civilians. When dealing with perps, he had to stay in control, keep a cool head, and not let his temper get the best of him at the slurs thrown his way. Every minute of the workday, he had to keep control of not only himself, but his officers.
But when he was away from the job, he wanted nothing more than to let loose and have someone else handle things. He liked to give up control in the bedroom—he likedbottoming. He was always the one in control, had the authority, and gave the orders, but in the bedroom he wanted someone to take all that responsibility off his shoulders and carry the weight for just a little while.
From the few times he mentioned it in his relationships, it hadn’t gone over very well. His partners wanted him to break out the cuffs and handcuff them, when all he wanted was the same damn thing. He’d given up hope of ever finding a man that was bigger and taller than him, so he played top to their bottom, but he was never truly happy or fulfilled.
At thirty-four, he was a small town sheriff minding his own business when suddenly the FBI landed in his lap, investigating a reported sighting of UFO’s. Special Agent Jacob headed the investigation and he was a royal pain in the ass. The man was obsessed with making his career by bring in a real, honest-to-goodness alien.
S.A. Jacob came damn close to succeeding too when Ziang, a Maz’Rarian warrior from the planet Maz’Rar, came to take Shawn as his mate. Ziang crash-landed not far from town and Shawn, good ole country boy that he was, had seen the explosion and gone to help. Little did he know what he’d find.
Little did Bryan know how that would impact his life, either. When Bryan went to confront Shawn about odd things happening in connection with him, Bryan met his first alien—Ziang. As Fate would have it, Bryan showed up at Shawn’s home just as Shawn and Ziang were getting ready to transport. He and the alien found themselves in a standoff, weapons drawn.
Bryan had just come face to face with a mammal-like reptile with amphibious characteristics—a real live alien. For the few seconds they pointed their weapons at each other, Bryan noticed parts of Ziang’s skin—like the top of his arms and legs—were scaly like a crocodile’s and looked extremely tough. He also observed Ziang’s skin tone was a muddy brown with reddish geometric patterns. He stood over seven and a half feet tall and weighed more than three hundred pounds.
But what freaked Bryan out the most was what appeared to be dreads on Ziang’s head. Later, he came to find they weren’t actually dreads but lightweight tentacles. Pale brown in color, the tentacles hung down to Ziang’s waist.
After Shawn made it clear he wanted to leave with the big alien, Bryan thought he’d seen the last of the creatures. Now, he thought, the only thing left to do was cover for Shawn and his alien—the FBI was still in town and still hunting Ziang.
Bryan thought wrong.
Not long after Shawn left, Bryan was paid a visit by the aliens again. This time though, they were looking for him. As his damn luck would have it, another alien had been monitoring Ziang and Shawn’s escape and was intrigued by Bryan’s bravery. Daroshi, the equivalent of a First Officer, had decided he wanted Bryan as his mate.
Things had been going downhill since then.
Daroshi didn’t have the experience Ziang had in dealing with humans, especially a very unhappy human who’d just had his well-planned life jerked out from under him and had been told he was a mate to an alien.
Then he was told what those tentacles were used for and the shock nearly did Bryan in. The tentacles were part of the alien’s reproductive system. There was one certain tentacle that acted just like a human male’s penis. It was kept in a shaft at the back of the alien’s head until it was… needed. Bryan found out when Daroshi had sex that tentacle would be what entered him. Plus, the other tentacles liked to… help out.
Plus, not long after he arrived on Ziang’s ship, he was harassed by one of the females of the species, Haya, who wanted him as a pet… a damn pet! Something to be owned. He made it clear he’d fight her to the death before he’d become anyone’s pet. From what he’d seen so far, death would be preferable. Haya was a cruel bitch.
Bryan really wasn’t having a good day. But the final straw was when someone tried to poison him, and nearly succeeded right before the wormhole opened and Ziang’s crew had to jump. And this brought him back to why he was staring up at the ceiling in Medical while Daroshi sat in a chair close by, sleeping. TBC
