Tweens and teens and college. Oh my!
Are you seeing the prom pictures on Facebook? Get ready for the next wave: cap and gown. I know they say this in all the speeches, but parents, please believe me when I tell you this is the beginning of something, not the end. And you best get yourselves prepared. (Don't worry about the kids. All they need is a trip to Bed, Bath, and Beyond and they'll be set.)Alexandra Rosas and I are doing our best to help you on Grown and Flown, explaining what it really feels like when your baby bird flies off to college. Don't say we didn't warn you.

Imagine there's no raisins. It's easy if you try.
Imagine a restaurant that caters to the whims of every single person in your family. Imagine a swim meet where you don't have to worry about missing your kids' heats. It could be real, people. We just need a little help from Mompreneurs to create our own heaven on earth. Check out my brilliant ideas and catch-free licensing agreement on Babble.
Let's do this thing.

Babbling about teens and their mobile devices
"Newsflash: Teenagers are addicted to their mobile devices, now more than ever. More at 11!(Okay, okay — I know what you’re thinking right about now: Tell me something I don’t know.)
The truth is, if you’re the parent of a teen — heck, if you’ve even seen a teen — you’re more than familiar with the state of oneness they’ve achieved with their mobile devices."

Sorry, second kid. Sorry, world. My bad.
Umm... what happened here? We’ve recently noticed a few … let’s call them “gaps” in our younger boy’s socialization. The moment I looked at my own child and exclaimed, “Didn’t your mother ever tell you…?!” I realized we had a problem. I'm coming clean on 15 Things We Kind of Screwed Up with Our Second Kid on Babble, which is ironic because apparently I forgot to teach this kid what "clean" means.

Words unspoken (usually)
You know that thing where you call a parent you've never met before to gather intel before a play date, but you can't just come out and say, "Hello, I am investigating whether you are fit to supervise my child. Let's get started, shall we?"Read about how the exchange of pleasantries/scrutiny goes for me by clicking over to The 5 Stages of Sizing Up Another Parent Before a Play Date on Babble. If your decoder works better than mine, I want to know all your secrets.

There's texting, then there's BlurtTexting
We gotta keep up with the times, right? Stay hip to the new tech so we can relate to our kids and their friends--or at least know what the heck they're talking about half the time. Texting and moms are a match made in heaven. Click on over to Grown and Flown and see how Alexandra Rosas and I do. Then maybe do the opposite, IDK.
