Paper anniversary
Believe it or not, today marks a full year of audio Suburban Haiku. The air assault started when I hastily recorded a haiku (and a panicked interview) for NPR.
Have a listen while you picture me on the phone in a hotel room in Las Vegas (where for some reason we took our kids on vacation) trying to sound normal while I sort and cram four people's clothes into separate dirty and clean suitcases, simultaneously shushing the boys and getting the evil eye from my husband, who is grumbling that we should have been on the road to Grand Canyon a half hour ago. Good times.
Anyway, my girlfriend heard me on the radio and said she rather liked having me read the haiku (because reading 17 syllables yourself is such a chore, you know) and could I please do it every day? Accommodating as always, I started this little audio blog for her, and now for you. Happy Anniversary, darlings!
Illustration: NickMom I love it so. Bonus: I wrote a little Mother's Day ditty for NickMom, which somehow manages to combine all my favorite things and infuse them with the Christmas spirit. How can you resist? On BluntMoms, I have your in-depth guide to conducting a thorough yet secret investigation of playdates who claim their nasty cough is due to a mere little non-contagious seasonal allergy. We'll just see about that.
