Paige Dearth was a victim of child abuse. She writes real-life horror and refers to her work as: Fiction with Mean-ing. Stories teach lessons and Paige hopes that awareness through fiction creates prevention.

Paige will continue to write stories about young children who need to overcome adversity and then take you on their life’s journey. Her goal through fiction is to get readers so invested in the story and characters you will become one with the tome. You will shed tears of joy, grief, rage and horror. You will be emotionally invested in the outcome. She wants her readers to be thinking about the story long after they have turned the last page.

Description: Kindle or paperback editions: http://www.amazon.com/Believe-Like-Child-Paige-Dearth/dp/1461105676/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1309425438&sr=8-1 Fiction never seemed so real. Alessa, a seven year old girl is raped in her home for nine years until she seeks refuge in the streets of Philadelphia. Alone at the age of sixteen in North Philadelphia, she encounters more human predators who want to take over her life. Alessa manages to break away from her new tormentors and flees to a shelter for homeless women. Wherever she goes, however, trouble keeps seeking her out, until she meets three people who change the course of her life forever. But as she begins to settle down, a ghost from the past comes to haunt her again. While the subject matter is harsh, the novel is written so that readers can enjoy a fast paced suspenseful thriller. Strap in for a ride you will never forget.

Never Be Alone by Paige Dearth
“The worst poverty isn’t about not having enough money to survive. Real poverty is when there is no one in the world who loves you. When there is no other human to make you feel like you matter. As if you aren’t worth the air you breathe. Poverty of love is the worst thing you can be deprived of.”

"This book started off making me so, SO angry! And then it broke my heart. It made me smile and it made me cry.

It hurts, because I feel like this book is just too darn real, and this is a reality for too many young kids and teens. (I have to figure..." Read more of this review »

“JUST LISTEN

“When your mind is quiet and you listen closely, you will hear the children weeping silently. If you can’t quite hear their cries, then listen with your eyes. These are the children of the streets, who have learned pain and suffering before they ever had a chance to experience life. Do not ignore their cries for help, for all they wish is that you will rescue them. They do not have a family that wants them, they don’t know how it feels to be loved and they’ve never lived anywhere that felt like home…the streets are where they find their voice and relief from all of the suffering.

Just listen and you’ll see them.”
Paige Dearth, When Smiles Fade

“It is our flaws that make each one of us so perfect.”
Paige Dearth

“The important thing in life is not where you came from, but where you are going.”

Christine Hatfield Thanks for being my friend

Sherri Jones What can I say about this book....From the moment I read the description, I waited for Paige to send me a copy in the mail(Thank you sooooo much Paige) I was not by any means disappointed! I applaude Paige for taking the chance to write about issues that some would find over the top and outlandish. I, myself, could relate to some of the occurrences that developed through "When Smiles Fade." "Normal" people would think these types of experiences don't exist, but in reality, they do! Alot more than most of us would like to admit. Being in law enforcement I have been jaded by what I have seen and wish that most of the victims could find a more encouraging way to survive, when faced with the same circumstances as Emma. I almost had to chuckle though, at the amount that Emma did, in fact, get away with. And anyone who was fully engulfed in the book, as I was, would not have been surprised by the ending. Well done Paige, I bow my head to you, please keep writing
