St. Mark's Bookshop, the beloved East Village NYC literary landmark that was recently on the verge of closing due to an overwhelming rent increase, just reached a deal with landlord Cooper Union and will remain open. To celebrate, St. Mark's is now selling Beatitude! Well, actually, St. Mark's is throwing a party (December 1, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.). Season's Readings

Rick Dale, author of The Beat Handbook and the poetry chapbook Once in a Blue While Moon, gave a nice shout-out to Beatitude in his blog, The Daily Beat. Dale noted that Beatitude includes two previously unpublished Allen Ginsberg poems and that famed composer, conductor and musician David Amram described the author (that would be me) as "A daring, honest writer with a gritty urban flair."
